"Circular letter from Artuto M. Elías, Mexican Consul in New York making various statements about the articles published by the LIBERTY arguing that such publications are a deliberate attempt to deceive the American public opinion. A copy of the LIBERTY magazine containing an article by Sidney Sutherland entitled ""Lo oculto de la gran guerra religiosa. La cuarta carta desde México"" [the hidden reasons behind the great religious war. A fourth letter from Mexico] in which he contends that he is the spokesperson for the Mexican clergy, who state that they are not to be blamed for the Mexican people's poor cultural and ideological education. The clergy also states that their properties were gifts, spontaneously given to them by their congregation, and that their non-compliance with Calles's law obeys to its intention to eliminate the religious faith (See library). Article entitled ""El ave imperial dirige su vuelo rumbo al sur"" [The imperial bird flies to the south], which presents an account of the American territorial expansion started in 1819 and the justification for their armed intervention in Nicaragua.
