In the run-up to major sports events, Brazil increasingly relies on the support of Armed Forces in the provision of public security. Given the country´s authoritarian past, this raises concerns about the current state of civilian supremacy over the military. Applying a model that subdivides the civil-military relationship into the five dimensions of elite recruitment, public policy, internal security, external defence as well as military organization, this article aims at assessing the development of civilian supremacy from the transition to democracy until today. It finds out that military prerogatives have been considerably reduced, even though the civilian supremacy still lacks a proper institutionalization. In the long run, informal ways of keeping the Armed Forces out of politics might not be efficient enough.

Despite the reality that the JKN program is necessary for all Indonesian residents, there are still individuals who have not enrolled as JKN members. The purpose of this research is to evaluate and explain the application of individual health services and the government's impediments to citizens receiving legal protection under the BPJS health health social security system. The research approach adopted is one of normative legal research. A descriptive legal approach was adopted in the assessment process. According to the findings of this study, the application of individual health services in the framework of legal protection for people who are not enrolled in the BPJS Health social security system is restricted to the supply of health facilities. The state does not offer legal protection in the form of duty for delivering health care, because individuals who are not enrolled as BPJS Health participants will be registered as general patients, requiring them to pay for treatments individually or through private insurance. While the idea of BPJS Health as given in the BPJS Law requires everyone to register for BPJS Health, BPJS Health still has several inadequacies, which causes some individuals to be hesitant and unwilling to register as BPJS Health participants. The government cannot claim that the lack of legal protection in health services is the responsibility of those who do not register as BPJS Health participants, because this is a result or implication of the numerous deficiencies in health services that continue to employ BPJS Health.

Public institutions, such as the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) increasingly function in multi-project environments to translate strategies successfully into service-delivery initiatives. However, this 'projectification' often causes projects to be designed and executed haphazardly. This can lead to budget and schedule overruns, and the general wastage of an organisation's resources. Project failures often occur where organisations do not ensure that specific projects are aligned with their core strategies. The purpose of this article is to combine the theories and principles of organisation, management, strategic management, and project management in an effort to pinpoint core determinants that can help establish the extent to which an organisation manages the alignment of its strategic projects. In the present study, the author applied the principles of interdisciplinarity, systems thinking, and organisational integration. The combined core determinants that were uncovered were then used in an empirical investigation of SASSA. The purpose of this investigation is to identify particular challenges the organisation faces in aligning their strategies and projects successfully. Thereafter, a number of recommendations follow to address these challenges.
