Architectural repositories like archdaily, dezeen, divisare, emerged with the internet 2.0, have made possible the 'democratization of visibility', by which small platforms and/or architects can opt for great visibility previously only accessible to large structures. They offer a large amount of built and unbuilt projects everyday, as their sustainability is based on quantity instead of quality, creating a huge flow of information difficult to classify. These platforms have become the place where architectural knowledge is stored. They also make obsolete the traditional approaches based on chronological and geographical contexts, and establish a simplification based on the culture of the immediacy. These repositories are no more only dissemination tools but more and more inspiration sources for new developments, making the analysis of their influence nowadays relevant. Today's History of Architecture could be narrated through online repositories, as they are the place where a huge number of projects localized worldwide are stored, creating multiple asynchronous links between them. It is a provocative approach, but it also shows there is not only one history to be presented, but multiple, sometimes parallel, histories. We face a situation of dispersion, where the multiple theoretical contributions have to be made compatible, a very different context compared with the beginning of the 20th century. Until now, research in the field of Architectural History has not applied the quantitative approach based on big data (and why not, AI). Also if creating a history of present architecture exclusively from digital sources has methodological flaws, new approaches, tools and strategies can be applied. Together with repositories, social networks have turned the user into a producer, editor and critic of architecture –often at the same time– and this is changing the traditional rules of architectural dissemination. ; Universidad de Málaga. "The book offers a new view of U.S. social movement history across the twentieth century by examining how movement organizations were covered in major national newspapers. The book analyzes U.S. social movements--ranging from temperance to women's suffrage to the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street--in a broad comparative fashion. Drawing on the full set of digitized newspapers from the twentieth-century (a task that as little as twenty years ago was considered impossible for researchers), the book offers both an institutional history of news--why the media covered what they covered, and to what effect--and also shows the influence of news coverage on a range of social mocements, from the well-known to the obscure. Media coverage is a crucial component of movement visibility; news can draw the general public into battles over new issues but also shapes how movements are perceived. The authors show how a movement's structure--it's organization, as well as the protest and non-protests activities it undertakes--influence its coverage, and consider too how macro political conditions shape movement coverage. They reveal surprising gaps between contemporaneous coverage and current scholarly focus; for instance, the labor movement received the most journalistic attention of any movement of the twentieth century, but it is greatly understudied in comparison to how much it dominated the public sphere. Taking stock of news coverage across a century of movements thus illuminates movements that were influential in public discourse but have been neglected by scholars. The authors end the manuscript by considering how recent developments--the rise of the internet and social media, the emergence of a powerful right-wing media system, and 24-hour news and the demise of many local newspapers and an overall decline in professional journalism--have aided right-wing movement actors in their bids for attention and for policy change at the expense of those on the left"--

The article analyzes how the problems of Russian history of the 21st century are presented in modern school textbooks on the history of Russia. The relevance of the studied problem is determined primarily by the importance of history textbooks for constructing memory policies. At the same time, attention is paid to insufficient coverage of the 2000s transformations in modern historiography. The representation of the last twenty years in Russian history textbooks is analyzed in comparison with expert assessments of economists, sociologists, and political scientists. The authors conclude that Russian history of the 21st century appears on the pages of officially approved textbooks as a consistent, ongoing process of the development of a state that is gaining power. The textbooks contain very similar interpretations of the last two decades compared to the history of the 1990s, where one can find different interpretations of events made by the same authors. In addition, in textbooks one can find a lot of borrowings from official and propaganda rhetoric. In relation to the events of the 1990s and earlier, the authors of the textbooks under study selected alternative points of view, and subsequent events are assessed by them unambiguously. It can be stated that in the studied textbooks, the history of the last twenty years reflects the goals of historical science only to a small extent. It corresponds to the goals of historical policy to a greater extent. This conclusion becomes more obvious in the framework of the studies of Russian scholars, which, regardless of their views, cannot be described as an apology for the actions of political leaders.

This article advocates the thesis that the People?s Republic of China, in
accordance with a strong geopolitical strategy, is using geo-economics tools
in the context of reshaping global powers? influence in diverse parts of the
world. One of these spatial dimensions of Chinese emerging domination refers
to the Western Balkans, primarily through the economic presence of China in
this region. To address this issue first will be considered concepts of
geopolitics and geo-economics, followed by highlighting China?s presence in
the Western Balkans region and flourishing infrastructure projects in the
domain of transport and energy. The research is conducted by relying on the
existing databases on China?s economic involvement in different economy
sectors worldwide, mainly from China Global Investment Tracker (CGIT) and
AidData?s Global Chinese Official Finance Dataset for the WB countries in
the period 2013-2018. Special attention is given to China?s benefits in
terms of realizing those projects, even though the Western Balkans
countries? market is not attractive per se. Finally, some concluding remarks
have been made in terms of the potentials of China?s strategy to reconsider
political and security dynamics in the Western Balkans.

A "History Education for 21st Century Chinese Communities" symposium was held in June 2006 in Hong Kong. Its primary objectives were to discuss ways for history instructors to inculcate Hong Kong youngsters with a sense of cultural identity, to employ new technologies in the teaching of history and to ensure a future for history departments at Hong Kong Universities.
