Cette recherche explore les modes d'appropriation de Facebook par des groupes de militant•es brésilien•nes pour coordonner des luttes sociales, en se basant sur une analyse lexicale des contenus de 529 pages, publiés entre 2013 et 2017. Deux répertoires d'action principaux se distinguent. Facebook est mobilisé comme arène de contestation de l'action gouvernementale et comme outil de coordination de leurs mobilisations. Cette recherche montre plus précisément que les contenus artistiques et l'agenda des événements culturels ont occupé une place centrale dans ces répertoires d'action en ligne. Ils ponctuent l'ordinaire des échanges d'informations entre les militant•es, notamment en dehors des périodes et des événements de cristallisation des luttes. Ils ont favorisé la structuration des réseaux militants sur le moyen terme et la coordination des mouvements sociaux en créant les conditions de rassemblements ponctuels, transversaux aux différents types de militantisme et aux diverses luttes sociales.

This social media is at the heart of the practices of these militant networks strongly inspired by contemporary modes of media activism. It forms a way for exploring the objects of struggles and revealing the most central ones in the exchanges and claims of social movements. This article analyzes the spread of unreliable information on Twitter during the 2017 French presidential campaign, focusing on the use of mobile phones with regard to information-sharing behavior. The corpus is composed of 38,346,765 tweets, posted by 2,163,812 supporters of the five main French political parties, from November 25, 2016 to May 12, 2017. We examine more precisely a sub-corpus of tweets (13,044,619) containing links to external information sources, in order to evaluate the different types of information sources and their reliability. Our research shows that information-sharing behavior within Twitter in France is generally based on reliable information sources, produced by journalists and professional media. However, we highlight that smartphone users tended to share a greater amount of user-generated content, as well as articles from a wider range of alternative political information sources (blogs, activists' websites); such sources were most likely to publish unreliable information. Thus it appears that users of mobile phones tend to share more unreliable news than those who use Twitter from a computer web browser. Further, we show that this "device effect" on the spread of unreliable information is primarily amplified among the practices of one political community—namely, the far-right party and its network of supporters—which is more likely to organize debate around a larger number of unreliable references. We are claiming here that the design-based interoperability of these unreliable political news and social media applications helps to understand why the French far-right community shared more unreliable information from the Twitter application.

Cette recherche analyse les modes de propagation des sources d'information peu fiables au sein de Twitter lors de l'élection présidentielle française de 2017 en évaluant plus précisément le rôle des téléphones mobiles dans les échanges d'idées et de contenus. Elle montre que l'usage de l'application mobile de Twitter défavorise le partage d'articles publiés par les organes de presse au profit des informations produites par des sources alternatives, notamment des blogues ou des sites Web de militants. Comme ces sources alternatives relaient davantage de désinformation, les téléphones mobiles tendent à favoriser le partage d'informations peu fiables. Cependant, cet effet des téléphones mobiles dans le phénomène de la désinformation vient avant tout amplifier les pratiques des communautés politiques, notamment le Front national, qui organisent par ailleurs leurs débats autour d'un nombre plus important de références peu fiables.
