In November 2009 the renewed display of the Museum "Cesare Lombroso" opened to visitors in Turin. A "No Lombroso" cartel of Neo-bourbon and other Southern political associations moved to protest against the Museum. They went to demand the repatriation of the brigand's Villella skull for burial in his birthplace Motta Santa Lucia (CZ). In September 2012, I entered the No Lombroso Facebook group to conduct my online participant observation. The involvement in the day-to-day Facebook interactions highlights the performative construction of the aggressive solidarity into the web communitas.

This essay reflects, from a symbolic perspective, about the ways in which the contemporaryColombian society faces up to the existence of homeless people. From the "Calle de El Cartucho"case and based in researches about the institutional offer to homeless people in Bogotá,it tests two theoretical assumptions: the stigma in Erwin Goffman, and the communitas inVictor Turner. In this way, the paper shows the social representations that have about homelesspeople, governmental, nongovernmental and religious professionals that work with thispopulation, and their association with danger and vice. Then, it observes the ways in whichhomeless people considered outsiders undergo a "corrective" process, similar to the rites ofpassage observed in organic societies. Finally, it presents two general options offered by thecontemporary society to those homeless people who inhabit the city: the possibility of "returnto life" thanks to therapies, or die victims of the "social cleansing" ; Desde una perspectiva simbólica, en este ensayo se reflexiona sobre los modos como lasociedad colombiana contemporánea enfrenta la existencia de los habitantes de la calle.

This study explores the comparative effects of two antecedents of enduring involvement in determining whether social versus psychological effects are more important in establishing enduring involvement with an extended service encounter. Specifically, the authors look at the effects of communitas—a social effect—and flow—an individual psychological effect—to determine which has a stronger impact on one's enduring involvement in golf. Self-determination theory argues that flow should be more important than communitas in establishing enduring involvement because of higher levels of volitional control; the findings support this premise. From a practical perspective, these findings should help extended service managers determine which service environments or strategies (e.g., social atmosphere strategies vs. game improvement strategies) to emphasize when trying to establish loyal participants. The moderating effects of gender and participation frequency on the relationships between communitas and enduring involvement and between flow and enduring involvement are also examined.
