After the defeat of Hungary by the Ottoman Empire, in August of 1415, the Bosnian king and a few noble men made a decision to change their political loyalty towards the Hungary. King Ostoja tried to take care of inside matters that were ruling in Bosnian Kingdom. He called for a meeting (Stanak) at which he would even out with some noble men. Even Dubrovcani wrote about this event. In one of their letters they described the events that took place in Kraljeva Sutjeska. After the occurrence in Kraljeva Sutjeska, intervention of Ottoman army was expected. One of the facts that the situation was pretty serious is that some families sought asylum from Dubrovnik's authorities in case of alarming circumstances. One of Bosnian powerful nobles dies in 1416. King Ostoja and other noblemen were fighting over his property.

The Most Serene Republic of Venice was for centuries as the dominant power of the Mediterranean and its legacy can be seen, in the architecture of the towns within its sphere of influence. This article deals with the Venetian influence on the architectural decoration of the Upper Adriatic town of Cres in the 15th century. The particular problem addressed is the political message of the decorative elements, found in the intentions of the commissioners and patrons, with the aim of both reinforcement of their position as well as their progression up the hierarchical ladder of the ruling class. The examples used to prove thid hypothesis are the Arsan palace and the parish church of Saint Mary of the Snows, as well as a few other elements of the architectural decoration of Cres.

Foucault identified the roots of governmentality in religious beliefs and religious history with its genealogical core the equivalent of pastoral power, the art of governing people by relying on a dualistic logic; individualization and totalization. This technology of power arose and matured within the Roman Catholic Church and provided a model for many states in the achievement and exercise of power. Informed by the work of Foucault on pastoral power the present work examines the genealogical core of governmentality in the context of the Roman Catholic Church at a time of great crisis in the 15th century when the Roman Catholic Church was undergoing reform instituted by Pope Eugenius IV (1431–1447). The contributions of accounting to pastoral power are shown in this study to have been pivotal in restoring the Church's standing and influence. Accounting was one of the technologies that allowed the bishops to control both the diocese as a whole and each priest, to subjugate the priests to the bishops' authority and, thereby, to govern the diocese through a never-ending extraction of truth.

Introduction. Geopolitical changes in the Eastern Mediterranean following the Fourth Crusade destabilized the situation in the region which became the area of conflict of the Greeks, Latins, and Turks. Their rival caused the power vacuum which influenced political and economic development in the region under study. This article addresses the phenomenon of the 15th-century piracy in the context of ethnopolitical changes in the Aegean.

Methods. Taking the results of the comparative analysis of Western European and Byzantine sources as the background, the author of this article evaluates the scope of the Eastern Mediterranean piracy and the place of this phenomenon in the political processes that changed the regional leader.

Analysis. In the beginning of the period under study, Catalans and Genoese did a great part of sea robbery by plundering ships and devastating coastal areas. However, later on they gradually moved the focus of their actions to the Adriatic. The most important changes occurred in the actions of Ottoman pirates, who significantly enlarged their presence in the area in question. Under the unstable political situation in the area with an actually absent evident regional political leader, piracy became a tool of political struggle. The Turkish government used the struggle against the pirates as a way of strengthening its maritime power and the pretext for occupying new territories.

Results. Shaping of Pax Turcica resulted in the gradual decrease of piracy by the late 15th century, and the stabilization of the Aegean and Pontic maritime traffic. From that time on, sea robbery concentrated in the waters of the Adriatic, Cyprus, and Levantine Seas where piracy continued flourishing.
