In the analysis of school violence, there is a tendency for commentators to define the scope of the problem narrowly. Typically, they focus on interpersonal violence: between students or by students toward their teachers. Here, it is argued that not only does the complexity of this issue defy such a simplistic framing, but also, dealing with the problem at that level does not go far enough. It fails to address the wider context of school violence, the wider forms of violence in schools, & the important interactive & causal effects arising from the confluence of these forces. What is demanded is an integrated, multilevel definition of the problem that will lead to a multilevel causal analysis & a comprehensive policy response that takes account of the full range of constitutive elements. The first stage of such an approach is outlined with regard to defining the nature & scope of the problem. 27 References. Adapted from the source document.
Preventing Bullying and School Violence is a practical handbook for designing and sustaining effective interventions to address problem behaviors in schools. The book is designed to help clinicians, school counselors, and administrators create a safe climate for their students and to respond thoughtfully, but swiftly, when threats arise.
Violence in schools is a pervasive problem and one that requires greater attention from educators, policy makers, and researchers. The present study aimed at finding the rate of prevalence of different types of violence such as student to student, teachers to the student, and student to teachers in government and private schools. For this data was collected from the students of government and private schools of Chandigarh. It was found that the rate of school violence was high in both government and private schools. The details of various forms of violence have been given in this paper. In the end, a few recommendations have been suggested to prevent it.

The purpose of this study is to determine the ways primary education administrators solve events of violence as a problem. To this end, sample cases of violence were derived from the school violence news appearing on media organs in the last four years. They were categorized based on the type of violence. Data were collected via a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher and administered to school administrators. In-depth data were collected in regard to the ways they would solve problems. The content formed by the obtained data was evaluated via systematic, descriptive analysis. To determine the problem of violence in school, school administrators mostly turn to teachers' and students' views and video-recording and sound-recording. To solve the problems, on the other hand, they resort to family/parent training and implement what is prescribed in the legislation. The administrators did not express any opinion about predetermined possible solutions. © IEJEE.
