Often Christian interfaith engagement has been viewed through the lense of theology of religions where the primary questions are often about the salvific destiny of people of other faiths. 'Faith, Hope and Love' offers an alternative approach asking how do Christian interfaith practitioners live out their discipleship in a multi-faith world?.

This open access book explores how children draw god. It looks at children's drawings collected in a large variety of cultural and religious traditions. Coverage demonstrates the richness of drawing as a method for studying representations of the divine. In the process, it also contributes to our understanding of this concept, its origins, and its development. This intercultural work brings together scholars from different disciplines and countries, including Switzerland, Japan, Russia, Iran, Brazil, and the Netherlands. It does more than share the results of their research and analysis. The volume also critically examines the contributions and limitations of this methodology. In addition, it also reflects on the new empirical and theoretical perspectives within the broader framework of the study of this concept. The concept of god is one of the most difficult to grasp. This volume offers new insights by focusing on the many different ways children depict god throughout the world. Readers will discover the importance of spatial imagery and color choices in drawings of god. They will also learn about how the divine's emotional expression correlates to age, gender, and religiosity as well as strategies used by children who are prohibited from representing their god.

This essay focuses on questions that pertain to the ideological, normative, symbolic, and epochal aspects of political Islam. Political theorists, historians, sociologists, and anthropologists have disagreed on whether political Islam is an exclusively modern political phenomenon or is indebted to long-standing Islamic religious commitments. More specifically, they have also disagreed on whether the shape and ambitions of political Islam are entirely determined by the powers and institutions of the modern, bureaucratic state, particularly its secular desire to control, regulate, and reshape religion. These interpretive debates have often sat uneasily with ongoing normative debates about what kind of secularism democracy requires and whether democracy has priority over liberal rights and freedoms. Adapted from the source document.
Three sets of problems are outlined involving the demand for acknowledgment of Islamic symbolism & practices in Europe: the relationship of religion & state, Islam & liberal democracy; & religious & cultural pluralism. It seems that it is one of the great political challenges to reconcile the basic principles of democracy, such as individual freedom of religion & gender equality, without hierarchical organization. The contributions to this journal define the broad field of political & social preoccupation with the public-political role of Islam -- the question of representation of Islam in western European print media, the problem of regulating Islamic headscarves, the construction of religious identities within the context of integration policies, as well as the formation of Islamic religious education at public schools.

The legal status of Afro-Brazilian religions has changed dramatically in the past few decades. For much of the 20th century, Afro-Brazilian religions lacked legal recognition as religions. Over the past twenty years, they have become targets and beneficiaries of ethnoracial laws and government institutions fostered by Brazil's 1988 "Citizens' Constitution." Still, most acts of violence on Afro-Brazilian religions fail to reach courts and even fewer are tried using the legal frameworks provided by ethnoracial law. This article examines the structural obstacles that the legal remediation of discrimination against Afro-Brazilian religions has faced over the past two decades. It argues that although religious activists' efforts have contributed to beneficial changes in the legal landscape surrounding religious intolerance, current legal understandings of religious prejudice and discrimination continue to curtail the application of anti-discriminatory law to most attacks on Afro-Brazilian religions. Looking ahead to the 2020s, these obstacles can be expected to be aggravated further by the growing influence of conservative Evangelical Christian agendas on the executive, legislative and judiciary branches of the Brazilian government. Global changes have increased the sensitivity of introducing religions other than Islam to the new generation in the world and in our country. For this reason, other religions and beliefs are included in the curricula of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (RCMK) courses in our country. In the curriculum of Secondary Education Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (METKAB) course, there are acquisitions related to other religions that are expected to be acquired by students. In the literature review, it is seen that there is limited research on the place of teaching other religions in the education system, especially in the curriculum of ODKAB course. The aim of this study is to determine how other religions are included in the current ODKAB curriculum in terms of the overall curriculum, objectives, unit contents and outcomes. In the study, it was concluded that the current OCCKAB curriculum includes the teaching of religions other than Islam, and that the teaching of other religions is approached impartially, with a religious perspective and objectively, but there are deficiencies in terms of subject matter and achievements. Key Words: Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Course, Teaching Programme, Religion, Teaching, Religious Education.
