Testimony issued by the Government Accountability Office with an abstract that begins "The United States has a vital national interest in maritime security. The safety and economic security of the United States depend in substantial part upon the secure use of the world's waterways and ports. In an effort to further the progress made through the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, the Security and Accountability for Every Port Act (SAFE Port Act) was passed and became effective in October 2006. This testimony, which is based on past GAO work, synthesizes the results of this work as it pertains to the following: (1) overall port security, (2) facility security at U.S. ports, (3) the international supply chain and cargo container security, and (4) customs revenue collection efforts."

In the context of innovative development of the economy, making decisions on the interaction of individuals and legal entities with non–profit organizations, as well as assessing the risk of investments, contributions, grants and other targeted sources of financing for the activities of non–profit organizations is impossible without providing reliable financial (accounting) statements. Auditing such reporting should distinguish between non–state non–profit organizations (NSNPOs). Therefore, this article discusses the differences between audit between commercial and non–profit organizations in solving urgent problems in Uzbekistan. And also, the procedure for the main activity of auditing in non–governmental non–profit organizations is recommended.

The paper critically examines the extent to which Malawi's economic and political developments, leading to the country's Third Republic, have contributed to the country's quest towards achieving the basic attributes of a democratic developmental state. An analytical framework is developed to examine this covering the post-independence political and economic regimes. The analysis reveals that despite experiencing some episodes of high growth rates, the country has been marred by autocratic tendencies, rampant corruption and nepotism. Oftentimes the political and economic system remained fragile as the performance of the different governments pre-2020 had been hardly inspiring in relation to peoples' expectations.

In this Article, I consider possible approaches that attempt to improve the plans through which millions of Americans tend to their life savings. I begin by considering the inadequacies of our current system of defined contribution accounts and then address two possible alternatives: the first being a federal account universally available to Americans based largely on the model of the Thrift Savings Plan; the second being a system of statebased retirement accounts like those that have already been developed in a handful of states. Though I conclude that a single, federal plan would be superior, either alternative approach would be an improvement over our current system.
