One of the major problems, which causes many difficulties for the Moldovan people towards a genuine democracy, is the so-called identity crisis. The national phenomenon has provoked and continues to provoke multiple verbal confrontations not only in the local media, but also in what we call the Moldovan political reality. The "national question", as it was described in the early 1990s, has penetrated deep into all spheres of activity in the Republic of Moldova, dividing those who dare to approach it into two distinct camps, both dealing with opponents in the toughest terms. The author notes with great regret that after a long period of numerous discussions and public debates, of "ascension" on the path of democracy, the Moldovan society continues to be in a deep crisis of national identity. In his opinion, the identity crisis can also have an enormous destructive potential. First of all, if its possessor is threatened by the loss of his homeland, by the disappearance of the country as an international subject. The danger of the disappearance of the state means not only a crisis of identity, but also a disappearance of it. This article is an attempt to make a diagnosis of this situation and to identify some solutions.

Although corporate alumni networks are a developing practice, academia has said very little about them and their members. In this article, our goal is to provide an account of how members of such networks construct themselves as alumni. To that end, we adopt a narrative approach to identity construction and empirically explore the identity work that the members of one corporate alumni network carry out in order to sustain their identification with a past organizational setting. Our case study leads us to document four 'identity stratagems' (Jenkins, 1996) through which members incorporate elements of their past professional experience into their self-narratives: nostalgia, reproduction, validation and combination. It thus allows for a better understanding of corporate alumni networks and their members, while also contributing to the broader identity literature by further documenting how organizational participants can incorporate elements of a past professional experience into their self-narratives.

The article is devoted to the question of identity of a modern man which constantly emerges as a powerful wave and is brought up to date with new force. Thus, continuing scientific research on identity and individual identity are being held, but from a different point of view, i.e. by using modernized methodology. The purpose of the research is to substantiate scientific approaches, epistemological coordinate changes, and critical trends in the issue of identity that would allow solving the problems of nature of a modern person being. In this respect the narrative approach is considered to be up-to-date. Methodology. Interdisciplinary research perspective allowed using a comprehensive methodology where, complementing each other, there are phenomenological, cultural, anthropological, hermeneutic, systematic, historical and genetic methods and method historical-philosophical and socio-cultural comparative studies. Originality. Personal being occurs in time, and it's the narrative method, the main feature of which is its temporality and extension, that can involve all of us to self-understanding on the basis of certain turning points in our history. The compliance with relevant ethical standards in dealing with other people, and requirements of certain supra-individual structures properly correlates with our least resistant inner world view and outlook. As the narrative identity exists in the subjective sense of time, experience and understanding of the events of life, thus, despite the ontogenetic secondary of the personal identity with respect to the social one, the domination of the former one is more probable. Conclusions. The adoption of such an understanding of identity by everyone signifies a high degree of responsibility for self-constructing, which implicitly assumes not just to say "I", but first of all to define your being as a certain social debt: to another person, to society, its history and everyday life through which we get a chance to be happy.

The term "identity" expressed in a more simplistic form can be reduced to the fact that a being, an object, or a phenomenon is identical only
to itself with the specification that this manifestation is rendered objectively only at a given moment, in a certain form, because over time and under the action of external factors they can change, but they retain the unique fundamental characteristics that define them.

What explains variation in cooperation and collective action to meet community needs in Nairobi's multi-ethnic informal settlements? While elites have often politicized ethnicity in Kenya, and elections tend to heighten ethnic salience, in the times between elections, residents of informal settlements regularly engage in collective action with non-coethnic neighbors, including protecting their communities from demolition, subversively accessing services the state fails to provide, and contributing to mutual aid. Based on original data from 230 interviews in eight of Nairobi's informal settlements, I develop a conceptual model for cross-ethnic cooperation. This model applies an intersectional lens (Crenshaw 1991) to the study of ethnic cooperation, whereby shared identities beyond ethnicity, such as place and class, permit people to find points of connection with neighbors of different tribes. The model also builds from contact theory (Allport 1954) such that spatial patterns of informal settlements, including residential integration and density, lead to high levels of interaction between non-coethnics, which builds trust across tribes and facilitates formation of bonds tied to shared vulnerabilities. Together, these factors create a foundation from which residents can work together to provide for their needs in the absence of a responsive state and access to formal institutions. My dissertation makes three key contributions. First, it bolsters recent literature on ethnic cooperation, demonstrating that social contact helps overcome ethnic differences, especially when people share other identities, and that place identity in particular brings non-coethnic residents of informal settlements together in pursuit of common goals. Second, it adds to our understanding of the factors that inhibit claim-making, indicating that informality both excludes residents from the right to the city and creates expectations that the state will treat them negatively. The position of the acafan in fan studies remains under negotiation, and authors must make choices about if and how identities as fans are disclosed within scholarship. An analysis of sixty-nine articles published in Transformative Works and Cultures identified the rhetorical moves made when disclosing fan identities and assessed the trends in these disclosures that are present across a sample of fan studies scholarship. These moves of disclosure facilitate rhetorical identification between author and audience, enable negotiation of overlapping fan and scholar identities, and demonstrate a valuing of fan identities in scholarship. The question of disclosing fannish identity reflects the ongoing evolutions of the role of acafandom and questions about the intersections of identity and scholarship. Making choices and practices explicit and visible will help acafans continue to examine the dual position of fan and scholar and will help better reflect the balance between the two.

Building on recent studies of social pressure and group conformity in peer groups, I apply a social identity framework from social psychology to the study of political networks. Using the American National Election Studies (ANES) 2008-2009 Panel Study, I test several hypotheses regarding the relationship between peer networks, the salience of partisan identity, and the consequences for intergroup attitudinal and affective polarization. The findings suggest that peer network homogeneity produces the strongest association with more salient partisan identities across several network characteristics, including cohesiveness, sophistication, and density. Both the salience of partisan identities and network homogeneity are also linked to significant intergroup polarization, that is, differences in in-group and out-group partisan affect. The current research contributes to the existing literature on political networks by highlighting the role of social identities and providing a theoretical framework worth considering for future research.
