The woman's life after mastectomy in the light of Roy Adaptive theory

Objective: check the adaptation methods of mastectomies women; raise the presence of changes in the habits of life of women after mastectomy; correlate the adaptive process outlined by the woman with the theory presented by Roy and investigate the care provided by nurses to women with mastectomies. Method: For carrying out the survey was used to type descriptive qualitative approach. Results: The role of nursing in the care the woman, who had been subjected to breast surgery, encompasses care for maintenance of their bodily functions as well as support to those who are involved in the process, the individual as a whole and family. Conclusion: Roy's theory is the bases for hypotheses that can be tested.

Difficulties of health prefessionals facing the use of medicinal plants and fitotherapy

Objective: To identify the difficulties encountered by doctors and nurses on the applicability of medicinal plants and phytotherapics in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) of Caico/RN. Methods: A qualitative and descriptive study developed with 19 health professionals. The data collection occurred between January and February 2011 through semi-structured interviews with treatment and analysis mediated by thematic content analysis. Results: The subjects show that the cultural resistance of the population, the lack of knowledge of the health professionals on integrative and complementary practices (PIC), the lack of inputs in the health services and the fragility of popular knowledge hinder the use of medicinal plants and phytotherapy. Conclusion: It is necessary some investments in this area with capacitating actions and training of human resources, besides the physical and structural support. It is suggested the realization of researches along of teaching about PIC and evaluation of the egress' ability to respond to the demands in health services.
Characterization and indicative of personality disorder in university students

Objective: Evaluates the personality of Administration students at night of a University in the northwest of Rio Grande
do Sul, looking from the identification of personality traits and indicative of disorders of it. Method: Quantitative,
descriptive, conducted from April to June of 2010. It used a sociodemographic questionnaire and a neuroticism scale
factor – it investigates vulnerability, psychosocial disturbance, anxiety and depression. Results: The prevalence of
leisure activities, that are related with welfare and quality of life. In the personality evaluation was found that most of
the students showed expected scores in the four dimensions evaluated, what means that they do not show disorders
symptoms. Conclusion: A large percentage of students showed scores that were not expected in the four dimensions
evaluated, indicating that important symptoms are experienced eventually
