The paper aims to organise the issues concerning the great variety of manuscripts jointly referred to as the "election prophecy", supposedly made by Georg Joachim Rheticus. The author proposed to apply a model showing how the original text of the "prophecy", the autograph of which has not been preserved to this day, underwent contamination and interpolation after being introduced into manuscript circulation through correspondence and numerous copies, while at the same time serving as the basis for the creation of vernacular traditions of the text. These processes are depicted in source materials annexed to the paper, containing editions of the Latin, Polish and German variants of the text.

Nowadays China plays an increasingly important role in international arena and draws great attention from all over the world. Government Work Report (GWR) reflects the latest and most authoritative work of the present situation in China, which not only summarizes the past work experience, but also puts forward the future work plan. The C-E translation of 2017 GWR is a good reference for people who are interested in C-E translation of political texts and provides a glimpse of China's national conditions for foreign countries. Considering the linguistic and cultural differences between Chinese and English, the author studies the expressions with Chinese characteristics in the 2017 Government Work Report (2017GWR) from perspective of functional equivalence.

The article analyzes the "passportization" of the local, primarily Jewish, population of the Polish territories annexed to the USSR, particularly in Western Belorussia in 1940–1941. The Author considers this transformation not only as a measure of unification, but also as an important method of migration control, as well as "purification" of the social image of cities in the "new" border zone. In the focus of the article is the Jewish population. Since the majority of the Jews fitted at the same time to several paragraphs of the secret instructions on the issuance of passports "with restriction" (which in fact meant a ban on residence in the border town), they were particularly affected during the implementation of the "passportization".

In this article, I argue that while the Global South has replaced the Third World as the prevalent term for describing structural global inequalities in International Relations, little research is directed at its theoretical implications. I discuss the conceptual evolution of the term from the Third World narrative, interpreting the literature as an implicit rejection of myopic ontologies relying on economic, cultural, or political hierarchies. I then suggest connecting the terminology to the theory of functional differentiation. By avoiding forms inherited from classical social theory, the Global South can be conceptualized in a more productive way that is better attuned to contemporary theoretical discussions. © The Author(s) 2018.

This piece of work is a comment on Legal Teaching Into TheLearning Economy of Josefa Dolores Ruiz. The author analyzes the impactsof the learning economy on the legal professions and on the legalteaching. The author of the article has offered to introduce the concept of personal identification tags of military personnel. The history of such tags and their relevance for modern independent Ukraine are considered. Shared Service Centres (SSCs) may lead to job creation in the professional field in the less developed EU region. By 2015, in the CEE region, the number of employees in this sector exceeded 335 000 and the trend tends to be increasing heavily. Looking at the actual numbers of the sector, the author tries to define the main decision making factors for a SSC to settle down in the region. The author explores ethics in the process of international economic relations regulation. Special attention to ethical aspects of legal regulation of these economic relations research is given. In this examples of business ethics in national and international legislation are analyzed. The fact of ethics impact to international economic relations efficiency is emphasized. This article explores ways in which advances in genetic testing have both facilitated and democratized genealogical research for individuals in search of their &ldquo ; roots&rdquo ; or ethnic heritage. These advances coincide with the quests of people of African descent to pinpoint their precise origins and ethnic backgrounds in Africa, revelations that have been denied to many African descendants in the diaspora from slavery times to the present. Genetics and DNA as the &ldquo ; great truth teller&rdquo ; however, frequently yield results that go contrary to expectations. In this article, the author explores at a personal level the tensions that the &ldquo ; Genetic Revolution&rdquo ; produces between biology and society.

Die Autorin beschäftigt sich mit Praktiken und Debatten zu Migration und ethnisierten Differenzen, Rassismen und Antirassismus im Kontext feministischer Aktivismen in Wien. In einer Längsschnittbetrachtung von den 1980er bis zu den 2010er Jahren fragt die Arbeit, wie weiße feministische Aktivistinnen machtvolle ethnisierte Differenzen verhandeln – im expliziten Sprechen ebenso wie im impliziten Tun. Nicht zuletzt geht es um die Frage, wie in diesen Praktiken nicht nur die 'Andere' konstruiert, sondern auch 'Eigenes' hergestellt wird. ; The author analyses practices and debates in feminist activism in Vienna with regards to issues of migration and ethnicisation, racism and anti-racism. Taking into account developments from the 1980s to the 2010s the book uncovers how white feminist activists (de-)construct powerful ethnicized differences in their 'doings' and 'sayings'. It also draws critical attention to the ways in which white activists constructed their own political identities through engagements with 'other' women.

This study focuses on Economic turmoil due to issues of the Middle East and its relation to oil prices, hence transposing the crisis to other economies of the world. A qualitative and logical resigning technique is used during the study. The author finds that the Middle East has a lot of issues related to oil prices, oil production. Most important are wars and conflicts within the region, terrorism, radicalism, the influence of US in the region, week government, and issues of politics. This study provides information to the government in policy making, in investment decisions, in politics and in financial decision making related to oil prices and its production in the region

The article examines the evolution of the civil society in Romania, Hungary, and Poland. A projection is made on one of the spheres of the "third sector" activity – prevention of corruption in politics and other spheres. The author analyzes the experience of the civil society of each of the countries regarding the supervision of policy makers in terms of their compliance with the requirements of transparent activity, prevention of conflicts of interest, and prevention of different manifestations of informal institutionalization. The study focuses on the peculiarities of the forms of corruption counteraction by the civil society in Romania, Hungary, and Poland, and identifies the obstacles that hinder the anticorruption activity of the civil society actors.

This article seeks to explain the varied policy responses to the large wave of emigration from Central and Eastern European states during the last two decades, focusing on the cases of Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, and Poland. Differing degrees of emigrant engagement by these states are explained by the role of internal minorities as active members of the emigrant population and the overall political and demographic relevance of historical kin. This study contributes to our understanding of what shapes state policies towards different types of external populations. It also highlights the particular challenges of state-led transnational engagement in a supranational border regime.

An effort to separate religion from social and political role just goes on to explain that religion is private matter of human or it was an individual moral teaching. Religion is not a rule of organization, society and state, such as regulations for leadership, economic, social systems and so on. The view of secularism, which is the capitalist mainstream does not appear applying to Islam, because Islam still has tawâzun (balance) framework. One of the proofs of tawâzun, for example, is about political leadership which in Islamic perspective is in the corridor of muamalah, especially human relations with each other. For this reason, the author is interested in presenting a political leadership discourse in Islamic perspective.

Abstract In early 2018, the US House of Representatives voted down the farm bill, which contained an amendment to preempt all meaningful state farm animal welfare laws, including Massachusetts' 2016 ballot measure and California's planned 2018 ballot measure. The amendment, named after its odious author Rep. Steve King (R-IA), won the support of farm state Republicans, who voted to insert it into the must-pass once-every-five-years farm bill. And although the farm bill was defeated last week — for reasons unrelated to King's amendment — the House is likely to reconsider it by June 22. So what's going on and what can we do about it?
