Innovation is the key term of development in the modern world. Although it is of the utmost importance, there is still a lot to be done to popularize the idea of innovation, to ensure a common approach to the necessity of providing incentives, and of tightening the relevant legislation ensuring the protection of innovations and innovators. In the last decades, the legislation on innovations in Croatia has changed and improved remarkably. As a direct result of great social and legal efforts, the innovative environment flourishes, influencing directly the economic and social growth of the country. Through a review of the Croatian legislation, this paper shows the dynamics of the development of legislation in the field of innovations. The very term "innovation" has been reassessed as there was a very common misunderstanding of the difference between invention and innovation. Croatian innovators are more and more successful at global level and this has been confirmed by recent awards. The main consequences of administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine are the formation of united territorial communities and the growth of local budgets, which will further contribute to the financing of programs and projects for the socio-economic development of the regions and improve the quality of life of the population in the regions. In addition, administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine has contributed to the development of institutions that have a positive impact on social and economic development. Administrative-territorial reform in the future will contribute to the development of institutional tools for updating joint production by combining state assets with investment, management and other resources of the private sector, thus ensuring structural changes in the regional economy and capital renewal.

AbstractAddressing a global key sector area – the high technology manufacturing sector – we examine if there is truly a benefit of corporate social disclosure to the bottom line of organizations within this sector and if stakeholders should devote more attention to this strategic topic. Accordingly, we assess the potential effects of corporate social disclosure on financial performance, with a particular focus on employee and community aspects. This effect is examined for a sample of 405 companies operating within the sector. Additionally, we posit that the innovative nature of the sector adds a sub‐plot and possibly exaggerates the effect of corporate social disclosure on financial performance. The study offers guidance to stakeholders on how actions in the CSR realm may potentially affect company performance within this sector, as well as providing direction on the impact improved disclosure can have on financial performance. Collective memory is not a monolithic body of knowledge and ideas; at times it splinters, shifts to parallel modes of existence, and is sometimes disrupted. Disruptions in collective memory create social tension, which is either overcome through special procedures of commemorative "reset," or else pushed into a voiceless space. The phenomenological approach, particularly B. Waldenfels' xenological concept, is useful in analyzing disruptions of collective memory. The metaphor of "wounding" in the context of encountering the Alien, and the analysis of "healing" the lived space through interpretation, which uses the tools of the same lived space, prove fruitful in studying commemorative disruptions. The analysis of "suturing" the commemorative disruptions of the 20 th century shows that the very existence of the disruption is made visible through the use of a new narrative, which allows for a new quality of social solidarity. The collective memory of contemporary Ukraine has several lines of disruption, but we can suppose that some of these are not comprehended in society, due to the lack of an appropriate narrative. One example of such a disruption is the collective memory of displaced persons. This disruption finds its reflection in artistic projects, which strive to stress the idea that the creation of a common commemorative space for displaced persons may provoke civic solidarity, which will then help to preclude further social conflicts.
