In his study, Jürgen Heyde examines the communication and interdependence of Jews and non-Jews in Poland from the 14th to the 16th century. In doing so, he treads a new path, because instead of seeing these relationships as relationships between clearly defined groups, he focuses on the Jewish and non-Jewish actors and asks about the arenas in which their interaction was of particular importance. The focus is on politics, economics and administration; each of these arenas has its own modes of contact, communication, and interdependencies between actors, and different patterns emerge in each of these arenas. While the actors in the political arena acted primarily as representatives of social groups, the economic arena was dominated by the interaction between individuals who acted primarily on their own behalf. A particularly close interdependence was evident in the arena of administration, where Jewish actors exercised executive or even judicial sovereignty over non-Jews through their offices. Jewish actors appeared in all arenas as members of a functional elite and were also perceived as such by non-Jewish actors. The position within the social hierarchy did not depend primarily on the attribution "Jewish" or "non-Jewish", but on the function that the respective actors performed in the arenas as members of cross-cultural and religious elites

Die bisherige Historiographie zur afrikanischen Dekolonisation hat häufig entscheidende Süd-Süd-Beziehungen übersehen. Philmon Ghirmais Untersuchung nimmt daher antikoloniale Konferenzen und internationale Organisationen in den Blick, die in den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren in Ghana und Ägypten stattgefunden haben bzw. dort ihren Sitz hatten. Anhand von breitem Archivmaterial aus afrikanischen - aber auch europäischen - Ländern zeichnet die Studie nach, wie afrikanische Politiker und Aktivisten aus Kolonien und bereits unabhängigen Ländern zusammentrafen, Verbindungen knüpften und gemeinsam Wege in die Unabhängigkeit sowie transnationale postkoloniale Ordnungsvorstellungen entwickelten

International audience ; Everywhere policies are being developed to increase the access of the disabled to public transport. Comparative analysis of these policies is useful in two respects: content and process, i.e. what to achieve and how to achieve it. The first type of analysis is not unusual, the second type is. Given the general effort and the intensity of international contacts, it would not be strange to expect a convergence in policies but perhaps more so with regard to content than to process. Administrative traditions may differ widely between countries, There is extensive theorising on policy convergence. The essence of the theory is presented and the different policy levels at which convergence may occur are made operational for accessible transport policies. The policies of three European countries (France, the Netherlands and Switzerland) are compared at the level of policy instruments. It shows that in all these countries a range of instruments is used. But there are remarkable differences in the relative importance of these instruments. Both France and Switzerland rely strongly on legal instruments (law and regulations), but the Netherlands more on the transfer of information (not enforcing but convincing). Both the Netherlands and Switzerland support their policies with subsidies for adapting the infrastructure. France seems to present it as a national duty which regional actors have to fulfil. The effectiveness of these strategies is not assessed.

Um der gestiegenen wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung des Landes gerecht zu werden, beschloss der Nationale Volkskongress der Volksrepublik China, bis 2020 ein marktwirtschaftlich orientiertes Zivilgesetzbuch zu schaffen. Erster Schritt war der Erlass der General Rules of Civil Law im März 2017, eines neuen Allgemeinen Teils für das Zivilrecht. Im Rahmen einer Tagung der Forschungsstelle für chinesisches Recht an der Universität Augsburg diskutierten chinesische und deutsche Rechtswissenschaftler im Juli 2017 Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede der Rechtsordnungen sowie deren gesellschaftliche und politischen Hintergründe. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf die Teilbereiche Allgemeine Rechtsprinzipien, natürliche und juristische Personen, Recht der Willenserklärungen und das Haftungsrecht gelegt. Die Ergebnisse präsentiert der nun vorliegende Tagungsband. Er konzentriert sich auf verschiedene Teilbereiche der Reform und stellt diese aus chinesischer und bisweilen auch aus deutscher Perspektive dar.
