In the article it is performed a historical analysis of the main contributions of Anthropology to the study of the man-nature problem using different bibliographical sources. It is carried out an overview of the ecological perspective in Anthropology; the Structuralism and Symbolism, as well as the contributions of the systemic approach. Then, the cognitive symbolic approach is analyzed reaching to the Symbolic Ecology. Inside the political approach, conceptions of the World-System are collected and the three paths of the Political Ecology are described: The Neoliberalism, the Culturalist, represented by the Ecofeminism, and the Ecosocialism. Later, the contributions of Anthropology to the more specific field of farming production are described, until reaching the Agroecology and the Ethnoecology. Finally, it is pointed out the interest of the recent sociological and anthropological streams of social emancipation in order to understand the social movements of alternative ecological production and the recovery of traditional farming methods. ; En el artículo se realiza un análisis histórico de las principales aportaciones de la Antropología en el estudio del problema hombre-naturaleza a partir de diversas fuentes bibliográficas. Se realiza un recorrido de la perspectiva ecológica en Antropología; el Estructuralismo y el Simbolismo, así como las aportaciones del enfoque sistémico. This theoretical framework brings me to raise the theory of exoticism among other theories as ecofeminism and philosophy of the body as a medium of knowledge and for an eco-aesthetic reflection to understand the subject of Latin American nature. El trabajo aborda la cuestión de las trayectorias múltiples de los feminismos en movimientossociales rurales de América Latina como parte de las experiencias de participación democrática y susintersecciones con otras categorías de opresión. Con esta finalidad, se explora el caso del MovimientoCampesino de Santiago del Estero, de Argentina, y su articulación con las propuestas feministas de lasagrupaciones globales más amplias que la organización integra. El enfoque es etnográfico, con trabajode campo convivencial, entrevistas en profundidad a mujeres militantes y análisis de contenido defuentes escritas. Se sugiere que el movimiento da cuenta de la elaboración de un marco de significadopropio en relación al género,intentando resolver ciertas tensiones entre un feminismo de la diferenciao ecofeminismo extendido regionalmente y un planteamiento basado en la igualdad de roles entre lossexos, más cercano a su experiencia organizativa local. ; This work addresses the issue of the multiple trajectories of feminisms in Latin American rural social movements as a part of the experiences of democratic participation, and its intersections with other categories of oppression. For this purpose, we explore the case of the Movimiento Campesino de Santiago del Estero, from Argentina, and its connections with the feminist standpoints of the broader global organizations that the peasant movement is part of. Our approach is ethnographic, based on field work, interviews to activist women and the analysis of written sources. Findings suggest that the organization has elaborated its own significant frame in relation to gender and it is trying to solve some tensions in between difference feminism or ecofeminism, extended in the region, and a perspective based on equality amidst sexes, grounded on their local political experience. ; Fil: Pena, Mariela. Wie kann ein Umbau technischer Geräte, von Prozessen und Infrastrukturen aus einer Postwachstumsperspektive aussehen? Mit dem Ansatz der konvivialen Technik stellt Andrea Vetter eine empirische Technikethik vor, die sie durch ethnographische Erkundungen in der Technikproduktion sowie die Sichtung historischer Quellen zu »alternativer« Technik entwickelt hat. Anhand der Beispiele Komposttoilette und Lastenfahrrad arbeitet sie die zentralen Kriterien für eine postwachstumstaugliche Technikbewertung aus: Verbundenheit, Zugänglichkeit, Anpassungsfähigkeit, Bio-Interaktion und Angemessenheit.

[ES] Este Trabajo Final de Máster indaga sobre el paralelismo existente entre la amenaza que sufre el medio ambiente y la represión a las mujeres en el territorio turco, desde un enfoque ecofeminista. Durante estos últimos años, el Gobierno turco ha atacado sistemáticamente los derechos conseguidos por las mujeres a través de las luchas feministas. Entre los ataques al movimiento feminista se pueden evidenciar: el cambio de leyes, la represión en manifestaciones y el encarcelamiento de mujeres que, dentro de la política, han reivindicado los derechos humanos. Además, es importante señalar que, a pesar de los continuos ataques, las grandes cifras de feminicidios aún vigentes y las políticas que priorizan a la familia sobre la mujer, la resistencia de las mujeres en Turquía no cesa y cada vez el grito contra el patriarcado y la reivindicación por la igualdad, se hace más fuerte. Partiendo de esto, en la investigación, se propone utilizar el símil como herramienta de creación: esta figura retórica nos sirve como medio para establecer una relación entre un elemento real y otro imaginario, vinculando a las mujeres que resisten en Turquía con las plantas amenazadas en el territorio. Por este motivo, el nombre del proyecto proviene de la planta endémica Flueggea anatolica (Arbusto de Mujercita) que se encuentra actualmente en peligro de extinción. Así pues, el proyecto aplicado para la producción artística, plantea una video instalación experimental interactiva que consta de dos pantallas de proyección de videos que hacen visibles ambas luchas. En una se proyectarán las flores de las plantas animadas en un primer plano y en la otra, las manifestaciones feministas en Turquía. Frente a las proyecciones se ubica un ordenador que, a partir de una librería de detección facial, introduce a los usuarios en una de las pantallas, proyectandolos con los ojos tapados con una de las plantas de manera aleatoria. This article is divided into three sections. In the first one, we review the origin of environmental ethics and how it was expanded to achieve a transition from the limited anthropocentric vision to a broader one that integrated all living things (biocentric ethics) and ecosystems (ecocentric ethics) into its axiological criteria, also from very particular perspectives such as deep ecology and ecofeminism. Subsequently, we review how environmental pragmatism arises, the result of critical work regarding what happened with the little social and political impact of environmental ethics in its first two decades. In the second part, the origin of the study of climate change, climate denialism and the impact of fossil fuels on the Environment is reviewed, and then it is proposed to use the criteria of environmental pragmatism to stop its increase. In the third section, the poor progress made in the Climate Summits to curb climate change is discussed and how this objective should become the basis for the construction of a public good. ; Este artículo se divide en tres partes. En la primera se revisa cuál es el origen de la ética ambiental y cómo se fue ampliando para conseguir una transición de la acotada visión antropocéntrica hacia una más amplia que integrara en sus criterios axiológicos a todos los seres vivos (éticas biocéntricas) y a los ecosistemas (éticas ecocéntricas), además desde ópticas muy particulares como la de la Ecología profunda y el ecofeminismo. Posteriormente, revisaremos cómo surge el pragmatismo ambiental, resultado de un trabajo crítico respecto al poco alcance social y político de la ética ambiental en sus primeras dos décadas. En la segunda parte se revisa el origen del estudio del cambio climático, el negacionismo climático y el impacto de los combustibles fósiles en el medio ambiente, ante lo cual se propone emplear los criterios del pragmatismo ambiental para frenar su incremento. En la tercera parte se comenta el pobre avance que se ha tenido en las cumbres climáticas para frenar el cambio climático y cómo este objetivo debe convertirse en la base para la construcción de un bien público.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the extent to which the Canadian International Development Agency has integrated its Women in Development and Environmental Sustainable Development policies. First, the thesis explores the debate on Women in Development (WID), Gender and Development (GAD), Women, the Environment and Sustainable Development (WED), and Ecofeminism and discusses the relevance and importance of WED in the context of the history of development as a whole. Second, it describes the evolution within CIDA of policies related to women in development and sustainable development. Third, based largely on interviews, it examines contemporary CIDA policy in practice and the level of women's participation in three CIDA natural resource management projects to determine the level of integration of WID and sustainable development at the policy and project levels. The thesis argues that CIDA continues to suffer from a confusion of purpose within its ranks with regards to its sustainable development and Women in Development policies. It illustrates that CIDA does not fully accept either as a "cross-cutting theme" in development and that the agency lacks the necessary instruments for effective implementation and evaluation of policy in both areas. The thesis argues that CIDA needs to be more forceful in pointing out the inextricable links between women and environmental sustainability. Despite these shortcomings, it is argued that the past year (1995-96), the Canadian government has offered some encouraging signs that the degree to which the agency is alive to the issue of women and sustainable development is rising. This development offers hope that CIDA's policies may shift to ones that encourage women to participate fully and on an equal basis with men in all aspects of development. The Covid-19 pandemic threw into stark relief the multi-dimensional threats created by neoliberal capitalism. Government measures to alleviate the crisis were largely inadequate, leaving women – in particular working-class women – to carry the increased burden of care work while at the same time placing themselves in direct risk as frontline workers.
Emancipatory Feminism in the Time of Covid-19, the seventh volume in the Democratic Marxism series, explores how many subaltern women – working class, peasant and indigenous – challenge hegemonic neoliberal feminism through their resistance to ordinary capitalist practices and ecological extractivism. Contributors cover women's responses in a wide range of contexts: from women leading the defence of Rojava – the Kurdish region of Syria, to approaches to anti-capitalist ecology and building food secure pathways in communities across Africa, to championing climate justice in mining affected communities and transforming gender divisions in mining labour practices in South Africa, to contesting macro-economic policies affecting the working conditions of nurses. Their practices demonstrate a feminist understanding of the current systemic crises of capitalism and patriarchal oppression. What is offered in this collection is a subaltern women's grassroots resistance focused on advancing and enabling solidarity-based political projects, deepening democracy, building capacities and alliances to advance new feminist alternatives.

Growth in renewable energy does not displace fossil fuel use on a one-to-one basis, but rather increases the total amount of energy that is produced. As numerous scholars have argued, an energy transition away from rather than in addition to fossil fuels will require more than technology and financial capital. Here we argue that a feminist perspective on energy provides an important framework for understanding what keeps us stuck in unsustainable energy cultures, as well as a paradigm for designing truly just energy systems. Feminist approaches have been widely taken up in environmental and ecofeminist work, as well as in climate change research. In energy studies, however, gender-related research has tended to focus more narrowly on women's issues. Although this is crucial work, the focus on women represents just one dimension of what feminism can bring to the study of energy. Feminist theory also offers expertise in the study of power more broadly, which is widely applicable to the full spectrum of energy research. This article outlines a feminist energy research agenda that addresses many aspects of energy system design, planning, exchange, and use. We analyze energy along four intersecting coordinates: the political (democratic, decentralized and pluralist); economic (prioritizing human well-being and biodiversity over profit and unlimited growth); socio-ecological (preferring relationality over individualism); and technological (privileging distributed and decentralized fuel power and people power). In doing so, we show that feminism is well-suited for navigating the tangled web of power, profit, and technological innovation that comprises human fuel use. ; Published (Publication status)

Formata dal movimento dei ghiacciai quaternari, la Valle di Susa è una valle alpina nel Nord Ovest italiano. Luminoso esempio di "materia narrante", è anche terreno di scontro tra iniziative conservazionistiche e progetti infrastrutturali transnazionali. Il progetto dell'alta velocità-capacità ferroviaria, o TAV, è stato oggetto di dure critiche. Dagli anni Novanta, grandi mobilitazioni riunite sotto il vessillo No TAV dalla valle si sono estese all'intero territorio nazionale. Parallelamente, il TAV gode l'appoggio bipartisan delle forze politiche. Diversi progetti preliminari sono stati stracciati nel tentativo di sedare un conflitto quasi trentennale con le comunità locali, un conflitto che buona parte della popolazione descrive come "resistenza", riallacciandosi all'epopea partigiana contro la piaga nazista. Il 28 luglio 2017, il Movimento No TAV ha annunciato il rinvenimento della sgargiante "Zerynthia polyxena" presso il torrente Clarea. Questa farfalla è inserita nella Direttiva Habitat, adottata dall'Unione europea nel 1992 per promuovere la tutela della biodiversità. Tuttavia, l'area è stata scelta come nuovo sito di cantiere da TELT, Promotore Pubblico responsabile della realizzazione e gestione della sezione transfrontaliera della futura linea Torino-Lyon. La notizia offre una lettura inedita del rapporto fra umano, tecnologia e ambiente in un contesto di altissima tensione economica e sociale quale è la Val di Susa. Nell'Ecuba, Euripide racconta che Polissena, principessa troiana, preferì farsi uccidere piuttosto che diventare schiava. La vicenda di Polissena è il cavallo di legno che introduce nel dibattito sul progetto del TAV l'assunto per cui "la liberazione della natura così ardentemente desiderata dagli ambientalisti non potrà mai essere pienamente ottenuta senza la liberazione della donna" (G.
