The article represents an attempt to investigate qualitative aspect of internationalization process within the context of Ukrainian system of higher education. Internationalization has been viewed as a reaction to the global transformation processes, as well as a unique possibility for Ukrainian higher education to ensure its integrated transformation according to European and world trends. Based on the research on the theory of internationalization, international education, overseas recruitment and mobility, issues of quality in higher education have been discussed, as well as a number of practical rationales for internationalization of higher education applicable within the context of Ukrainian higher education system have been outlined. Based on the rationales educational outcomes of internationalization in Ukrainian higher education have been substantiated.
Under the terms of a secret agreement reached between China and Portugal in 1979, Portugal was to continue administering Macao but sovereignty was transferred to China. Eight years later however, the Sino–Portuguese agreement on Macao's future was signed, which stipulated that it would become a Chinese Special Administrative Region on 20 December 1999. Whereas the transitional stage from Portuguese to Chinese administration began in 1987, political development started in 1976 when the principle of democracy was introduced into the colonial legislature (two years after a military coup had toppled the regime of Marcello Caetano in Portugal). This article will explore aspects of Macao's political development since the Portuguese revolution in 1974.

Bis heute wird der Tod Karls VI. und der Regierungsantritt Maria Theresias 1740 als eine einschneidende Zäsur in der österreichischen Geschichte gesehen. Doch nun stellt sich vor dem Hintergrund eines weitergefassten Schnittstellenbegriffes (Reinhart Koselleck) die Frage, ob der zweifellos grundlegende Wandel zwischen 1720 und 1780 nicht differenzierter gesehen werden muss. Ausgehend vom Raum des Wiener Hofes, an dem der Herrscherwechsel in seinen Auswirkungen am ehesten dokumentiert werden kann, wird aus der Sicht sogenannten Hofkünste versucht, Kontinuitäten und Diskontinuitäten aufzuzeigen. ; Until today, the death of Charles VI and Maria Theresia's ascending the throne 1740 is seen as a major turning point in Austrian history. But now is the question of whether in different "layers" and "rooms" without doubt fundamental change between 1720 and 1780 not differentiated must be seen against the background of the concept of interface ("Sattelzeit"/Reinhart Koselleck). On the basis of the space "Viennese court", where the change of rulers in its effects most likely can be documented, attempts from the perspective of different disciplines (the so called "Hofkünste" – literature/poetry, arts, theatre/dance, music) point out continuities and discontinuities.
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATION AND SOCIOPOLITICAL IDEOLOGY WAS EXAMINED USING A SAMPLE OF SWEDISH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. TWO BASIC ASPECTS OF EDUCATION WERE FOCUSED ON: FIELD OF STUDY AND EDUCATIONAL DIRECTION (ACADEMIC/VOCATIONAL), WITH CONTROLS FOR LENGTH OF EDUCATION, SEX, AND SOCIAL BACKGROUND. THE RESULTS DISCLOSED THAT (1) THE ASSOCIATIONS WITH FIELD OF STUDY WERE HIGHLY SIGNIFICANT FOR ALL SOCIOPOLITICAL ATTITUDE FACTORS, TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS BEING THE MOST CONSERVATIVE AND HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENTS THE LEAST CONSERVATIVE, AND (2) THE ASSOCIATIONS WITH EDUCATIONAL DIRECTION. (ACADEMIC/VOCATIONAL) WERE WEAKER BUT SIGNIFICANT FOR SOME ATTITUDE FACTORS. FURTHERMORE, (3) DISCRIMINANT ANALYSES REVEALED TWO HIGHER-ORDER DIMENSIONS (SOCIAL AND POLITICAL-ECONOMIC CONSERVATISM) DIFFERENTIATING THE EDUCATIONAL GROUPS, AND (4) TENTATIVE CAUSAL ANALYSES INDICATED THAT THE DIRECTION OF CAUSALITY HAS NO UNEQUIVOCAL ANSWER BUT DEPENDS ON WHICH ASPECTS OF EDUCATION AND IDEOLOGY ARE DISCUSSED.
The British government white paper, Excellence in Schools & the subsequent report of the Advisory Group on Citizenship, Education for Citizenship, recommend that schools educate pupils in citizenship & democracy. This recommendation is considered in the context of reasons why there has traditionally been no formal or well-articulated political education in schools. Among these reasons a pervasive antipathy to politics & to government is identified as one of the most powerful. This antipathy is expressed from the left & the right wings of the political spectrum, & the "critical" opposition to both, as well as from interests such as those defending professional & personal autonomy. These arguments imply that "politics" is optional, not a set of practices & institutions with which individuals must be familiar. It is argued that this proposition cannot be valid. На примере Германии показана связь старения с миграционной политикой и возможными внутриполитическими изменениями. На примере Китая и США показано влияние старения на расстановку сил в борьбе за мировое лидерство.
