Problems of disable people were a very important social issue in the Second Republic of Poland. Social policy towards them was not unitary. It dealt with issues of war invalids (veterans and civilians), casualties of work accidents (who were insured) and poor disabled people (uninsured). A legal basis for these activities of the state and local governments was different and the support for the particular groups of disabled people was also various. The war invalids received more support than others. The help involved e.g. pensions, health care, prostheses and a chance to get a job. The casualties of work accidents received pensions and health care but their benefits were fewer than benefits for war invalids. Poor disabled people were in the worst position. The state, local governments, charity organisations tried to help them but their possibilities were too small in relation to the needs. Poor disabled people received neither benefits nor health care, they could not expect the help in retraining and finding a job and only few of them could count on a place in care facility (the number of these places was too small).

Modern demographic situation in Germany is characterized by the large number of conflicts and problems, caused by migration. In their center stand Muslim groups. Their lack of solidarity and multifaceted nature poses a serious challenge to the social policy of FDR, which relies on the cooperative model established in relations with nongovernmental actors. However, organizations representing Muslim interests encounter powerful cultural, ideological and institutional barriers in their unsuccessful attempts to become part of the existing system. The article analyzes causes of systematic violation of subsidiarity, neutrality and parity principles in relations to Muslim associations. One of the main goals of the search for better system is understanding factors of successful partnership between state authorities and Muslim organizations. Therefore special attention is given to educational projects.

This article analyses the digital divide between disabled and non-disabled people by comparing their personal information capacity. The personal information capacity consists of four subcategories: the "access index," "capacity index," "quantitative usage index" and qualitative usage. Using the Oaxaca model, we separate the digital divide into two parts: the digital divide caused by "disability" and that caused by "other individual characteristics" such as education and household income. The main findings of the article are as follows. All four indices are lower for disabled people, and the "usage indices" of disabled people are particularly low compared to that of non-disabled people. As regards young people, "disability" is a much more important factor than "other individual characteristics" in causing a digital divide in their personal capacity index. Regarding middle-aged people, the digital divide between the two groups is mostly caused by "other individual characteristics", among which education is the most important. "The austerity crisis and threat to disability rights When public services are cut, disabled people are the hardest hit, and they number 3.7 million people in the UK. In Crippled, leading commentator Frances Ryan tells the story of those most affected by this devastating regime. This includes the man with a degenerative neurological condition forced to crawl down the stairs because the council wouldn't provide accessible housing; the young girl sleeping in her wheelchair and admitted to hospital with malnutrition. Ryan also charts how, in the austerity era, the public attitude towards disabled people has transformed from compassion to contempt: from society's most vulnerable to benefit cheats. Through these personal stories the book shows the scale of the crisis, while also reporting on how the disabled community is fighting back. It is a passionate demand for the recognition of disability rights and a call for an end to austerity policies that disproportionately affect those most in need"--

The first group of respondents comprised 360 clients of rehabilitation centers, social and occupational rehabilitation centers and physiotherapy-rehabilitation departments in Slovakia, specifically Bratislava and Trencin. The second group of respondents consisted of 30 rehabilitation and social workers employed in these facilities. This research employed quantitative and qualitative research strategies. The conducted research also highlighted the importance of the creation of complex theoretical and empirical bases concerning social rehabilitation and its role in the integration of people with disabilities into society. The results of the research have also shown the need to raise professional awareness of the importance of complex rehabilitation and its modern trends and, last but not least, the need to improve the level of professional education in the field of complex rehabilitation and social rehabilitation.
