Contrary to a common conviction, original sin is one of the fundamental Patristic issues, because it is the starting point of Patristic anthropology and sets the stage for the need for salvation. The Church Fathers before Augustine did not used the term "original sin", but described its reality, having the greatest possible feeling for the mystical unity of mankind with its first ancestor. As regards the issue of the unity of human nature in Adam, the East and the West speak with one voice, which is first to be found in Irenaeus' works. The purpose of this work is to address the Patristic issue of the unity of humankind in Adam – the concept present in both Eastern and Western Christianity - that can be traced back to Irenaeus.

PALABRAS CLAVEDios, carne, carnalidad, Pablo, IreneoABSTRACTThis article sustains that the mythic christian rationality begins to unfold from an irruption or event: the return of the flesh. Contrary to the equalization of christianity to a spirituality, this article proposes life according to the flesh as a tessitura of critical thinking that, as a dissatisfied gesture, rereads and recalls its mythical tradition. Rereading and recalling are not desperate resources in times of loneliness, instead political positions against the disaggregating and emptying of our traditions. From the evangelical tradition even looking Irenaeus of Lyon, we can witness the intention to think about the irruption of the flesh.KEY WORDSGod, flesh, carnality, Paul, Irenaeus

Welfare, Ethnicity, and Altruism applies the controversial theory of 'Ethnic Nepotism', first formulated by Irenäus Eibl-Eibesfeldt and Pierre van den Berghe, to the modern welfare state (both are authors in this volume). This theory states that ethnic groups resemble large families whose members are prone to cooperate due to 'kin altruism'. Recent empirical findings in economics and political science offer confirmatory evidence. The book presents two separate studies that compare welfare expenditures around the world, both indicating that the more ethnically mixed a population become
