The Nordic cities should be given greater legislative possibilities to reward the use of zero-emission vehicles. This legislation may include the possibility of introducing some form of environmental zone or levying traffic fees in urban areas. Cities are advised to put together packages deploying a raft of instruments that mutually reinforce one another. As a basic package, most cities should work with improved conditions for zero-emission vehicles as charging and / or tank infrastructure, requirements for zero-emission vehicles in public procurement of vehicles and services, complementary measures that increase the supply and attractiveness of alternatives to the car, as well as measures that promote sustainable mobility and urban development independent of vehicle technology. It is also important that improved charging capabilities for zero-emission vehicles go hand in hand with an environmentally friendly parking policy. Increased demand for zero-emission vehicle charging points will then be a good reason to review the city´s parking policy. Under the right conditions ambitious cities can implement a more comprehensive policy package with a combination of various forms of zero emission zones or fee systems. To fully implement these measures, cities must have a high proportion of zero-emission vehicles in the fleet as well as strengthening possibilities for residents to move around freely without having to own a car. ; The foremost purpose of this study has been to provide recommendations to Nordic cities about how zero-emission vehicles can be promoted in harmony with social and environmental constraints, as well as economically sustainable mobility and accessibility considerations. Overall, the assessment is that cities can play an essential role in the transition to a climate-neutral transport sector. As climate goals are tightened, it will also become increasingly important that cities, countries and the EU speed up their ambitions and actions.

Abstract There has been an increase in environmental awareness since Costa Rica promised to be carbon neutral by 2021. Governmental organizations such as a high school in Santa Elena and Earth university have taken it upon themselves to fulfill this initiative through the implementation of more environmentally conscious technologies, i.e. a biodigester at a local high school in Santa Elena. The problem was that there was no sort of investigation understanding how the community within the school and the town's community would react to this new addition. We were also asked to give information to the school so that they may better understand how the biodigester will affect them and may track the progress of their carbon neutrality. Free-listing, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and participant observations were methods used in order to understand the school's community and the town's community's perceptions of animal waste water management. pH, BOD5, soil nutrient tests, and total and volatile solids were used to analyze surrounding biodigesters and provide suggestions to the school. The school's surrounding water supply was also analyzed in order to understand the environmental impact of the school before the biodigester is implemented. We realized that the youth had been exposed to technologies like biodigesters much more than older generations; but the older generations had much more expertise in other forms of animal waste water management. Through the lab results we understood that the school will experience environmental benefits from switching from an anaerobic lagoon to a biodigester not in the increase of the cleaning of the waste but mostly the methane collection; it will provide a source of saving while decreasing the emissions of the greenhouse gas. Document de recherche du LEO - DR LEO 2005-30 ; In this paper, we aim at testing whether press conferences held after the meeting of the ECB's monetary policy council steer market short- and long-term interest rates in the euro zone. To meet this goal, we "codify" the statements according to whether they are neutral, hawkish, or dovish. We show, using a principal components analysis of euro-zone (short- and long-term) interest rates that the euro-zone's market rates, react significantly to the bias in statements, and more particularly to changes in statements from one meeting to the next. If we study separately the reaction of short- and long-term interest rates to change in statements, the short end of the yield curve reacts more sharply to statements than the long segment. We show that the effect of statements peaks on interest rates with a maturity of six or twelve months and is smaller for the longer maturities. Using non-parametric tests confirms our previous results.

AbstractThe article is devoted to violence that took place in the Polish-Lithuanian borderland after the Great War. Using the theoretical insights of Stathis Kalyvas (2006), the author explores violent actors, types, and the dynamics of violence in the conflict over the neutral zone between Poland and Lithuania between 1920 and 1923. The focus is on the experiences of civilians and the social impact of violence on the formation of their national identities. The author suggests that violent ways of nation making forced the local populace to adopt national identities to ensure their security, but the process of forced nationalization was limited and may have resulted in the emergence of indifference among certain groups of the population.

AbstractObjectiveTo present clinical strategies for prosthetic rehabilitation with complete dentures (CDs) of a Parkinson's disease patient.Case reportAn 82‐year‐old patient sought the Department of Dentistry at UFRN, reporting retention dissatisfaction and hamper to the mandibular CD adaptation. Patient‐reported a dry mouth sensation, and exhibited disordered mandibular movements, tremors, and resorbed mandibular ridge. Aiming retention and stability, double molding with zinc enolic oxide impression paste, neutral zone technique, and non‐anatomic teeth were proposed as clinical strategies. At delivery, identification and relief in the supercompression areas were performed to facilitate the acceptance and use of the new dentures.ConclusionThe strategies promoted patient satisfaction regarding retention, stability, and comfort. This treatment may be considered for the rehabilitation of Parkinson's disease patients, favoring the adaptation process.
