To maximize the quality of life (QoL) among persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Malaysia, it is important to identify factors that are strongly associated with the QoL of PWDs. The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of QoL among PWDs in Malaysia. A cross-sectional study approach was applied covering 340 participants with hearing impairments, visual impairments, and physical disabilities. A multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the determinants of QoL. The seven QoL domains namely physical health, psychological, social relationships, environment, discrimination, autonomy, and inclusion were considered as dependent variables while demographic profile, socio-economic status, and disability history were considered independent variables. The contribution of independent variables to most of the QoL domains was modest. This study found that type of disabilities is a significant determinant for physical health, psychological, environment, discrimination, and inclusion domains. Meanwhile, the level of education is a significant determinant in the environment and autonomy domain. It was also found that age group is a significant determinant in the psychological domain. Meanwhile, employment status is a significant determinant in physical health domains. However, self-rated health is not significant in the discrimination domain. Both PWDs with good health conditions or PWDs with unhealthy conditions face the same experience of discrimination. These findings supplement the existing knowledge and contribute to future research, service planning initiatives, public education, and policy formulation. Furthermore, this study may aid social service stakeholders in evaluating the effectiveness of current activities and identifying trends for future planning.

Papaya fruit (Carica papaya L.) is one of the most widely farmed fruits in Malaysia, and produced for domestic consumption and exported worldwide. Papaya fruit is susceptible to anthracnose, a fungal infection caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides that negatively affects fruit quality and shelf-life. The common disease control approach utilises fungicides such as prochloraz as a postharvest application. However, public concerns regarding the health risks of fungicide residue on food have created interest in safer and greener alternatives. As a result, hot water treatment at 54°C for 5 min was investigated in order to reduce or replace the reliance on fungicides. Results showed that papaya fruits treated with hot water presented a higher reduction in disease incidence and severity. Additionally, hot water treatment preserved the physicochemical properties, prolonged shelf-life, and increased the papaya fruits' total phenolic and flavonoid contents while up-regulating metabolites that are involved in stress tolerance.

The emergence of new technologies such as AI, machine learning, and so on drives the discussion over human consciousness among researchers from various disciplines, particularly those from philosophy of mind and computer science. This is true since certain academic theories argue that new technology like this is much more efficient at simulating human tasks. This allows the discussion concerning human consciousness to acquire attention among researchers interested in learning more about human consciousness. As a result, this study gives a bibliometric analysis of human consciousness research from 2000 to 2022 to provide researchers and academics worldwide with an overview of the outcomes and trends in human consciousness research. A textual query on two databases; Scopus (1413 articles), and PubMed (258 papers) using the term "human consciousness" was conducted on 16 August 2022 collecting 1671 academic works from 2000 to 2022 relating to human consciousness research for in-depth study. Bibliometric analyses were performed using Rstudio software version 4.2.0 and biblioshiniy for bibliometrix to show and current of human consciousness research. This bibliometric study was examined the yearly scientific publishing growth, the most productive authors, most often term has been utilised, most renowned journal name, and which nations has maximum cooperation with other country. According to the findings of the study, there is significant inconsistency in worldwide patterns in yearly scientific output, with the number of publications growing and declining. Among all nations, United States of America (USA) published the most papers around human consciousness study. According to the research that has shown the most relevant contributors is Jun'ichi Takeno (Scopus), and Brian L Edlow (PubMed). Moreover, the most famous journal in human consciousness research includes Journal of Consciousness Studies (Scopus), and Frontiers In Psychology (PubMed). The significance of this study may aid new researchers in this area by offering information on important publications and authors to reference while undertaking research on this issue. Furthermore, this research helps other researchers understand current trends in this field of study. As an outcome, the objective for conducting this study is to give bibliometric analysis and to fulfil research gaps in bibliometric studies of human consciousness by giving information in the form of an overview, and suggestions.

In Johor, especially Nusajaya is one of the most rapidly developing cities. This is due to the increase of land demand and population growth. Moreover, land-use changes are considered to be one of the major components of current environmental monitoring strategies. In this context, image segmentation and mathematical model offers essential tools that can be used to analyze land use detection. The image segmentation process is known as the most important and difficult task in image analysis. Nonlinear fourth-order models had shown to have a good achievement in recovering smooth regions. Therefore, these motivate us to propose a fourth-order modified geodesic active contour (GAC) model. In the proposed model, a modified signed pressure force (SPF) function has been defined to segment the inhomogeneous satellite images. The simulations of the fourth-order modified GAC model through some numerical methods based on the higher-order finite difference method (FDM) have been illustrated. Matlab R2015a software in Windows 7 Ultimate on Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3230M @ 2.60GHz CPU with 8 GB RAM has been considered as a computational platform for the simulation. Qualitative and quantitative differences between modified SPF functions and other SPF functions have been shown as a comparison.
