Political and constitutional change in China

The author narrates in this paper what has been happening in China since 1979 from his own experience and his personal views, in order to explain what reform means and looks like in a socialist country like China. He thinks that the most palpable defect of the existing system in this country is that it still shows no rule of law, and has weak judicial power. Campaign of the opposition forces against "spiritual pollution" in 1983-84 and against "bourgeois liberalisation" in December 1986-January 1987.
