NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS: CONTRIBUTIONS IN A CHANGING WORLD
Trends on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and their impact in the changing world are emerging issues in the academic literature. Although documentations on NGOs are farfetched, scholars on the subject have delved into research in successive turns since the late 1990s. The Non-involvement of the down trodden-the peasants, rural dwellers, women and children and the handicapped on political, economic and social spheres have had a negative impact on development globally. That is why, issues on Non-Governmental Organizations couldn't have come at a better time than now. The chapters in this book are holistically set to address the lopsided nature of policy issues of democratic regimes and governments. For example, the problems being encountered by people suffering from conflict/violence, hunger, basic education, disease and general under development index in Africa and the world at large can be appreciated from this context. This book is therefore recommended by the editor and authors of the respective chapters for all readers – scholars, students, diplomats and government functionaries, as well as the general public to pick copies of the book and share with friends. The book is also recommended for students at both tertiary and pre-tertiary levels of the academia.
