This paper sets up a general equilibrium model, in which firms are heterogeneous due to productivity differences and workers have fairness preferences and hence provide full effort only if their factor return is sufficiently high. With the wage considered to be fair by workers depending on the operating profits of the firm in which they are employed, more productive firms in this setting are not only larger and make higher profits but they also have to pay higher wages due to rent-sharing. This mechanism leads to wage differentiation even if all workers share the same individual characteristics. We use this framework to study worker-specific effects of trade between two symmetric countries. Exporters in this setting make higher operating profits and hence have to pay higher wages than non-exporters. This exporter wage premium provides a source for losses from trade and, all other things equal, makes a negative employment effect of trade more likely. Furthermore, it contributes significantly to a general increase in intra-group income inequality among production workers when a country moves from autarky to trade.

From September 1973 to March 1974, more than 250,000 persons have been moved from one side of the Asian sub-continent to the other in a vast operation involving the extensive co-operation of the ICRC. It was possible for this repatriation operation to be carried out only through the positive stand adopted by the three countries concerned and the co-operation shown by Switzerland, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the ICRC. Since the end of the Second World War, this is the most extensive repatriation operation undertaken by the ICRC, and its sheer size compels us to give in the pages that follow a summarized account of what has been accomplished. The relief efforts, though of considerable magnitude, undertaken by the ICRC since 1971 in support of prisoners, internees and civilians in the Asian sub-continent, will not be touched upon here, as they have been mentioned on several occasions in past issues of the International Review.

The authors examined the degree of congruency found in a sample of 61 college students between a preference for a specific counseling orientation, measured using the Counseling Orientation Scale (COS; L. C. Loesch & R. J. McDavis, 1978), and a dominant Holland type, measured using the Self‐Directed Search (SDS; J. L. Holland, 1994). Results revealed a moderate degree of congruency between the 2 scores. Implications of the findings for counselors are discussed.

A commander-in-chief or supreme commander is the person who exercises supreme command and control over an armed forces or a military branch. As a technical term, it refers to military competencies that reside in a country's executive leadership, a head of state or a head of government. An Army commander is a senior officer who has supervisory and decision-making responsibilities. The title of commander refers to duties and does not correspond to any one pay grade. Only the Navy and Coast Guard use "commander" as an official rank. All branches of the military group personnel according to ranks within the categories of enlisted, warrant officers and officers. Each corresponds to a pay grade that is standard across all the services. Enlisted ranks are designated E-1 through E-9, warrant officers are W1 through W-5 and officers are O-1 through O-10
