AbstractSimon Armitage defines his own position as a poet as on the border where urban and rural environments meet. I explore how the influence of this geographical location can be traced in Armitage's poetry, both in its content, and in its form. The paper ends with a consideration of Armitage's hybrid poetic voice and how this too reflects a borderland identity.
In the present work the author takes into account the criteria of some experts regarding the rural environment, definitions that adjusted to the Cuban context allow to address a series of characteristics that are reflected in one of the popular rural councils of Granma, Dos Ríos, evidencing in the same as the public policies applied, have not favored it at all, analyzing it through two productive bases. It also takes into account the measures implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and the projection of the municipal government to enhance local development, based on the endogenous resources that they have, resources that in this case are concentrated in this area of the periphery, which is devoid of gears that link it with better performance and at the same time this can be reversed within the communities that are part of their environment. The objective that is proposed is: Analyze the application of public policies in rural areas, taking as reference the Popular Council of Dos Ríos.
