Speeding is the number one road safety problem in a large number of OECD/ECMT countries. It is responsible for around one third of the current, unacceptably high levels of road fatalities. Speeding has an impact not only on accidents but also on the environment, energy consumption and quality of life, particularly for residents in urban areas. Reducing average speeds on the roads by only 5% will save around 20% of current fatalities. There is good experience available on how to quickly reduce the extent of speeding and thereby reduce current fatalities and injuries. Reduced speeding will also reduce the adverse environmental and social impacts associated with excessive speed, particularly in urban areas.
Dams are one of the major water sources for irrigation, electricity generation etc.in India. Dams play a vital role since the time of colonialism. Lack of proper dam management system have been causing several losses including the recent flood that struck in Kerala. Inspired by the existing rural and socio-economic problems, an innovative and feasible automatic control system can be developed for dam management purposes. This paper also proposes a novel idea of collecting and sharing real-time information about water levels to the people living nearby its bank. Highly precise water level monitoring system and timely report to the locality is also developed. When the water level crosses the threshold condition, alert messages will be sent to the people and the shutters will open automatically, retaining water to its normal level. Timely warnings to every person living in the locality and timely opening of shutters can thereby reduce the risks of loss of life and prevent disasters. Hence, automation of dam system using Arduino, ultrasonic sensor, GSM module and motor, creates a new eye for both the Government as well as the people in the locality for creating mitigation plans.

Being one of the basic elements of ecosystem forest is considered a public good and as such is subject to detailed legal restrictions. Particular kind of legal instruments of sustainable forest management is the planning instrument. Conducting planned activity is indispensable for effective administration, especially in spheres where both the action and the results pertain to a long term perspective. Implementation, by the Legislator, of sustainable forest management based on the idea of activity which leads to achieving normatively determined state inclines to making use of planning instruments. Indispensability of planning acts in the execution of sustainable forest management has been expressis verbis prejudged by the Legislator in article 7 of AoF, which states that sustainable forest management is executed in compliance with the forest management plan or the simpli2ed forest management plan. 4is solution is considered correct and should be granted an endorsement. Di7cult to accept, however, is the state of legal regulation of forest management plans, which constitute a fundamental instrument for the concept of sustainable forest management. Indeterminacy of legal forms of administrative action upon approving plans, and doubts regarding their legal character do not benefit their functioning resulting in vagueness, which leads to the state of legal uncertainty.
