The purpose of this paper is twofold: that Heavy Metal is a genre
of popular music is simply a given, so the author begins by exploring some
of the aporia should one attempt to research such a form of music in an
academic context. Making the claim that popular music (and this includes
heavy metal) involves multiple aspects that are outside the aesthetics of
music, yet conceding that the genre of Heavy Metal (following Deena
Weinstein) follows a 'code' which includes much which informs some of
the more submerged facets of the self and the wider culture, the author
has decided to explore how Symphony X has incorporated John Milton's
'Paradise Lost' for the purposes of their album of the same name. The
author proposes that although Symphony X's album is an expression of the
'Dionysian' side of Heavy Metal, the band has incorporated those aspects
which are most likely to attract the common reader and does not attempt
an engagement with Milton's wider concerns.

In this article, the author critically analyzes the "Proceedings of the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR" of 1932 edited by Academician N. Derzhavin. The author notes that the analyzed collection contains good scientific articles, as well as propaganda articles, which are unacceptable for a purely scientific publication. In particular, the author notes the thesis of the Russian scholar N. Derzhavin on the political nature of science, on the need to consider the past through the prism of class struggle. S. Narizhny pays special attention to the analysis of the works of Ukrainian researchers, first of all V. Peretz and M. Hrushevsky, and also singles out the articles published in Ukrainian in the Russian journal. At the same time, the analysis of Hrushevsky's article on the chronicle of Samovydets is the most thorough in the article. Thus, this article is of interest for the history of Ukrainian Slavic studies and the intellectual history of Ukrainian emigration in interwar Europe.

In this article, in a specific historical context, the author analyses the essence and key aspects of the alterations and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, adopted at the republican referendum on 27 February 2022, based on comparative legal and formal legal methodology. The article deals with the prerequisites and conditions for constitutional developments in order to improve the constitutional model of the state and society, the author grounds their timeliness and objective necessity. Based on the activities of the Constitutional Commission (March 2021 – January 2022), which summarized the proposals of citizens, the author arguments the optimality and legal accuracy of the constitutional and legal formulations of the updated Constitution, the complexity and consistency of constitutional and legal regulation. Doctrinal approaches to the legal regulation of modern social relations, developed in the case-law of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus, served as the foundation for theoretical developments to improve the constitutional and legal structures of the Constitution.

The beauty of Tiv language and literature is achieved when communication or discourse is laced with euphemistic expressions. Euphemisms aid in turning impolite utterances into polite ones. This study, therefore, investigates the communicative potentials of euphemisms in the Tiv language and literature. The study discusses formations of euphemisms, classifies euphemisms and explores the effects of euphemisms. Connotative theory of meaning has been deployed in this study because the interpretation of euphemisms is contextually and connotatively loaded. Methodologically, the author used primary and secondary materials. The author used a participant-observation tool for data collection. Being a native speaker of the Tiv language, the author collected, translated and classified euphemisms. Secondary materials were sourced from textbooks, journal articles, online sources and dictionaries. The following findings were made: euphemisms constitute phrasal or idiomatic synonyms; they beautify or spice our daily communication; they can becloud meanings. This study will benefit preachers, writers, lecturers/teachers, researchers, semanticists, public speakers, politicians and students.

In this article the author examines the process of economic adaptation of resettlement farms in the context of the imperial strategy of attracting the Orthodox population to the region. The article proves that the migration movement in Turkestan in the second half of the 19th — early 20th century was of great state importance and the settlers acted as agents of colonization; belonging to the Orthodox community became the basis of solidarity for the resettlement community. Based on an analysis of unpublished archival sources, the author revealed that the empire used the religious identity of the settlers, which became a mechanism for the state selection of settlers for migration in the region for effective build a migration policy to Turkestan. The author concludes that the state policy towards sectarians and Old Believers was ambivalent: their migration to the region was restricted by legal mechanisms and at the same time their settlement was allowed and not prosecuted because of the high success rate of economic farms.

The author begins by providing a summarized timeline of the beginning and development of surrealism in Egypt, with a focus on the activities of the Art and Liberty group, inspired and established in 1939 by Georges Henein. Nearly 50 years later, in 1986, the author published Surrealism in Egypt and Plastic Arts (Cairo: Ministry of Culture, Foreign Cultural Relations, 1986), a historical account of surrealism in Egypt and the artistic and societal impact of the Art and Liberty group within this context. He offers the reader a glimpse into his interest and intention in writing Surrealism in Egypt and a selective account of and his rebuttal to certain critics of his book. The author concludes by reiterating the importance of this era and the activities of the Art and Liberty group and by recommending that another, deeply researched book be published to surpass Surrealism in Egypt that includes the international or non-Egyptian relationships and activities of this group of writers and artists.

AbstractThe author examines the Kosovo crisis in the context of the pluralisation and democratisation of Slovenian society in the 1980s and early 1990s. This issue became a catalyst not only for the repositioning of structures of party leadership in relation to Belgrade, but also with respect to general public debates. By charting individual stages of the critical decade of 1981–1991, the author presents Slovenian perceptions of Kosovo's political, economic, and social issues, first through the works of neo-Marxist critics and later through the activism of a group of left-liberal intellectuals, which included the provision of legal support and a high-profile social action related to the violations of Kosovar Albanian human rights. The author discusses the constraints encountered by this brief attempt to establish a pan-Yugoslav civil society initiative. At the same time, he shows how the complexities of the Kosovo crisis were used to coalesce the Slovenian nation into flight from Yugoslavia.

The research objective that the author means is to find out how the unity of the body of Christ in the church can be carried out properly according to 1 Corinthians 3: 3-9. moving on from the core written in the text above, the author wants the whole congregation to understand the unity of the body of Christ correctly today, given the importance of the unity of the body of Christ in the church, so that some of the more mature congregations in the faith must support the congregation that is not yet mature faith. This writing is intended so that all God's people understand well that the unity of the body of Christ is not to become divided because of disagreements, divisions and differences of opinion. but the body of Christ is the one that brings God's people better together. Some of the things that concern the author in this study are how the congregation can understand the unity of the body of Christ correctly.

The article is devoted to the study of literary and biographical connections between the collision of Ivan Goncharov's first novel "A Common Story" and the conflict between Fyodor Dostoevsky and his guardian Pyotr Karepin. Analysing biographical materials, the author hypothesises that Fyodor Dostoevsky, meeting with Ivan Goncharov, while the latter was working on "A Common Story", could partly influence the creation of the main collision and central images of the novel. Noting the plot and figurative convergence, the author of the article also shows the ideological difference between Ivan Goncharov and Fyodor Dostoevsky in the presentation of the conflict between uncle and nephew – two different minds, worldviews and representatives of two different generations. The author of the work presents significant and interesting correspondences between the life and creative paths of Ivan Goncharov and Fyodor Dostoevsky, noting the similar literary influences experienced by both writers, and also points to salons and literary circles where they could meet.

Abstract By comparing and analysing four cross-national measures of democracy, this article provides novel information regarding the statistical properties, convergence, and interchangeability of some of the most frequently used measures of democracy. The author points out limitations related to the statistical properties of these measures and finds that even if measures of democracy are highly convergent, their interchangeability is weak. This means that the choice of the measure of democracy has considerable consequences for the conclusions of a given study. Especially so in studies covering the last few decades, because the author finds that in general the interchangeability of democracy measures has decreased since the 1980s. In choosing one measure over another, scholars should be aware of the limitations identified in this article. To overcome problems related to weak interchangeability, if a single measure cannot be credibly chosen on theoretical grounds, the author recommends users of the measures to validate their findings with multiple measures of democracy.

This article discusses the #metoo movement in the Polish theatre. The author, referring to the thesis by Agnès Grossmann, notes that just like in the cinema, in which #metoo was initiated, the theatre reproduces images of women subjected to the male gaze. She then looks at how this problem of representation translates into the working conditions of women in the theatre. The paper presents the current state of research and actions regarding violence (including sexual violence) in theatres around the world. Applying these considerations to Poland, the author writes how this problem resonates with the situation of women in Poland. In the context of the theatre, the location of substantive and practical preparation for #metoo were theatre schools. Surveying events in the two most important and prestigious centres of theatre education, the author first makes a diagnosis of existing problems and then examines the process of combating them through the prism of Sarah Ahmed's concept of "walls" and the affective theory of paranoia and reparation according to Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick

In early Islamic biographical dictionaries, mawālī (the plural form of mawla) appears as an essential term for recognizing ethnicity in early Islamic scholarship. Unfortunately, few hadith studies of contemporary scholars about what, how, and why mawālī is necessary to be studied in an interdisciplinary manner. The following article will examine Sa'id b. Jubayr (d. 95 hijriyah) mawālī from the tabiin generation, originally from Ethiopia (Habashah). The reason for choosing this character was due to two things. First, he was a pious type of person [the narrator of hadith]. Second, the activism he undertook to balance the Umayyad dynasty. Through sociological-geographic studies, the author traces biographical dictionaries and early books of Islamic history. The author reconstructs the discourse of ethnicity in the study of hadith and shows the role of non-Arabs in the early days of Islam in building Islamic scholarship. The author concludes that tyrannical citizenship politics encourages new non-Arab Muslims to carry out activism on the one hand and choose the intellectual path on the other to find social justice.

The author discusses the legal framework of the legislative activity of 'free' (that is, not confederated) Sejms. He discusses parliamentary practice between 1778 and 1786 after a thorough analysis of the king's legislative initiative with special emphasis on proposals submitted by the throne, and the role played by the Permanent Council in drafting laws. The author argues that numerous bills drafted by envoys had little impact on the results of Sejms because after the election and control of the executive authorities ended, there was no time to examine the drafts. Sejm decisions could be divided into two categories: a) decisions made before the separation of two chambers – concerning elections (of executive and judiciary authorities) and vote of acceptance for the Permanent Council; and b) legislative decisions made during further proceedings, with a special subcategory in the form of provisions related to the control over executive powers. The author also provides a quantitative analysis of legislative output between 1778 and 1786.

Abstract: Educational games are games that can be used as educational games that aim to increase knowledge and insight to users. Until now the problem is the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic or often called the corona virus. This virus attacks many humans regardless of age. Covid-19 spreads very quickly, so basically the Government emphasizes a healthy lifestyle by following health protocols. The government recommends doing the 3M movement, washing hands, wearing masks, keeping a distance. In this study the author wants to create an educational game for a healthy lifestyle in preventing the spread of the covid-19 virus. the utilization method used utilizes the Construct 2 application, the Construct 2 application can run the application that the author wants to make. Testing a healthy lifestyle educational game application by utilizing black box testing. Then the programming language used is HTML 5, the design used by the author in this application is limited to problem identification, problem formulation, objectives, analyzing the required data, testing application conclusions.
