While much of the mobility of displaced populations is within the Global South, the scholarship around the criminology of mobility is largely United States/Eurocentric. This article proposes a Southern feminist ethico-political lens from which we can view or engage with the criminology of mobility. The article first highlights the epistemological bordering processes and its implications in academic knowledge production. It then discusses the multifaceted processes of state bordering and the ways in which they produce difference and othering. The article further explores the role of transversal and situated intersectional feminist politics to undo them. It offers epistemological and methodological possibilities by engaging with concepts of reflexivity and accountability, vagueness and fuzziness, spatio‑temporality, embodiment and resistance. It argues that reconfiguring our understanding of these concepts in light of the research experiences within South Asia, a Global South context, will offer crucial ontological, epistemological and methodological insights for the criminology of mobility and lay the groundwork for a Southern feminist approach.

The development of the Zentralarchiv (ZA) at the U of Cologne (Germany) -- Europe's oldest social science data bank -- is described. An earlier data archive, the Roper Center at Williams Coll in Mass, was the basis for the ZA. Elements of the ZA system are analyzed: data storage & retrieval, & documentation & acquisition policies. In 1969, a decision was made to cease most of its clearing-house functions & to develop a new research institute; these efforts are described, especially the cooperation with the Center for Surveys, Methodology, & Analysis & other organizations. An overall coordinating infrastructure for social science research was founded in 1983. Recent developments under this structure are described, eg, international computer conferences, workshops, seminars, & consortia. The ZA & other data archives are regarded as instruments of international cooperation, providing access to evolving technology. 1 Reference. S. Dilts

Social scientists play an increasingly important role in the prosecution and defense of both criminal and civil matters before the courts. An expanding area of forensic sociology and criminology involves the analysis of crime foreseeability and security standards of care as they relate to the question of liability for negligent security. Criminologists analyze prior crimes at a location and consider the totality of circumstances in order to determine foreseeability. If there is a duty to provide security, the efficacy of these measures is then considered. Forensic sociologists and criminologists also examine liability issues pertaining to workplace violence and personnel administration. Levels of analysis appropriate for courtroom testimony are discussed.
