The present study investigated the developmental trajectories and the possible antecedents (e.g., gender, school track, academic achievement, self-esteem, parental affect, and monitoring) of 17- to 21-year-old young adults' engagement in their studies and work. The study is part of the longitudinal Finnish Educational Transitions (FinEdu) study involving 804 participants. The results revealed four latent trajectory groups of study and work engagement: high increasing (72%), low increasing (14%), high decreasing (9%), and low stable (5%). High parental affect and high self-esteem among 16-year-old adolescents manifested themselves as an increase in engagement in studies and work during the transition to work or higher education in early adulthood. Moreover, a lower level of parental affect resulted in a decrease in subsequent engagement.

This study uses a discordant sibling-based design to assess the extent to which education is proxying for pre-adult experiences and predispositions rooted in the family. It draws on a unique data set that combines official voting records with Census data on siblings and their parents. The results show that the association between education and voting is considerably reduced when parental education, parental voting and unobserved characteristics that are shared by siblings within the same family are taken into account. This finding is confirmed by a variety of robustness checks. We end with a discussion of the benefits and limitations of sibling-based designs for testing causal hypotheses.

This article contextualizes corruption and implementation as it occurs in the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd). Described as a national agency suffering from 'systemic corruption', an in-depth qualitative case study analysis of one of its programmes is imperative. The Programme on Basic Education (PROBE) hailed as a success and which has managed to be relatively free from corrupt activities is the focus. Providing findings from a study undertaken on PROBE participants from the three main islands of the Philippines, this article analyzes the various organizational factors that have an impact on the prevalence and absence of corruption and the enabling and disabling elements of successful implementation.
The progress of globalizing technology has influenced all aspects of life both in the economic, political, cultural arts and even in the world of education. The development of science and technology is one of the productivity results of humans who have the knowledge gained from education. Where the development of science and technology has broad implications in human life, it is expected that these humans need to explore to take advantage of its benefits optimally and reduce the existing negative implications. Educational technology is only possible to be developed and put to good use when there are workers who handle it. They are skilled or experts in carrying out activities. The world of education, like it or not, must carry out a comprehensive innovation, means that all devices in the education system have a role and become a factor that is so influential in realizing reliable human resources and the success of the education system.Keyword: Education Technology, Education Transformation, Human Resources

This article argues that higher education plays a key role in Myanmar's sustainable economic development and democratic transition. Establishing legal frameworks, supporting the implementation of institutional autonomy, incorporating citizenship education, and making full use of the country's ASEAN membership are recommended.
