Den Befragten ab 36 Jahren aufwärts wurden zusätzlich folgende Fragen
gestellt: Einschätzung des Faschismus; Existenz von Ausbeutung in der
BRD; vermutetes Demokratieverständnis bei den Mitgliedern der
Vorkriegsgeneration; politische Partizipation; mögliche Intensität
eigenen politischen Engagements; detaillierte Angaben über frühere wie
auch derzeitige Mitgliedschaft in Organisationen und Vereinen;
Intensität der Mitarbeit; Grad der für möglich gehaltenen Partizipation
und Rollenübernahme in etablierten Parteien sowie Bürgerinitiativen und
Gruppen alternativer Lebensformen wie Arbeits- und Wohnkollektive; Grad
der eigenen emotionalen Berührtheit von politischen Terroranschlägen
bzw. Morden; politische Feindbilder bzw. Personengruppen, auf die man
einen besonderen Haß empfindet; Charakterisierung des eigenen
Sozialverhaltens und der Rücksichtnahme auf andere (Skala); Beurteilung

This article examines three fundamental questions with respect to the place of e-government in graduate education for careers in public service. First, where does e-government fit in the curriculum of graduate programs in public policy and administration? Second, might we expect the answer to this question to vary depending on the institutional home and type of public affairs degree? Third, should we expect programs to offer a required course on e-government or should we aim to integrate material on e-government throughout the curriculum? These questions are approached through standards developed for public affairs education in the United States, but they are examined in the context of international variations in governance, technology and education. The article first traces the development of e-government across the globe, summarizing important issues and consideration that government must answer as they pursue e-government initiatives. It then reviews standards that have been developed for public affairs education in the U.S. and turns to the question of how to incorporate e-government in the curriculum. E-government involves much more than technological and information management questions. Thus, it has implications for the entire public affairs curriculum. It is unlikely that a single course can successfully covers technical, managerial, and policy dimensions of e-government. For most programs, it will be more productive to explore e-government across a range of courses in the existing curriculum. The approach that is taken is likely to be affected by institutional settings, resources, and faculty competencies. It is also likely to be shaped by the broader social, economic, and political environments in which programs operate. Although the stage of e-government development in the country is likely to make a difference, we can also hope that our training will also shape e-government's development.

This study investigated the socio-cultural factors affecting integration into the formal education system in Katsina State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted for this study. There were 653 Almajiris purposively selected from twelve Almajiris schools in Katsina State. A researcherdesigned questionnaire titled: ''Almajiris socio-cultural factors questionnaire'' (ASCFQ) with test-retest reliability coefficient of 0.88 was used to collect data for the study. Analysis of data was carried out using frequencies and percentages. Findings revealed that most parents abandon their children in these informal Arabic schools. Most Almajiris (603, that is 92.3%) responded that their Mallams (Teachers) do not feed them. Therefore, the only means of survival is through begging and doing menial jobs. Based on these findings, it is recommended that all the identified socio-economic factors affecting the integration of Almajiris into the formal education system should be addressed by the government. This can be done through public enlightenment campaigns and provision of incentives.

Despite the predominance of perspectives on women's leadership, which consistently emphasize the underrepresentation of women in virtually every sphere of political and economic life in countries around the world, very little is known about women's leadership, especially in higher education, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This has resulted in a gap in the literature, since higher education is one area of employment where Saudi women have made progress, and in spite of complex social, religious, cultural and organisational barriers, some have broken through the glass ceiling into higher education leadership. One goal of this paper is to highlight, through a synthesis of existing literature, the current state of women's higher education leadership in Saudi Arabia. The second goal of this paper is to propose new directions for future research to address the current dearth of empirical work on women's leadership in higher education in Saudi Arabia. This may be relevant to other regions of the Middle East and elsewhere.

Bilingual education has had a complex and controversial history in the United States. Bilingual education evaluators have been hampered by a lack of administrative support, a controversial political environment, and numerous technical difficulties. Since bilingual education programs are quite complex from an evaluation standpoint, it is not at all obvious how evaluators should best proceed in order to design and conduct useful evaluations. This article reviews part of the history of bilingual education and its implications for evaluation practice. Technical problems in conducting a bilingual evaluation are identified and strategies for coping with these problems are discussed. These strategies are based on the evaluation design that has been developed and implemented statewide in Connecticut. Finally, strategies for improving evaluation capabilities and for using evaluation results at the federal, state, and local levels are presented.

This article addresses the issue of marketisation in the field of adult education by reflecting on the Europeanisation of education currently taking place through the establishment of European adult education policies. The article argues that Europeanisation fosters marketisation of adult education and commodifies valuable knowledge and desirable forms of neoliberal subjectivity. An analysis of Slovene adult education policies from 2004-2015 reveals how a European economised vocabulary is being implemented in Slovene adult education policies and practices. The main argument of this article is that these practices are shaped through financial mechanisms that marketise the adult education field. This results in new relationships between governing bodies within the field, the unstable and decreasing role of public adult education institutions and the prevailing role of private providers of adult education, who offer training programmes to meet labour market needs.
