This study aims to describe the implementation of big data on social media in carrying out crisis communication. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through a literature study. The results of this study also emphasize three aspects, namely: 1). The government must define a crisis because to understand a crisis, of course, we must start by defining it first. Each crisis that arises is accompanied by its own characteristics. 2). The government can use Big Data information sources to accelerate the implementation of government programs. 3). One of the efforts to look at big data to identify problems is to carry out the stages of social media. In the era of advances in communication and information technology, the existence of social media can no longer be separated from the activities of the world community.

This article provides an overview of the diversity of feminist activism throughout the world over the last decade and situates these contributions to a transnational feminist (re)surge(ence) within the context of French and Francophone cultures. This article also offers a synopsis of the seven articles in this special issue, each of which engages with specific aspects of feminisms spanning diverse French and Francophone regions including Algeria, Canada, France, Haiti, Kanaky/New Caledonia, Te Ao Mā'ohi/French Polynesia, and Senegal. These contributors' articles focus on the work of writers who share a demonstrated commitment to social change or who attest to the power of writing to heal personal and collective trauma, to raise critical awareness of social injustices, to inspire social and political transformations, and to imagine more pro-feminist, expansive, inclusive, and equal societies.

Each country has its own criteria for the upper middle class. On the other hand, it is clear that even the general principles that define the middle class in different countries differ markedly between them. The US and British criteria are often compared. The role of the family as an element of social stratification is important in the British upper middle class model. The article advocates the influence of family stratification on the formation of the upper (and not only) middle class in Lithuania. Not only does the upper middle class have self-employment, its income is above average and it has higher education, it also influences, identifies trends and fundamentally shapes public opinion (an aspect of its 'social role'). The broad upper middle class is not so much a guarantor of the welfare state but of social stability in the country.

Integration is a multidimensional process, which can take place in different ways and at different times in relation to each of the single economic, social, cultural, and political dimensions. Hence, examining every single dimension is important as well as building composite indexes simultaneously inclusive of all dimensions in order to obtain a complete description of a complex phenomenon and to convey a coherent set of information. In this paper, we aim at building an immigrant integration composite indicator (IICI), able to measure the different aspects related to integration such as employment, education, social inclusion, active citizenship, and on the basis of which to simultaneously classify territorial areas such as European regions. For this application, the data collected in 274 European regions from the European Social Survey (ESS), Round 8, on immigration have been used.

In the present interview, Jürgen Habermas answers questions about his wide-ranging work in philosophy and social theory, as well as concerning current social and political developments to whose understanding he has made important theoretical contributions. Among the aspects of his work addressed are his conception of communicative rationality as a countervailing force to the colonization of the lifeworld by capitalism and his understanding of philosophy after Hegel as postmetaphysical thinking, for which he has recently provided a comprehensive historical grounding. The scope and relevance of his ideas can be seen from his reflections on current issues, ranging from the prospects of translational democracy at a time of resurgent nationalism and populism, to political developments in Germany since reunification, to the role of religion in the public sphere and the impact of the new social media on democratic discourse.

In this article, I analyze self-disclosure in autoethnography and the various degrees of risk experienced by researchers based on social position. I use autoethnography to consider the possibility of researcher empathy that relies on sensory connection between self and other. I use my personal experience with car accidents to analyze cultures of empathy and caregiving. Connections among self-disclosure, empathy, and social action are explored. In autoethnography, the researcher takes on the risk of being subject as well as observer and self-discloses personal information as a way to make clear possible bias and awareness of the partial and political aspects of research observation. I use autoethnography to consider the political hope of feminist research to raise consciousness of injustice and encourage new emotional awareness (empathy) on the part of the community as catalyst for social change.

This is a chapter of a book containing the results of a study entitled 'Old and New Forms of Poverty—The Lifestyles of Poor Families,' which was conducted under the direction of Elżbieta Tarkowska in the second half of the 1990s. The author presents the social world of poor people in Poland, and two of its aspects in particular: the limitation of interhuman contacts to the family circle, and the role of institutions such as parishes, schools, and especially social support, in resolving the ongoing problems of daily life. Social policy, as reconstructed from the statements of people living in poverty, is oriented toward temporary activities and not toward shaping aspirations and behaviors, and yet the sole method of overcoming the apathy and helplessness accompanying long-term poverty is to arouse aspirations in the sphere of education.

The Nine Symphonies of Beethoven also represents a significant moment in Andriessen's oeuvre, after which he was to question and subsequently refashion his approach to socio-politically engaged composition. A parodic collage of Beethoven quotations, The Nine Symphonies of Beethoven presents an abrasive postmodernist critique of aspects of musical tradition and concert practice, prior to his ensuing development of more constructive musical manifestations of his social and political convictions.

ABSTRACT The 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development or "Earth Summit" that was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil had established Agenda 21 which contain the blueprint for sustainability in the 21st century. Malaysia, in achieving the 21 Agenda had formulated initiatives and efforts to achieve the objective of sustainable development in all aspects, particularly social, economy and environment. This research analysed steps and efforts taken by government to achieve target of Vision 2020 to be a fully developed nation in terms of economy, social justice, political stability, quality of life and social values. Other than that, this research analysed the challenges and dilemma faced by Malaysia that can hinder Malaysia to achieve the sustainable development holistically and recommendations to overcome this challenges and dilemma. Основное внимание авторы уделяют факторам, обусловившим смену приоритетов в семейно-брачных отношениях, на примере татарской семьи. ; The authors present the analysis of the family and marriage relations system formed in Russia during the period between the XXth the beginning of the XXIst century, study the process of the historical transformation of family as a social institution in social-historical aspect: peasant family, then family social unit modern democratic family, and pay special attention to the factors that conditioned the change of priorities in family and marriage relations by the example of the Tatar family.

AbstractThe paper discusses how the power perspective has been considered and discussed in qualitative social studies on the use of mobile phones in practices at home, work and public places. Some themes relevant from the aspect of power negotiations were extrapolated from the reviewed literature: constant availability at home and work, and the mobile phone as a public status symbol in respect to its design and use in space, time, and social surroundings. The review also aims to show how social variables affecting the adoption and use of the mobile phone have so far been analyzed in research. The writers conclude that mobile phones have been interpreted to reproduce and renew traditional power hierarchies. Still, more nuanced research is needed to understand the micro‐mechanisms of power in the socio‐cultural contexts of the use of mobile phones.

How do reform-oriented social movements in authoritarian states get off the ground? I argue that authoritarian regimes can actually facilitate social movement mobilization by making it easier for movement leaders to form opposition coalitions. When authoritarian states experience a political opening, certain structural aspects of these regimes will ease the process of coalition formation. I describe three ways in which these states facilitate mobilization: (1) they offer a straightforward set of least-common-denominator goals; (2) they establish incentives for existing organizations to get involved; and (3) they enhance the role of protest events in building cohesion. To make my case, I analyze the Egyptian Kefaya movement, a social movement whose diverse members had never meaningfully worked together before and whose nine months of sustained street protests defied expectations that it would collapse under regime repression.

The article characterizes the efforts of national and international statistical services to better adopt contents and forms of statistics dissemination to changing requirements of primary user groups. A statistical information importance for socio-economic decision makers is discussed in the study. There are some demands for statistics concerning improvement of the citizen life condition and quality measurement taking into consideration rational aspects of the nature and culture resource management. Special attention was paid to assess today statistical information systems as well as change proposals presented in the Stiglitz-Sen-Fitoussi Report on Economic Performance and Social Progress Measurement. The authors discuss activities concerning the welfare and social progress measurement conducted under the aegis of the OECD, i.e. World Project on Social Progress Measurement as well as studies conducted within the European Statistical System.
