The 2013 Go Home vans marked a turning point in government-sponsored communication designed to demonstrate control and toughness on immigration. In this study, the authors explore the effects of this toughness: on policy, public debate, pro-migrant and anti-racist activism, and on the everyday lives of people in Britain. Bringing together an authorial team of eight respected social researchers, alongside the voices of community organisations, policy makers, migrants and citizens, and with an afterword by journalist Kiri Kankhwende, this is an important intervention in one of the most heated social issues of our time.

Varoufakis gives a detailed account of a saga that gripped international public opinion two years ago, propelled him to international stardom and ended in economic and social disaster for the Greeks. The book is readable and interesting, even if it is full of the author's familiar hyperbolic statements. European history is an exciting mesh of interrelated facts and events, crossing countries and cultures. However, historic knowledge is usually presented to the non-specialist public (museum or city visitors) in a siloed, simplistic and localised manner. In CrossCult, an H2020-funded EU project that started in 2016, we aim to change this. The impact of EU membership on the UK constitution has been profound. In the Miller (Article 50) case, the Supreme Court described the effect of the European Communities Act 1972 (ECA) – the means by which EU membership was given effect within the UK – as being unprecedented in constitutional terms. Not only did it provide for a new source of law, and a new constitutional process for making law in the UK, it also fundamentally changed the UK's system of government and the way in which we think about the location and exercise of public power.

There is an urgent need of earthquake forecasting model for Nepal in this current scenario. It can be developed by the scientists of Nepal with the help of experienced international scientists. This will help the Nepalese to take timely and necessary precautions. We would argue that above all we need to use earthquake prediction knowledge to improve the disaster prepardness in local communities, service providers (hospitals, Non-Governmental Organizations, police, etc.), government policy-makers and international agencies. On the whole, both seismology and public health are most successful when focusing on prevention not on prediction per se.

This paper describes the importance of Neutrosophy Theory in order to find a method that could solve the uncertainties arising on discursive analysis. The aim of this pilot study is to find a procedure to diminish the uncertainties from public discourse induced, especially, by humans (politicians, journalists, etc.). We consider that Neutrosophy Theory is a sentiment analysis specific case regarding processing of the three states: positive, negative, and neutral. The study is intended to identify a method to answer to uncertainties solving in order to support politician's staff, NLP specialists, artificial intelligence researchers and generally the electors.

In recent years, Latin American countries have been at the global forefront of remarkable confrontations, debates, and shifts in the understanding of citizenship. The region has undergone profound transformations in the conceptualization of citizenship and of migration and residency. The frontiers of citizenship have ebbed and flowed with crises of political representation and mounting protest; of multiculturalism and demands of recognition; of labor migration and transnationalism; of struggles around gender, ethnic, and racial issues; and new international articulations and public insecurity. This dossier addresses some of these shifting frontiers of citizenship.

This study aims to know the student of IAIN Surakarta's responds to the effective policy of deradicalization conducted by the government to reduce radicalism and terrorism. Based on the qualitative method the study revealed that seminar/public lecture becomes the key program to prevent radicalism, but it much needed the synergy work between government and students. The Panel recommends that: an Impact Assessment Commission should be established as an independent, arm's length government agency, "with a broad leadership mandate to conduct project, region-based and strategic-level assessments. …. The Commission would also be mandated to generate its own independent science so that assessments are evidence-based and agency-led… and the Panel should commit to ensuring that the projects are not developed without the early involvement of potentially affected Indigenous peoples and the public. Since the early 2000s international development agencies have actively promoted social protection as a new global public policy. This process can be understood as flowing from related shifts within the global political economy and of development ideology, and involved international development agencies deploying strategies of governmentality to 'render technical' social protection, and cash transfers in particular, as the logical solution to myriad development problems, including within Africa. The paper places this move in historical perspective and examines the role that a particular aid agency played in shaping the transfer of cash transfers to Africa.

When monetary and fiscal policy are conducted as in the euro area, output, inflation, and government bond default premia are indeterminate according to a standard general equilibrium model with sticky prices extended to include defaultable public debt. With sunspots, the model mimics the recent euro area data. We specify an alternative configuration of monetary and fiscal policy, with a non-defaultable eurobond. If this policy arrangement had been in place since the onset of the Great Recession, output could have been much higher than in the data with inflation in line with the ECB's objective.

In recent years, plastic pollution has received an increasing amount of interest from researchers, politicians, and the public. Microplastics (<5 mm) are a particular concern as they are suspected to accumulate in the environment and aquatic life [1]. Microplastics originate from various sources and can remain in the environment for hundreds of years before they finally decompose. However, the accumulation level and the effects on the environment and aquatic life are poorly understood. This is partly due to a lack of standard analysis protocols and current analytical techniques that are prohibitively time consuming and thus impractical.
