In the constant endeavour to improve their public speaking skills, legal professionals must be aware of the main aspects that they have to control and of the framework that they may use for that purpose. The elements of oral communication, politeness strategies, persuasion strategies, the main coordinates of verbal and nonverbal communication are surveyed in this article with the purpose of setting a point of departure for people working in the legal field who want to master the art of public speaking in order to become more credible, more efficient and more successful in their professional field.

This paper puts forward the question of the correlation between the religiosity of Bosniaks and their identity, which has gone through numerous phases through the centuries-long process of evolution of ethnonational collective consciousness and very often reflexively influenced the content and manifestation of the phenomenon of religiosity. From a contemporary sociological perspective, through methodologically based research, it was necessary to redefine the phenomenon of the religiosity of Bosniaks and determine its real impact on identity construction. During the research, it was determined that Islam is not a key and dominant identity basis for Bosniaks, but is selectively accepted through the traditional aspect, subjected to the process of adaptation, and used (instrumentalized) only as a cohesive and identifying tool, provided Bosniaks with the substratum of collectivity and crucial specificity of their identity.

In this paper, we deal with the concept of transport policy, then follow the goal and development of the transport policy of the European Union. We present chronologically the measures adopted by the European Parliament in the field of transport policy (collection of taxes for the use of road infrastructure, passenger rights, road safety, the technical condition of vehicles, intelligent transport systems, road infrastructure safety, statistics, and prevention of accidents caused by alcohol and cross-border sanctioning in the field of road safety). Also, the paper analyzes the state of transport from the aspect of security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as how Bosnia and Herzegovina as a European country and on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration is gradually taking on obligations from the EU transport policy with the aim of progress and development.

It aims to provide information on the physics and physical processes, indicators, monitoring, mitigation, and geology of these natural hazards. This open access book explores how digital tools and social media technologies can contribute to better participation and involvement of EU citizens in European politics. By analyzing selected representative e-participation projects at the local, national and European governmental levels, it identifies the preconditions, best practices and shortcomings of e-participation practices in connection with EU decision-making procedures and institutions. The book features case studies on parliamentary monitoring, e-voting practices, and e-publics, and offers recommendations for improving the integration of e-democracy in European politics and governance. Accordingly, it will appeal to scholars as well as practitioners interested in identifying suitable e-participation tools for European institutions and thus helps to reduce the EU's current democratic deficit. This book explores how federalism — a unique, social, and political reality that influences policy development and implementation — contributes to shaping cultural policies in a variety of federations. Building on the cases of a wide variety of countries, including Argentina, India and Australia, this book presents the typical and distinctive institutional challenges that federalism brings to cultural policy. In particular, this book emphasizes four dimensions: the institutional and constitutional division of cultural powers; the governmental structures of cultural policy and the dynamics of cooperation and competition established between subnational and federal powers; local cultural policies, capital cities, and the place of municipal government; and the development of subnational cultural relations. Finally, this book also acknowledges the diversity of federations and federalisms and provides a portrait of different types of relationships between federal institutions and the cultural sphere

This book proves that each religious dogma, in any of their components, contain in an encoded manner a specific ranking of human comprehensive mega-objectives, implicitly, a specific preference for absolute wealth or, in a more common parlance, for the objective of economic performance. In turn, that specific preference, under ceteris paribus condition, determines the share of believer's general resources which is channeled to economic performance. An in-depth or correct understanding of a religious dogma, which makes sense for terrestrial social realities, is impossible without a specific model of decoding. Additionally, such a model is simply impossible within an orthodox Western, that is, non-transcultural perspective. There is no accident that all Western efforts to decode religions, economic or non-economic, have failed. Understanding religion based on its face story is very precarious, if not even dangerous.

This book takes a new approach on understanding causes of extreme poverty and promising actions to address it. Its focus is on marginality being a root cause of poverty and deprivation. "Marginality" is the position of people on the edge, preventing their access to resources, freedom of choices, and the development of capabilities. The book is research based with original empirical analyses at local, national, and local scales; book contributors are leaders in their fields and have backgrounds in different disciplines. An important message of the book is that economic and ecological approaches and institutional innovations need to be integrated to overcome marginality. The book will be a valuable source for development scholars and students, actors that design public policies, and for social innovators in the private sector and non-governmental organizations.​

The demise of the modern self-centred subject does not engender a waning but a politicisation of affect: The site of passion is now no longer the individual's interiority but the contact zone of intersubjective encounters. The public and political status of the emotions thus becomes apparent, making visible how affects are embedded in and shaped by discursive regimes. Neither spontaneous nor overdetermined, passion is therefore not the other of reason but a deeply social energy that fuels political, cultural and everyday practices. The Politics of Passion combines theoretical reframings of affect and emotion in global modernity with analyses of concrete instances of politics of passion from above or from below. By including debates and struggles in Western, Asian and African contexts, the volume attends to the actual plurality of affective rationalities and politics beyond a Eurocentric framework

Il présente le travail mené lors d'un stage de six mois effectué au sein de l'Archive du patrimoine immatériel de la Navarre, ou Navarchivo, à l'Université Publique de Navarre, à Pampelune. À travers des missions de documentation, de travail de terrain par la collecte, et de diffusion, ce stage consistait en la sauvegarde et la valorisation du patrimoine culturel immatériel de la province basque de Basse-Navarre. Ce travail a été inclut dans l'objectif du projet de centre documentaire mis en place par la Chaire du Patrimoine Immatériel de l'Université Publique de Navarre, qui sauvegarde des entretiens, valorise leur contenu par un site internet ainsi que par les publications et manifestations qu'elle organise. Finalement, ce centre documentaire, en mettant à disposition ses témoignages, se veut représentatif de la mémoire collective et de la culture actuelle de la Navarre et de la Basse-Navarre. Le stage effectué dans cette structure a donc été formateur et diversifié, permettant d'aborder divers aspects de la sauvegarde et de la valorisation du patrimoine immatériel.

As machine-readable data comes to play an increasingly important role in everyday life, researchers find themselves with rich resources for studying society. The novel methods and tools needed to work with such data require not only new knowledge and skills, but also a new way of thinking about best research practices.
