The aim of this study is to have aview of the implementation of the policy regarding women trafficking in the North SulawesiProvince. The method of the research through a qualitative approac, which is case study, throughin-depth interview, focus group discussion, observation as well as study of related documents,victims story and triangulation. The studies shows that the implementation of women traffickingpolicy covered the content of the policy and the context of the implementation. Based on theexploration of the both factors , in fact that the implementation of local policy on women traffickingis working, although it didn't achieve as it is expected yet. The role of politics appearence sodominance influence the process, causes so many constrain in the program so far.

While politics are known to be prevalent at managerial levels, there is currently little insight into what drives managers to engage in organizational politics and whether there are gender differences in this respect. In the current study we explore the concept of political will by using a qualitative approach based on 14 semi-structured interviews with managers (five men and nine women) in a global semiconductor company. We identify key dimensions of managerial political will consisting of three attitudinal ambivalences: functional, ethical and emotional. We also examine gender differences along these dimensions and discuss managers' political will in the context of a masculine organizational setting. We conclude by discussing the theoretical and practical implications of the findings and further research directions. © 2012 British Academy of Management.

International audience ; Immersive Virtual Reality (VR) systems offer vast opportunities in terms of scientific research as well as in terms of industrial applications. However their construction and maintenance costs remain an issue. It is therefore essential to find means to easily and safely share VR equipments among multiple users in order to reduce such costs, as well as democratize their use. In this paper, we analyze the interest of virtualization techniques to administrate, maintain and share complex VR systems among multiple users with heterogeneous needs in software, drivers, operating systems and peripherals. Despite the general idea that vir-tualization techniques strongly impact performance, we show that these technologies can be a viable solution with a careful selection of virtualization tools and graphics hardware.

Pakistan has a long standing problem of child labor. Its motives and fundamental reasons are multifold and complex. Although, Pakistani child labor yields large number of profits to their families and economy of country but this phenomenon is a vulnerable part of Pakistani society where millions of children are suffering from paid, unpaid or underpaid labor. There are many factors involved and rooted in Pakistan's diverse socio-economic, political, linguistic, and demographic destitution. This is a quantitative research in which 439 Pakistani samples, through likert-scale based questionnaire, provided groundwork for having an updated substantial solution to control this problem. This study also explains indispensable individual, social, government level solutions for elimination of child labor from Pakistan.

Wissenschaft kann nur dann ohne Rückgriff auf Ideologie mit Zukunft umgehen, wenn sie sich nicht auf die Erzeugung von Wissen, sondern auf das Kenntlichmachen von Nicht-wissen-können konzentriert und mit plausiblen Gedankenexperimenten anstatt mit vermeintlichen Erklärungen über Zukunft arbeitet. Accreditation is widespread among human service agencies, yet it remains understudied. To build a strong evidence base, the accreditation experience needs to be understood from agencies' perspectives. This study focused on 5 child and family service agencies' experiences to explore the challenges, costs, and lessons learned from undergoing the accreditation process through the Council on Accreditation (COA). In-depth interviews, focus groups, document reviews, and limited observations reveal agencies' different approaches to delegating the work and variance in the length of the process according to COA's recommendations. While the self-study was the most demanding component, many employees described a positive site visit experience. Results highlight implications for agencies and COA. The policy context and need for further research are also discussed.

This cross-national study examines the effects of infotainment on cynicism about politics in Denmark, Britain and Spain. Drawing on panel surveys and media content analyses the study distinguishes between privatization and personalization elements in infotainment content and tests for their separate effects on political cynicism. The results suggest that the differential presence of infotainment elements is more consistent among countries than between media or news outlets. Exposure to privatization content has a positive effect on cynicism across the board. Exposure to personalization elements only increases cynicism among segments who are more interested in politics, and it decreases cynicism among the less interested segments. The results are discussed in the light of research on conditional media effects.

Through smartphone measurement software, researchers will be able to collect vast amounts of log data on the use of mobile media and applications. The present paper discusses the opportunities of smartphone measurement software in multi-method research, but also the ethical and methodological issues involved. We provide suggestions on how to deal with obvious privacy issues that arise from using smartphone measurement software. We also discuss how one can deal with sampling and selecting respondents. An illustrative study in which we applied smartphone measurement suggests that methodological and ethical issues can be overcome in practice, although doing so requires a great deal of effort. Still, collecting data through smartphone measurement is highly promising as both the quality and quantity of the resulting data is impressive.

Interrogating the terminology of "mobile" communication, this article notes that media and communicative practices have been mobile for millennia. What's mobile about cell phones and other current mobile media is a new range of contexts in which personally meaningful and socially consequential interactions become possible. Mobile media should be studied, above all, as resources of social action across physical space. Mobile media, further, provide the wider field of research with an opportunity to revisit the great divide between technologically mediated and embodied communication. Technologically mediated communication remains grounded in human bodies residing in local places. Humans can be understood as a first degree of media whose communicative and performative reach has been extended in time and space by historically shifting technologies.

In this article the author works with posthuman research practices to think with and through the natureculture figure of the pet–dog–child to explore specific dog practices she keeps encountering within the postcolonial nexus of Hong Kong, Britain, and China. By tracing, gathering, and reassembling six knotty aspects of the pet–dog–child figure (i.e. population governance, gender-expressive dogs, the Peke, Victorian sentimentality, becoming 'common', and designer dog-bags) the author shows how connections, movements, and disjunctures about pet, dog, and child emerge. By situating Hong Kong dog practices within colonialist flows and disjunctures, the author opens up space for thinking differently about childhoods as situated and gestures towards new ways of reconfiguring Hong Kong childhoods.

Although past research on the expression of belief in a just world (BJW) identified such statements as judgment norms, it has not ascertained whether their social value holds when individuals refer to good and bad outcomes. We investigated whether this is the case – a more stringent test of the "BJW as judgment norms" view. Participants judged the targets on two dimensions of social value: social desirability and social utility. We hypothesized, and found, that high versus low BJW buffered the negativity of the associated negative dimension(s) of discourses and boosted the positivity of the associated positive dimension(s) of discourses. This buffering-boosting pattern is discussed as revealing the system justification functions of the expression of BJW.
