Background: Over the past 5 years, the number of Vietnamese migrant workers in Japan has grown rapidly to become the largest group of migrant workers in the country. They hold various statuses of residence and are subjected to multifactorial stressors. Aims: The current study's aim is to investigate the association between psychological distress experienced by Vietnamese workers and their work environment. Another aim is to discuss issues involving migrant workers by comparing the characteristics of workers in the major statuses of residence. Methods: The study applied a cross-sectional design, and included a nationwide self-administered online questionnaire that was conducted in Vietnamese in 2022. The questionnaire included the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10), workplace interpersonal factors as well as factors related to work and health. A multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to investigate factors associated with psychological distress. Results: Of 933 Vietnamese workers, 37% were grouped as distressed under the K10 cutoff. Fewer opportunities to speak with Japanese co-workers, lower welfare and workload ratings, and the visa statuses including 'Technical Intern Training' were significantly associated with psychological distress. Unexpectedly, those in 'Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services (ESI)' category who are deemed to hold better conditions demonstrated the highest amounts of distress. Conclusion: Outside of unsatisfactory working environments, differing situations depending on status of residence could produce various sources of distress. The difficult aspects of Japan's distinct culture seem to contribute to their distress, especially for those who have more interactions with Japanese co-workers. A push for a multicultural society, where migrant workers can pursue proactive life designs of their own choosing, is warranted.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the culture of democracy in the leader-manager dichotomy within the framework of educational philosophy. As it is known, many definitions of the concept of democracy have been made so far, and since these definitions differ for everyone, it has not been possible to reach a single definition. However, democracy, which is accepted by everyone even though a common definition cannot be reached, is not authoritarianism, absolutism or dictatorship. If we take the various definitions of democracy in general, we can say that there are three different approaches. These are categorized as: definitions that emphasize the form of democratic governance, definitions that emphasize the human rights context of democracy, and definitions that emphasize the vital aspect of democracy. One of the internal concepts of democracy is undoubtedly leadership. The concept of leadership, which even famous thinkers such as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, Tao, Buddha in ancient Greece have made the subject of discussion, is a universal phenomenon that remains up-to-date and continues to be defined by different unique statements of many researchers. If it is in the excess of the definitions made until today, it will be seen that the definition of leadership is the same as the number of people who undertake the task of defining leadership. When looking at the definitions of leadership, it is understood that leadership has the power to influence the group or organization of which it is a member by using its personal potential and mobilizing it in accordance with the determined goals. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance evaluation process of educational managers. Performance is defined as the fulfillment of a work according to the determined conditions and the way of behavior of employees. The concept of performance, which comes across as the efforts of employees to achieve the organization's goals, is an issue that requires systemic integrity within the organization. It is a very important situation that the operations and activities in the systems to be carried out in organizations in order to increase performance have positive consequences. The concept of performance evaluation is the indication of the importance of personnel for the organization in certain periods of time with quantitative and qualitative aspects. Valuations are the process of making a judgment about people's performance, achievements or failures during the study. Valuations are an active system that provides an opportunity for real joint work, information exchange, sharing of tasks, authority and responsibility in terms of mistakes and achievements, and educational development. Performance evaluation, also called as success evaluation; it can be defined as a vetire that provides information about the effectiveness and competence of an employer in the task he is obliged to perform, and provides the opportunity to measure and benchmark the performances he shows in this regard. Performance evaluation is to systematically analyze the strengths and weaknesses of individuals or groups related to business and direct them in the direction of the goals determined by the organization. Performance evaluation is the ability of managers to evaluate the business success of employees by making comparisons and measurements with the standards they have set before. Background:COVID-19 has spread across the globe, resulting in significant changes in virtually every aspect of life. Mitigation efforts, like shelter-in-place orders, have taken a particular toll on parents who have had to navigate disruptions in work and/or school schedules. Research from high-income countries demonstrates increased parental anxiety, stress, depression, and burnout resulting from the pandemic. It is unclear if these outcomes are the same for parents in high-risk communities in low-income countries where pre-pandemic conditions were deleterious. This study addresses this gap and examines the mental health impact of the pandemic on parents in high-risk communities in Guatemala.Methods:A total of 330 individuals from 11 districts in Guatemala participated in the study and were assessed for sociodemographic characteristics and mental health impairment. Chi-squares were conducted for bivariate analysis. Multivariate analysis was conducted using binary logistic regression.Results:Bivariate analysis revealed differences between groups on burnout, with parents more often reporting feelings of burnout than nonparents ( p < .001). Binary regression demonstrated that non-parents were 70% less likely to endorse feelings of stress as compared to parents (OR = .285; p = .014).Conclusion:Our findings underscore the importance of identifying the unique mental health impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on parents in high-risk communities. In high-risk communities, parental stress is a pressing problem that, if unaddressed, has the potential to result in even greater psychological distress and child maltreatment. Training community healthcare providers to assess and address parental stress can lead to increased community capacity and the development of a community-based network to serve as a first line of support for parents and their children.

Objective: There is considerable interest in the concept of recovery from psychosis. Consumers describe recovery as a process as opposed to a clinical outcome. However, measures of recovery have an important role in the development of recovery-based mental health services. This study sought to investigate the validity and reliability of the Stages of Recovery Instrument (STORI) (Andresen et al., 2006). This is an Australian instrument chosen as a promising measure of recovery developed from the perspectives of consumer accounts. Method: A questionnaire design was used to investigate the following aspects of validity: face validity and feasibility; concurrent validity; construct validity; and test-retest reliability. Fifty (50) people from the caseloads of three specialist mental health teams in a London borough completed the STORI, the Recovery Assessment Scale (RAS) (Corrigan et al., 1999) and a feedback questionnaire. Twenty two (22) people completed the STORI a second time for the purposes of test-retest reliability exploration. Results: Participants' responses to the feedback questionnaire were mainly positive. This was seen as evidence of face validity and feasibility. Correlations between the STORI and the RAS provided evidence of concurrent validity. Cluster analysis revealed that the STORI items formed three clusters rather than five. Strong correlations between the first and second STORI administrations provided initial evidence for the test-retest reliability. Conclusions: The STORI can be used to measure recovery concepts in the UK. However, it does not measure the five-stage model on which it was based. A three-stage model of recovery might best form the basis of future recovery research.

Recent developments in the study of language in society have moved the field increasingly away from linear models toward complex models. The complexity of timespace as an aspect of what is called context is of key importance in this development, and this article engages with two possibly useful concepts in view of this: chronotope and scale. Chronotope can be seen as invokable chunks of history that organize the indexical order of discourse; scale, in turn, can be seen as the scope of communicability of such invocations. Thus, whenever we see chronotopes, we see them mediated by scales. The cultural stuff of chronotopes is conditioned by the sociolinguistic conditions of scale. This nuanced approach to timescale contextualization offers new directions for complexity-oriented research in our fields.
