Reviews the 5,775 listings between 1983 and 1995 to identify specific ways in which freedom of association violations occur and suggests regional patterns to violations. Freedom of association rights, importance of advocacy strategies for workers' rights, labor rights, and trade union rights, regional and national practices which interfere, and three major categories of violations, including violent interference, legislative interference, and infringement.
