The 2000 presidential election will go down as being one of the most extraordinary in US history. This article offers preelection background information & then examines several political trends that have emerged from the presidential campaign, the election itself, & the ensuing media coverage. The legal challenges, partisan viewpoints, the FL recount, & many other unique features of this election are discussed.
