As part of a growing body of work focused on the social implications of Pentecostal Christianity, this article explores one of the ways that this religion is shaping relational life on the Zambian Copperbelt. Through a discussion of the changing nature of the prosperity gospel, I show how Pentecostalism embeds believers in social relationships that often extend beyond their religious cohort. In the absence of the lavish wealth promised by prosperity gospel preachers, Pentecostals have had to alter their understanding of divinely authored economic success. Specifically, local definitions of prosperity are characterized not by uniform, individualized wealth, but rather by progress along a gradient of material achievement through relationships that span differences in economic status. This retooled version of the prosperity gospel serves to integrate believers into the wider social world by emphasizing material inequality and promoting displays of wealth. Each of these aspects of Copperbelt Pentecostalism embeds its adherents in networks of exchange that are a central component of urban Zambian sociality. This analysis of Pentecostalism expands on studies of this religion that focus only on formal ritual life, while at the same time challenging interpretations of Pentecostalism that have given its social potential short shrift.RésuméLe présent article s'inscrit dans un corpus de plus en plus important de travaux consacrés aux implications sociales du christianisme pentecôtiste.
The author estimates social consequences of the so called «demographic transition* or the problem of «population ageing* in the modern world: to what extent is contemporary society ready for effective utilization of the emerged economical, consumer, and cultural resources of aged and elderly citizens. The process of ageing in Russia differs considerably from that in the developed countries. It is taking place against the background of high mortality rate and population diminution, as well as significant gap between the sexes in the rate of life expectancy (in favor of women), the weakness of retirement welfare system, poverty in Russia expressed not only in economical or financial terms but in primitivism of notions of employers and the authorities on the whole about individuals, their needs, abilities and possibilities. Such notions correspond to earlier stages of socioeconomic development and do not meet the requirements of the present day that have become a norm in the majority of the industrially developed countries. In a world of political upheaval, rising inequality, catastrophic climate change, and widespread doubt of even the most authoritative sources of information, is there a place for critique? This book calls for a systematic reappraisal of critical thinking-its assumptions, its practices, its genealogy, its predicament-following the principle that critique can only start with self-critique.In A Time for Critique, Didier Fassin, Bernard E. Harcourt, and a group of eminent political theorists, anthropologists, sociologists, philosophers, and literary and legal scholars reflect on the multiplying contexts and forms of critical discourses and on the social actors and social movements engaged in them. How can one maintain sufficient distance from the eventful present without doing it an injustice? How can one address contemporary issues without repudiating the intellectual legacies of the past? How can one avoid the disconnection between theory and action? How can critique be both public and collective? These provocative questions are addressed by revisiting the works of Foucault and Arendt, Said and Césaire, Benjamin and Du Bois, but they are also given substance through on-the-ground case studies that treat subaltern criticism in Palestine, emancipatory mobilizations in Syria, the antitorture campaigns of Sri Lankan activists, and the abolitionism of the African American critical resistance and undercommons movements in the United States. Examining lucidly the present challenges of critique, A Time for Critique shows how its theoretical reassessment and its emerging forms can illuminate the imaginative modalities to rejuvenate critical praxis

Associative islamic movement in Ile-de-France - The growth of religious organisations has become a new issue as far as migrants' groupings are concerned in France. The former defined themselves as the bulk identity makers of the muslim migrant populations, and thus try and set the line, by using various types of policy, either in the cultural field or in the political, say, symbolic ones, when negociating with the authorities at every rung of the ladder. By acting in such a way, are they building barriers between the muslim migrant populations and the native population, or rather, are they are trying to find ways and means in order to make the muslims cope with the guest society ? The paper deals with different aspects of muslim organisations: history and reasons of creation of the organisations; structuring of belongings; ways of communicating culture, language, religion; discourse on islam and its perception: relationships at local and national level.

Analysis-synthesis and historicallogical methods were used to assess the background on the subject, obtaining results that could be developed in the educational institutions, in the future.
AbstractPrevious studies show regulation and corporate governance play an important role in affecting CSR processes and outcomes. The stakeholder engagement (SE) process represents a good practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and, at the same time, an aspect of substance over form, within the CSR policies. In spite of its relevance, SE represents a little explored field of research. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if the improvements in SE processes are actually driven by regulation rather than by some elements of corporate governance. The study examines the effect of the regulation and some board's characteristics on SE. Specifically, in 2017 the introduction of EU non‐financial information Directive (Directive 2014/95/EU) shifts the disclosure of non‐financial information from the voluntary to the mandatory realm: in this mandatory context, the quality of the SE process that is indirectly disclosed in non‐financial information, could improve. By using a content and statistical analysis, through performing 4 two‐way Analysis of Variance, the study reveals that the effects of the introduction of the Directive 2014/95/EU on the stakeholder engagement process have been limited and the improvements in SE before and after the introduction of the Directive link to the Board of Directors characteristics. These findings are interesting for academics, by enriching the academic debate on mandatory versus voluntary disclosure and the relationship between board attributes and sustainability, for policy makers, by providing suggestions to favour organisational change of the firms, and for managers, by identifying the desirable characteristics of the Board of Directors.
According to the words of the researcher María de la Paloma Escalante Gonzalbo, in his review of the book "The Twilight of the Goddess", Stela Florence Rosemberg and Troy, the text is "a truly scholarly exercise, which will drive us the work of social anthropologists on issues of social structure and organization, reviewing what are the aspects of work, age, gender, from every possible perspective, taking the classic ethnographies and many not so classic and so well known, for comminuting find parallels and divergences are showing us how the organization actually builds itself, the place of each one and the myth that legitimates. societies show us male and female dominance and how it is constructed in each gender, speak of established roles for each gender attributes assigned to them and how they symbolize, and the transit of this training to a political system."
