Modern information and communication technologies, together with a cultural upheaval within the research community, have profoundly changed research in nearly every aspect. Ranging from sharing and discussing ideas in social networks for scientists to new collaborative environments and novel publication formats, knowledge creation and dissemination as we know it is experiencing a vigorous shift towards increased transparency, collaboration and accessibility. Many assume that research workflows will change more in the next 20 years than they have in the last 200. This book provides researchers, decision makers, and other scientific stakeholders with a snapshot of the basics, the tools, and the underlying visions that drive the current scientific (r)evolution, often called 'Open Science.'

International audience ; Based on historical data and a seminal text never translated into English, we present an original interpretation of Henri Fayol's (1841-1925) administrative theory. This interpretation, which is consistent with the comments that Fayol later presented about his 'General and industrial administration' treatise, brings out his pioneering contribution to management studies. Fayol made the 'unknown' introduced by science into industry the central tenet of modern administration. He foreshadowed major aspects of today's innovation management. More fundamentally, Fayol laid new foundations for the field of management sciences. He drew from the political and philosophical works of the Enlightenment to develop a series of original concepts (in French: prévoyance, perfectionnement, programme, inconnu, corps social) that were difficult to interpret and to translate. We maintain that Fayol's administrative science is a theory of a 'creative/political' rationality that still, today, offers better theoretical and explanatory support for management science than economic and bureaucratic theory.

Our analysis reveals, for instance, that the online newspaper prefers to allow users to comment on lightweight news such as sports and entertainment. The users, however, prefer to post comments on news covering changes in proximity space, politics, and health care, while also clearly ignoring the most available news pieces (sport and entertainment). In rejecting both arguments of the 'death of class', and the increasingly minimalist positions of class traditionalists, a newer generation of class theorists have transformed the scope and analytical framework of class analysis; inflating 'class' to include social and cultural formations, reconfiguring the causal model that has underpinned class analysis, and abandoning the notion of distinct class identities or groups, focusing instead on individualized hierarchical differentiation. There are problems with transforming 'class' in this fashion, although the difficulty lies not in the departures from traditional class theory, but rather in what is retained. The uneasy relationship between older and newer aspects of 'class' within renewed class theory means the wider implications of inequality considered as individualized hierarchy (rather than as 'class') have not been fully explored. The debate on class identities (an important example of this new form of class analysis) illustrates these difficulties, and shows that issues of hierarchy extend well beyond issues of 'class'.

Este artículo ofrece un análisis de las consecuencias en el orden de género que tuvo el Plan de Inclusión Previsional, llevado adelante en Argentina durante la primera década y media del siglo XXI. Para ello se realizará una descripción de las características principales del plan, historizando de manera sucinta la política jubilatoria de nuestro país, recuperando los aspectos específicos de la moratoria previsional y su impacto en la población adulta mayor. A partir de ello, se abordará el impacto de esta política en el orden de género que estructura las relaciones sociales en general y laborales en particular, poniendo especial atención en las disputas de sentido que subyacen en relación al orden de género y de la división sexual del trabajo: las dicotomías público/privado y trabajo productivo/trabajo reproductivo. ; This article offers an analysis of the consequences in the gender order that the Plan of Pension Inclusion had, carried out in Argentina during the first decade and a half of the 21st century. To this end, a description of the main features of the plan will be made, succinctly historicalizing the retirement policy of our country, recovering the specific aspects of the pension moratorium and its impact on the elderly population. This chapter sketches some key developments in the framing of youth and early adulthood as life course stages, and situates the influence of the recent economic recession with reference to longer-term trends including increased social inequality. The authors explore different aspects of youth and early adulthood as these relate to labour market and family transitions and inter-generational relationships. These are illustrated by developments across the European nations represented in the book, specifically Norway, the UK, Germany, Greece, Portugal and Italy. The authors discuss the theoretical foundations of youth studies and life course research and set the context for the collection as well as framing the chapters in the book.

Nongovernmental organizations are frequently represented as the agents of international organizations, slaves to a singular neoliberal development paradigm imposed from above. In this article, the author describes a locally based nongovernmental organization in Mexico City that eludes such critiques by innovatively combining aspects of neoliberalism with elements of state corporatism. In its effort to improve the lives of street children & impoverished families, the organization borrows from neoliberalism its distrust of government & other potentially paternalistic institutions. Meanwhile, it rejects neoliberalism's reliance on the market & attempts to empower families & communities to act as intermediaries between individuals & the ravages of global capitalism. 16 References. A major aspect of the Third World's higher education scene in the post-1945 period has been the expansion of the number & size of Us. Often approaching a tenfold growth, this development has been marked by a remarkable worldwide similarity of curriculum & structures of governance. A factor in the growth & character of these institutions has been the Fulbright program -- an international educational exchange program -- in concert with the role of the US as the educator of choice for Third World academic personnel. Aspects of investment attractiveness of subjects of Russian Federation, where the mode of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) is applied, are reviewed in this article. Emphasizing the importance of foreign direct investment for overcoming the technological gap from the leading world economies, the authors discuss several SEZs selected for reasons of uniformity of their socio-economic status and purpose of creating SEZ mode in them. One of the main purposes for establishing the SEZ mode is the creation of investment attractiveness for projects, being implemented in these regions. Special Economic Zones of Technical Innovation Type (Tomsk), industrial type (Samara, Ulyanovsk, Elabuga) are analyzed in this article because these are the types of SEZ modes where borrowing is supposed, as well as introduction and development of modern technologies. In large-scale projects planned by the Government in these areas, participation of small businesses is almost ignored, which, from the point of view of the authors, harms the investment attractiveness of the projects. Identification of regional special characteristics of investment attractiveness of studied objects is carried out in comparison with the state of small business in these areas. Importance of small business development in the creation of a favorable investment climate is shown.
