Abstract Territory is a legal institute central to Modern Law. In modernity it has been reduced to land, a neutral and universal physical unit, a good that can be traded on the market. Human Geography - especially with Milton Santos - has added complexity to space, showing that it is a social production, where life takes place. Territory has acquired a prominent epistemological status not only for Geography, but also for Law, becoming a central legal institute in the defense of different subjects and dignities. The objective of this article is to delve into the complex interdependence between subjects and territories, making an epistemological dive into this relationship, using the Cultural-Historical theory of subjectivity as a framework. Thus, the problem faced is: what epistemic deepening can the Cultural-Historical theory of subjectivity and human geography provide for the understanding of the legal institute of territory? It is hoped that the conclusions of this article might contribute to the effort to analyze territory as a complex legal institute, inseparable from its subjects and the defense of multiple dignities.

This study analyzes the relations between the social conditioning factors and the taste for the cultural practice of chess manifested in the discourses of the grandmasters who compose its elite in the Brazilian contemporary context. The theoretical and methodological framework of Pierre Bourdieu was used. For the research method, retrospective semi-structured interviews were carried out personally with each Brazilian chess grandmaster. Thematic Analysis was assigned for the qualitative treatment of the data. The result originated the axis 'Grandmasters, distinct elite: the naturalness of the cultivation of taste by legitimate heirs', which mainly analyzes the favoured family origin of these agents and how this affected the success of their high-performance trajectories in this sport. It is concluded that the mechanism of the family cultural heritage acted in the production of a dilettantish taste and lifestyle in relation to chess, characterizing a distanced, liberated and detached attitude towards the practice. This condition is disseminated by its elite and does not include all people who, in Brazil, have different family origins and deal with it from an unequal distribution of opportunities in relation to the practice of this sport.

Regarded as the masterpiece of the large poetic production of Yannis Ritsos (1909–90), Tetarti diastasi (Fourth Dimension) (1972) is the result of a long creative process that engaged the poet for almost twenty years. This article draws from unpublished material from the Ritsos archive to retrace the history of the collection. What emerges from this reconstruction is that the development of Fourth Dimension was marked by three specific moments: the radical ideological shifts in 1956, following the death of Stalin and Nikos Zachariadis's expulsion from the leadership of the Communist Party of Greece, the 'mythological turn' in 1963 in correspondence with Ritsos's critical work on C. P. Cavafy and Vladimir Mayakovsky, and his political confinement and exile in 1967 after the military coup. All these moments show how Ritsos's poetic project was in dialogue with the vibrant cultural context of the Greek 'long 1960s', becoming emblematic of a climate that I refer to as 'metamodernist', a moment in which modernism had still considerable influence while the awareness of being at the boundary, in a cultural transitional space, was already deeply felt.

The article looks at thematic exhibitions that explore certain cultural and historical processes and examines the specifics of the exhibition as a collaborative process between three actors: academic researchers, curators and designers. Such exhibitions, grounded in cultural aspects and built on academic research outcomes, differ from classic art displays in the sense that they lack artworks that "speak for themselves". Moreover, the research often is based on the written word and original documents or artefacts that are visually uninteresting/non-appealing or monotonous. On this account, the exhibition's story and visual form is put in the hands of the curator and designer. Does this vital role give designers and curators the authority to rework the research that underlies the narrative? Is the design applied as the exhibit itself ? To answer these questions and to explore artistic research in the context of exhibitions, this article discusses the exhibitions carried out at the National Library of Latvia. The article looks behind the exhibition production process to examine the collaboration methods employed by the creative teams consisting of researchers, curators and designers.

As China further deepens its reform and opening-up, it has seen increasing demand for tour escort interpreting. In order to analyze roles that tour escort interpreters undertake in their interpreting activities, explain the reasons underlying their roles and propose relevant suggestions for interpreters to improve their interpreting performance, this paper uses case study method to study tour escort interpreters' complicated roles based on Goffman's Participation Framework. It finds that tour escort interpreters play the roles of "addressed recipients" and "unaddressed recipients" in the "reception format" and "animators", "authors" and "principals" in the "production format". The paper then explains reasons underlying these roles: speakers' care for interpreters, interpreters' cross-cultural communication ability, differences of sentence structures between Chinese and English, interpreters' preparation for interpreting tasks and speakers' multimodal methods when talking contribute to interpreters' complex roles. Finally, this paper proposes that tour escort interpreters should notice different sentence structures between Chinese and English, be well-prepared for their interpreting tasks, nurture their cross-cultural communication ability and pay attention to speakers' multimodal methods when they are talking so as to improve their interpreting performance.

ABSTRAKT
This paper examines the symbolic designs of expressive creativity on African fabrics in textile art. It highlights the variations on the theme, symbolic design, colour, and techniques used for the production of African fabrics. Data for the study rely on primary and secondary sources. The primary data were obtained from in-depth interview, samples of African fabrics drawn from exhibition catalogues as well as unstructured interview schedules with primary artists producing some of the textiles in Africa and users wearing clothes drawn from the African people in Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Tanzania. The illustration of the variations in symbols found in African textile, derived from exhibition catalogues, were used to express the cultural contextual meaning of design patterns on African fabrics. Cultural nationalism and identity dominate the printed geometric forms of flora and fauna as well as other patterns of symbolic designs found on the fabrics. The symbolic designs and variations in theme, colour and patterns on African textile represent rare artistic creativity and expression in the current development of textile art in Africa.

Through their pages, the intellectual, the knowledge production and political commitment become to play a central role when it's time of political, social and cultural struggles and debates of ideas for the sake of the construction of socialism in Chile between 1970 and 1973. ; El siguiente artículo tiene como objetivo principal analizar la importancia que tuvieron las revistas Chile Hoy, La Quinta Rueda y Punto Final como espacios prominentes de discusión política e intelectual de las izquierdas durante el gobierno de la Unidad Popular. A través de sus páginas, el intelectual, la producción del conocimiento y el compromiso político pasaron a desempeñar un papel central a la hora de las luchas políticas, sociales, culturales y el debate de ideas en aras de la construcción del socialismo en Chile entre los años 1970 y 1973.

Abstract: Through an analysis of the work of the Yi () poets, Aku Wuwu, Jidi Majia, and Jimu Langge, this paper discusses the significance of Yi literature in translation, circulation, and production, with an additional focus on the development of minority literature in the
context of world literature. A variety of factors enable the translation of ethnic minority literature, including the content and characteristics of the literature itself, the cultural ideologies and literary values of societies, and the personal motivations of authors and translators. In
turn, the translation and distribution process introduce the unique experiences of the minority subject into the realm of world literature. Presenting ethnic minority literature in various forms, including recitation performance and multimedia, these Yi poets enhance the range of sensory experiences
for readers while drawing attention to poetic traditions and enriching the ways in which world literature circulates. Moreover, the travels of ethnic minority writers introduce new cross-cultural writing and advances world literature's ideals of prosperity, equality, and freedom. In
sum, Yi literature represents a global development of ethnic minority literature as "anthropological literature" that enriches the content of world literature.

The durability of racism in the United States continues to inspire critical scholarship about the mechanisms that drive persisting inequalities. Drawing on theories of colorblindness and white ignorance, growing work examines how White people actively deny, revise, or mystify white supremacy, illuminating cultural mechanisms that (re)produce racialized structures. Largely absent from this body of work, however, is the potential role of religion—specifically Christianity—as a cultural system that can inform and legitimize ways of knowing (or not knowing) about racism. Here, we draw on 85 interviews with White Christians (Catholic, Mainline Protestant, and Evangelical Protestant) to analyze how they talk about racism and produce racial knowledge. We show how some White Christians draw on colorblind religious frames and religious frames of diversity and inclusion to inform and legitimize overlapping, sometimes contradictory racial logics that can be deployed across social contexts to produce ignorance about systemic racism. Findings reveal the production of colorblindness as a dynamic process that, under certain conditions, White Christians actively negotiate by using religious frames, producing what we describe as divinized colorblindness.

The present research is devoted to studying the specifics of sports fashion from the 19th century to the 20th century. Also, it considers the influences on the cultural image for everyday shoes. This paper considers how shoes are designed for sports, but they have been included in daily wear. The evidence is provided that sport's activity has generated insufficient demand, answering to the growing motivations. Reciprocally, manufacturers have promoted sports fashion and casual clothing to create new consumers for an increased production stream. The approaches employed for the basis of the research methodology are included as: theoretical, multifactorial, and systematic-historical. Also, there are used chronological and comparative approaches for analyzing the problems. Thus, the authors suggest that the producers used new stimulation methods, and they attracted the rhetoric of technological novelty as a means of applying the general interest of innovation by advertising. In this regard, further confirmation is that the cultural acceptability parameters for clothing were redefined at the beginning of the twentieth century so that they started to introduce a practical and liberated sporty look in everyday footwear.

Situating Sustainability reframes our understanding of sustainability through an emerging international terrain of concepts and case studies. These approaches include material practices, such as extraction and disaster recovery, and extend into the domains of human rights and education. This volume addresses the need in sustainability science to recognize the deep and diverse cultural histories that define environmental politics. It brings together scholars from cultural studies, anthropology, literature, law, behavioral science, urban studies, design, and development to argue that it is no longer possible to talk about sustainability in general without thinking through the contexts of research and action. These contributors are joined by artists whose public-facing work provides a mobile platform to conduct research at the edges of performance, knowledge production, and socio-ecological infrastructures. Situating Sustainability calls for a truly transdisciplinary research that is guided by the humanities and social sciences in collaboration with local stakeholders informed by histories of place. Designed for students, scholars, and interested readers, the volume introduces the conceptual practices that inform the leading edge of engaged research in sustainability.

Abstract. In today's digital era, the internet is present in new media and has eliminated the boundaries between production and consumption space. Audiences are no longer just consumers but also actively participate in producing digital content that is uploaded and shared with other audiences. YouTube as one of the most consumed platforms by the audience has driven cultural change in the digital society. YouTube audiences are no longer simply enjoying content produced by the media as in the era of Television but they are watching content produced by other YouTube audiences. The YouTube audience is no longer the role of consumers but also as digital labours who are exploited above economic interests. This study aims to determine the role of the audience as digital labours in the YouTube industry in Indonesia. The research method used is digital discourse which will help researchers to uncover the motivations behind a text. The research results show that the YouTube audience is exploited in the accumulation of capital owners because their activities in producing culture and their attention to cultural content that generates data to attract advertisers' attention have resulted in profits for capital.
