This paper examines a specific, generally south to north migratory flow—that of economic migrants from poor nations to advanced market economy countries. Most economic analyses agree that economic migration—as distinct from refugee flows—generates economic benefits. However, the level of benefits generated by these flows vary depending upon the types of migrants accepted (McCarthy and Vernez 1997). Moreover, these economic benefits are unevenly distributed among the host population in the short-term (National Research Council 1997). This uneven distribution creates a public backlash and political demands for restricting migration. To maintain openness toward migration, policies should tailor the level of migration to conditions in the local communities where migrants settle and redistribute the short-term costs associated with these migratory flows.

Nowadays, there are many problems with the electricity system, such as increasing consumption, short-time overload during the intra-day, environmental problems caused by fossil fuel, and foreign-source dependency. Therefore, it is necessary to meet these increasing energy needs, minimize environmental impacts, and develop cost optimization solutions. In order to meet these requirements, it is necessary for the network to have a more dynamic structure and to have real-time monitoring and control systems. Furthermore, to develop the aforementioned system, it is necessary to estimate the load of the users in the system. Therefore, the developed artificial neural network-based load estimation algorithm is capable of high accuracy load estimates, and high precision data were obtained for use in the demand side management system

This article presents a study of the extent to which group counseling enhanced the self-concept of congenitally visually impaired adolescents. The researchers developed a training method using group procedures to help visually impaired teenagers cultivate a well-rounded self-concept. Group sessions focused on such topics as self-perception, assertiveness, friendship, familial relationships, and independent living skills. Pretreatment posttreatment evaluations revealed that the experimental group members' self-concept, attitudes toward blindness, and internality improved significantly because of group counseling.
