Ukrainian Economic Academy (Podebrady, Czechoslovakia), its activities, structure and contribution to the development of agricultural science. The research methodology is based on the general scientific principles of historical authenticity, objectivity, systemicity, complexity, and scientific. The author used general scientific, interdisciplinary and special historical methods. The article is based on factual material, archival documents, which reveal the history of creation of the Ukrainian Economic Academy, as the higher school of the polytechnic type, functioning on the traditions of the Ukrainian free science, culture and patriotism. The scientific novelty of the article is that the author first demonstrated a difficult period of formation, reform and development of Academy, which received a good material and technical base, qualified teaching staff, a significant number of students have achieved positive results in the preparation of highly educated professionals. Academy has become an essential element of the spiritual unity of Ukrainians, an indicator of the maturity of the Ukrainian science, education and culture. Conclusions. The representatives of Academy considered knowledge as a factor of socio-economic welfare of the people and confirmed the tendency of increased influence of scientific-educational and cultural potential for the deepening and affirmation of national consciousness, social organization and activities of Ukrainians in the deployment of the struggle for independence of their homeland. The education of future specialists was aimed at rebuilding the national economy and a new Ukrainian state, serving the interests of the nation and society. Democratic methods of the Academy's activities, the use of the latest advances in science and technology contributed to its mutually beneficial cooperation with various scientific organizations in Europe and America. This ensured the effectiveness of the Academy, in particular, the high level of teaching, which, by their knowledge and skills, did not yield to graduates of the universities of the West, successfully worked in various fields of the economy. Achievements of the educational complex increased its authority on the international arena and showed that Ukrainian science abroad occupied an honorable place. ; Summary. Abstract: In this essay, a pedagogical proposal in physical education is presented aimed at promoting meaningful learning transferable to everyday life and greater social awareness, based on the integration of mindfulness as an onto-epistemological basis. For this, in the first part, the concept of mindfulness is analyzed from its essential nature according to the Buddhist perspective, which integrates its moral foundations and its political implications. Likewise, the use of mindfulness in the educational field is criticized as a mere technique, in order to, from there, defend the possibilities of its inclusion as an onto-epistemological essence of pedagogical action. In the second part, the principles of this proposal of physical education focused on the expansion of the unconditional consciousness of the human being are developed: a physical education oriented to personal and moral growth, which stimulates political participation and contributes to social transformation. ; En este ensayo se presenta una propuesta pedagógica en educación física dirigida a favorecer un aprendizaje significativo transferible a la vida cotidiana y una mayor consciencia social, a partir de la integración de mindfulness (consciencia plena) como base onto-epistemológica. Para ello, en la primera parte, se analiza el concepto de mindfulness desde su naturaleza esencial según la perspectiva budista, que integra sus fundamentos morales y sus implicaciones políticas. Asimismo, se critica el uso de mindfulness en el ámbito educativo como una mera técnica, para, a partir de ahí, defender las posibilidades de su inclusión como esencia onto-epistemológica de la acción pedagógica. En la segunda parte, se desarrollan los principios de esta propuesta de educación física enfocada a la expansión de la consciencia no condicionada del ser humano: una educación física orientada al crecimiento personal y moral, que estimule la participación política y contribuya a la transformación social. Para isso, na primeira parte, o conceito de mindfulness é analisado a partir de sua natureza essencial segundo a perspectiva budista, que integra seus fundamentos morais e suas implicações políticas. Da mesma forma, o uso da mindfulness no campo educacional é criticado como mera técnica, para, a partir daí, defender as possibilidades de sua inclusão como essência onto-epistemológica da ação pedagógica. Na segunda parte, são desenvolvidos os princípios dessa proposta de educação física voltada para a expansão da consciência incondicionada do ser humano: uma educação física voltada para o crescimento pessoal e moral, que estimula a participação política e contribui para a transformação social.

The notion of responsibility makes a significant appearance in a range of Westernised education policy documents concerned with student conduct, welfare and values. While policies may differ in the extent to which responsibility is explicitly defined or generally assumed, most seem to emphasise an ideal social subject who is accountable, self-regulating and actively contributing to civic life. Drawing on insights from Michel Foucault, Emmanuel Levinas and Judith Butler, I argue that the emphasis on neoliberal and neoconservative discourses in Australian educational policy can work to undermine more unconditional forms of responsibility grounded in notions of ethics, care and recognition of the other.

Das Bildungssystem wird als zentrales Fundament für die technologische Leistungsfähigkeit eines Landes angesehen. Je besser sich das Bildungssystem in qualitativer und quantitativer Hinsicht entwickelt, desto günstiger sind die Voraussetzungen für die technologische Leistungsfähigkeit und eine gute wirtschaftliche Entwicklung. Insbesondere wird der höheren Bildung ein besonderer Stellenwert zugemessen, da vor dem Hintergrund des technischen Fortschritts Innovationsprozesse wissensintensiver werden und ein höheres Maß an Kompetenzen benötigt wird, die vor allem mit höheren Qualifikationen wie akademischen Abschlüssen und aber auch anderen tertiären Bildungsabschlüssen verbunden sind. Deutschland konnte sich in den letzten Dekaden im internationalen Wettbewerb weitgehend behaupten. Allerdings stellt sich die Frage, ob dies auch noch in den nächsten Jahren der Fall sein wird. Der vorliegende Beitrag befasst sich mit den bildungspolitischen Optionen für das Erreichen einer Höherqualifizierung in Deutschland und untersucht auf der Basis eines internationalen Vergleichs, wie sich die Höherqualifizierung in wichtigen OECD-Staaten darstellt und welche Höher- und Bildungsstrategien sichtbar werden. In Kapitel zwei wird zunächst die Problemlage dargestellt. In einem Vergleich für 20 OECD-Länder wird gezeigt, welche relative Position Deutschland hinsichtlich des Bildungstands und der Bildungsbeteiligung im Sekundar-, Tertiär- und Weiterbildungsbereich einnimmt. Kapitel drei stellt in kurzer Form die theoretischen Grundlagen zusammen. Insbesondere werden die Determinanten der Bildungsentscheidungen von Individuen sowie die Qualifikationsnachfrageentscheidungen der Unternehmen beleuchtet. Beides dient als Grundlage dafür, Ansatzpunkte für Bildungsstrategien im Allgemeinen und Höherqualifizierungsstrategien im Besonderen zu finden. Kapitel vier umfasst den ersten Teil der empirischen Analysen. Auf der Basis von quantitativen Untersuchungen von 20 OECD-Ländern wird ermittelt, wie sich die Strategien anderer Länder hinsichtlich der Erhöhung von Beteiligungsquoten und des Studierendenpotenzials darstellen. Zudem wird untersucht, wie sich die Höher- und Bildungsstrategien in der Bildungsfinanzierung niederschlagen. Kapitel fünf vertieft die Untersuchungen in Form von Fallstudien für die Länder Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Finnland, Großbritannien, USA, Japan und Korea. Nach einigen methodischen Vorbemerkungen werden die Bildungssysteme vor dem Hintergrund der Fragen der Untersuchung analysiert. (ICD2)

Without a thorough understanding of culture and its nuances on part of the mental health service providers, alienation, stigma, and culturally based impediments rule. While concerns for diversity have been raised on numerous occasions, with increasing frequency over the past four decades, little progress has been made in implementing such concerns in clinical practice. Over two-thirds of Americans receive treatment for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and related disorders. Comorbidity is rarely diagnosed. These trends are greatly exacerbated among members of ethnic, cultural, and linguistic minority groups. The authors contributing to this volume share their clinical acumen and experiences, rooted in their evidence-based research. Their purpose is to bring issues attending assessment and treatment of ethnic minority clientele closer to the fore. Some of the leading authors on the topic, in psychology and social work, present their well earned clinical and research experiences in this volume.
