In a knowledge based economy students are expected to acquire a certain set of skills that will enable them to have a positive impact in society. The 21st century skills are considered to be the answer to their social and professional inclusion and education plays a key role in providing students with the opportunity to develop these skills. To address the challenges of the future, educational frameworks need to be redesigned so that they can cultivate this set of skills. The advancement of technologies can contribute to the realization of an educational paradigm shift while the teachers' role in the learning process remains fundamental. The flipped classroom is a new learning model where the learning activities inside and outside the classroom are rearranged. Several studies have indicated that flipping the classroom promotes the cultivation of the 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, metacognition, problem solving, collaboration, motivation, self-efficacy, conscientiousness, grit and perseverance. On the other hand this pedagogical approach could be quite challenging since it presents many barriers that need to be removed so that the method can deliver the desirable learning outcomes.

The regional roles external actors play, such as 'China's role in Africa' or 'the US role in East Asia', have long been popular subjects of analysis in the international relations literature. Yet, the emergence and evolution of these roles remains remarkably under-theorized. While some 'new regionalist' scholars have discussed the dynamics of an external actor's regional involvement by referring to the concepts of 'penetration' and 'socialization', neither concept, this article argues, is sufficiently equipped to capture how external actors come to aspire and realize their regional roles. To address this shortcoming, the article employs an interactionist role theory perspective, which draws on the work of social psychologist George Herbert Mead. In following this perspective, the article argues that external actors develop regional role aspirations as they draw on their creativity and reflexivity to overcome experienced uncertainties. To realize these aspirations, the article suggests, external actors seek to cast significant others into corresponding roles. Alter-casting, the article argues in this context, is critical for understanding the (re)constitution of an external actor's regional role, and thus a region's social structure.

In accounting for the endurance of dysfunctional institutions, scholars often highlight the importance of path dependence or incremental change. Yet this fails to capture the creativity that actors deploy to reproduce order, particularly in times of crisis. We propose the concept of dynamic order, rooted in pragmatist theory, as an alternative way to think about institutional durability. Powerful actors reproduce order through creative adjustments to rules and routines that channel action into predictable and controllable behavior. We illustrate this dynamic with examples from the European Union and the United States. In response to the crisis of the Eurozone, EU and state officials invented new procedures that strengthened European governance at the very moment many questioned whether the euro could survive. Likewise, in the United States, public officials responded to social movements and street protests against racism and police brutality by creatively channeling these grievances into judicial proceedings and procedures controlled by the state. By focusing on how elite actors regenerate order in times of crises, our analysis enhances the conceptual toolkit currently available to the scholars of institutions.

This chapter seeks to advance Ferguson scholarship in two respects. First, it strives to recover and reconstruct ethical motifs which are implicit in Ferguson's discourse on rude nations. Second, it seeks to illustrate the interpretive power of these motifs by showing how they can be correlated with and enhance Ferguson's trenchant critique of despotic empire. In the process, it becomes possible to appreciate how Ferguson's own distinctively modern way of seeing the world incorporated moral understandings of peoples of rude nations. Ferguson integrates particular moral aspects of a diverse range of rude nations into a 'multi-cultural' critique of despotic tendencies in the Essay. This critique can be elucidated by contextualizing Ferguson's discourse on rude nations within his larger dialectical argument about the nature of civil society and moral life in the Essay, including his use of the terms 'empire' and 'despotism'. Then, Ferguson's fears about despotic trends in empires can be illuminated by viewing them in relation to three ethical motifs derived from rude nations: acting from the heart in opposition and concert, playing one's part in the stations of life, and fashioning freedom with creativity and ingenuity.

Fast food work is often described as low-skilled, alienating, standardized, and highly routinized. The fast food industry employs a disproportionately large number of youth post-secondary students who work on a temporary basis and do so part-time or during school breaks to earn money toward educational and living expenses. To date, little is known about post-secondary student fast food workers' perceptions of their employment. Data from interviews with 32 post-secondary student fast food workers were analyzed. The student workers viewed their jobs as unimportant and low-skilled; however, as students, they were not seeking work that provided opportunities for creativity and meaning, rather, they emphasized the temporary nature of their work and described the inherent stigma and lack of prestige associated with long-term employment in the fast food industry. The students were critical of longer-term workers and animosity between student and non-student workers was expressed. These findings suggest that identity management theories, such as Ashforth and Kreiner's dirty work, may be better suited to understanding students' participation in fast food work than traditional Marxist frameworks.

The creative and collaborative cultural production is a strategical focus in the European political agenda. Culture is as a pillar for sustainable development, able to generate both economic and social values (CHCfE consortium, 2015). Community, cooperation, creativity are also the keywords of several bottom-up experiences in which cultural and creative productions are the drivers of adaptive reuse, with impacts in terms of socio-cultural empowerment and territorial improvement. In Italy, many cases highlight these relationships among built heritage, cultural production, and social innovation, evidencing the need of a systemic approach to adaptive reuse, able to make together built, cultural, social and economic components in order to trigger new local development. Starting from the analysis of these initiatives, the paper highlights some questions that can also represent the main challenges for success and sustainability. Have been the initiatives able to interpret and to answer to local demands for economic, cultural and social services? Have alliances, partnership and financial support transformed informal initiatives into economically viable activities? How management decisions and activities could find solutions to turn new ideas into successful services?

Innovation is one of the four pillars of the U.S. Defense Department's Trans- formation Plan. Innovation has nudged its way into the mission statements and strategies of most business and govern- ment organizations, because it is essen- tial for competitive positioning and sustained performance. Yet in spite of executive proclamations and substantial investment, a majority of organizations report disappointing innovation results. Making Innovation Work does a thor- ough job of converting the concept of innovation into a practical manage- ment framework. Although the book is research-based and two of its authors are academics, it provides practical tools and techniques for managing the end-to-end innovation process. It also debunks several innovation myths, such as creativity and management discipline being incompatible. Examples and vo- cabulary are clearly geared to a business audience. There are several excellent books on military innovation, but most are analytical and retrospective. This is a "hands on" book about the manage- ment of innovation, and leaders of na- tional security organizations will appreciate the relevance of the book's framework.

Limited research exists around the interrelationships between protest camps and marketing practices. In this paper, we focus on the 2014 Hong Kong protest camps as a context where artistic work was innovatively developed and imaginatively promoted to draw global attention. Collecting and analyzing empirical data from the Umbrella Movement, our findings explore the interrelationships between arts marketing technologies and the creativity and artistic expression of the protest camps so as to inform, update and rethink arts marketing theory itself. We discuss how protesters used public space to employ inventive methods of audience engagement, participation and co-creation of artwork, together with media art projects which aimed not only to promote their collective aims but also to educate and inform citizens. While some studies have already examined the function of arts marketing beyond traditional and established artistic institutions, our findings offer novel insights into the promotional techniques of protest art within the occupied space of a social movement. Finally, we suggest avenues for future research around the artwork of social movements that could highlight creative and political aspects of (arts) marketing theory.

Single authored book about the political imaginary of sound: These seven essays on The Political Possibility of Sound present a perfectly incomplete form for a discussion on the possibility of the political that includes creativity and invention, and articulates a politics that imagines transformation and the desire to embrace a connected and collaborative world. The themes of these essays emerge from and deepen discussions started in Voegelin's previous books, Listening to Noise and Silence and Sonic Possible Worlds. Continuing the methodological juxtaposition of phenomenology and logic and writing from close sonic encounters each represents a fragment of listening to a variety of sound works, to music, the acoustic environment and to poetry, to hear their possibilities and develop words for what appears impossible. As fragments of writing they respond to ideas on geography and migration, bring into play formless subjectivities and trans-objective identities, and practice collectivity and a sonic cosmopolitanism through the hearing of shared volumes. They involve the unheard and the in-between to contribute to current discussions on new materialism, and perform vertical readings to reach the depth of sound.

Due to the rapid changes and societal challenges, such as the need to create qualified employment for young people and to find new ways to develop territories through strategies of smart specialization, the Creative and Cultural Industries have been given great importance as a sector capable of empowering economic development and sustainable society. There are many examples of countries, regions and cities - territories - that have developed on the basis of the creative and cultural industries, and in many cases the role of Public Policies has been decisive. And with more practical evidence of visible and measurable results, it is certain that creative and cultural activity has definitely entered the agenda of governments and politicians; and although public discourse on its importance can often be part of politicians' marketing (because it is also good for the public image and generally investment in creativity and culture is well accepted by society), the truth is that in the last decade it has been produced technical and scientific knowledge that demonstrates a growing economic/commercial and symbolic/aesthetic value of creative and cultural activities.

This paper outlines the theory of the development of Islamic law products that are not free from authority, taklid and ijtihad of each Muslim intellectual across the ages. Wael B. Hallaq is one of the thinkers who concentrates in the field of Islamic law which focuses on power and science. In his book entitled "Authority, Continuity, and Change in Islamic Law" Wael B. Hallaq explicitly stated that Islamic law products are not free from political power and interests; therefore the author uses Michel Foucault's approach to reading Wael B. Hallaq's thoughts in several of his works. The authors' findings in his thinking, variety and types of activities in Islamic law are quite contributive to the study of Islamic law. However, the conclusions about the claim that he is a positive element that serves to build loyalty and commitment to study the school, give rise to a defensive attitude towards other schools of thought is irrelevant when viewed from the modernist point of view. Because taklid, besides building the authority of the school, is also responsible for the integration of creativity and progressiveness in Islamic law.

Australia's historical and political records regularly omit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives on the ongoing struggle for Indigenous rights. Their experiences are often framed solely from the viewpoint of relations between Indigenous Australians and Europeans, or as a modern phenomenon that came into being as a result of the Civil Rights movements of the mid-twentieth century. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a long history of resisting colonialism, fighting for their rights, and protesting injustice. Stories of these struggles for rights are well known within communities, having been passed on through oral traditions since 1788. They are recorded in Indigenous journalism, art, literature, academia, and now in the online landscape. These voices of protest have always been imaginative and resourceful, combining Federal advocacy with regional leadership, and engaging in direct action, community programs, consultation, and promoting cultural diversity. Creative economy is a broad concept which became popular among scholars and policy makers around the world since the 1990s as a response to contemporary economic and social trajectories. Post-industrial circumstances which have befallen traditional industrial urban regions supported the rise of the creative economy. This dissertation pays attention to the spatial configuration and distribution of creative economy, its socio-economic significance and urban manifestations, as well as the interrelation between creative economy and urban environment. Historical and socio-economic changes in former Yugoslavia in the last decades imply that the development path of creative activities in the Serbian urban environment differs from the rest of Europe. This research should contribute to the discussion about the influence of creativity, of cultural and creative industries, as well as creative economy on urban developments and urban geographies. The research focuses on the development of creative economy in Belgrade because of its socio-geographic and cultural centrality within the region of South-Eastern Europe. In addition, a delayed post-socialist transition with social, political, and economic manifestations has led to a unique urban development in Belgrade.

Achieving a place in the authorship of published scientific research is a matter of pride and fame associated with creativity, recognition, better evaluation, and financial gains. This had made assigning of authorship in a scientific publication, a complex and challenging issue. Gaining a position in authorship in scientific publications not only prompts or encourages authors to carry out more research but also recourse many of them to the unethical practice of different kinds of authorship abuses. These authorship abuses are done so cleverly and skillfully that neither the journal editors nor the readers of the journals realize that bias had crept in authorship of the publication. This nonstandard act of biased authorship has a tremendous potential to compromise the credibility of scientific research and scientific publications. The present review aims in focusing on issues pertaining to authorship and its misuse in biomedical research. Thus, it can be concluded from this review that new policies, guidelines, and laws should be made by the government agencies in association with journal editors, institution, and government agencies to curb this malpractice by protecting whistleblowers and providing adequate punishment for those who are involved.
