The purpose of this study was to find out the suitability of fictional character values in Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 with 18 character values curriculum 2013. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis approach. The data and data sources in this study are fictions contained in the Grade IV Theme 8 Student Book. Data collection in this study uses observation techniques and document studies that are reduced to be then presented in instruments and verified. Based on the results of the research obtained that the value of characters that appear in fiction in the Book of Students Grade IV Theme 8 amounted to 14, namely: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, respect for achievement, communicative pleasure friendly / proactive, care for the environment, social care, and responsibility. From the 14 character values, it can be known that the percentage of character appearance in fiction in The Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 is 77.78%. Based on the percentage obtained, it can be stated that the value of the characters in the fiction story in the Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 is appropriate.Keywords character values, fictional stories, Curriculum 2013, student book

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of tocopherols in the susceptibility of Star Ruby grapefruit to postharvest chilling injury (CI). Fruit exposed to normal sunlight (NC, non-covered) and deprived of light (C, covered) in the last stages of development were used. Tocopherol contents increased in the flavedo of both NC and C fruit during development, concomitantly with the up-regulation of TAT1 and most genes of the tocopherol-core pathway. Fruit shading reduced total contents by repressing γ-tocopherol accumulation, associated to a down-regulation of GGDR and VTE1 and, to a lesser extent, of VTE2, VTE3a and VTE4. During cold storage, total and α-tocopherol contents increased in NC and C fruit, and no direct relationship between tocopherol accumulation and CI tolerance was found. Cold stress up-regulated most genes involved in the synthesis of tocopherol precursors and down-regulated those of the tocopherol-core pathway, but changes seemed to be cold-mediated and not related to CI development. ; This work was supported by research grants RTI2018-095131-B-I00 of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Spanish Government). China's e-commerce boom has attracted global attention. Existing literature has attributed this development to state initiatives. By examining the interactions between the rising grassroots e-commerce sector and the Chinese state apparatus from the perspective of e-traders in the city of Yiwu, Zhejiang province, this study finds that the Chinese state at different levels has indeed made tremendous efforts to foster the e-commerce industry as a new economic growth engine. However, due to their high ambitions for and anticipation of quick success, coupled with local officials' bureaucratic management of development projects, their endeavours have largely failed to satisfy the needs of grassroots e-traders. Left to fend for themselves, the e-traders regard themselves as self-reliant entrepreneurs who had laid the cornerstone of Yiwu's local e-commerce economy. By taking advantage of the less-regulated business environment given the central state's tolerance and the local state's ignorance, e-traders venture into the uncertain yet profitable e-commerce market. Their entrepreneurial experiences not only lead to their full embrace of the market, but also shape their indifference or resistant attitude towards state intervention in the economy. (China/GIGA)

This study explains the concept of Islamic Moderation in Morocco. It's an interesting theme for us to observe and study together. Considering that the Moroccan government is one of the successful countries in protecting its territory from the threat of Islamic radicalism groups. Furthermore, the jihadist group launched its attack in Casablanca in 2003. Based on this background, the government, in this matter is King Muhammad VI, considers there is an urgent need to reconstruct Moroccan Islamic moderation. With a view to ensuring the stability of religious, social, cultural and political security in the domestic and regional areas of West Africa. The data was collected through a combination of qualitative studies and field observations of moderation that has been carried out over the past twenty years. The data explains that diversity tolerance has been going on for a long time. Studying King Muhammad VI's decision at His Dhahir al-sharief, the moderation developed by Morocco encompasses several lines. First, by normalizing minority relations represented with the original Moroccan Jews. Second, by building the Institute of Takwin Al-Aimmah in order to bring about the priests of the mosque to have moderate Islamic visions and loving deeply their own homeland.

Hydrophobins are a family of small proteins exclusively secreted by fungi, and play a variety of roles in the life cycle. Cmhyd1, one of the hydrophobin class II members in Cordyceps militaris, has been shown to have a high transcript level during fruiting body development. Here, deletion of Cmhyd1 results in reduction in aerial mycelia, conidiation, hydrophobicity and infection ability, and complete inhibition of pigmentation and primordium differentiation. Cmhyd1 plays roles in conidiation and cuticle-bypassing infection by regulating the transcripts of frequency clock protein, Cmfrq, and velvet protein, Cmvosa, as well as primordium formation via the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway. Cmhyd1 also participates in stress response, including tolerance of mycelia to osmotic and oxidative stresses, and conidia to high or low temperatures. CmAreA, a transcription factor of nitrogen regulatory, is recruited to the promoter of Cmhyd1 and activates the transcription of Cmhyd1 with coactivator CmOTam using electrophoretic mobility shift assays and transient luciferase expression in tobacco. Furthermore, CmHYD1 is proved to regulate the transcription of Cmarea at different developmental stages via a positive feedback loop. These results reveal the diverse roles and regulation of Cmhyd1 in C. militaris, and provide insights into the developmental regulatory mechanism of mushrooms.

UIDB/00183/2020 UIDP/00183/2020 770045 ; Cultural literacy, as a set of values and dispositions developed through dialogue and constructive argumentation with people representing different cultural identities, is an essential skillset of a twenty-first-century citizen in any part of today's world. Especially within the current European landscape of continuous immigration and change, the fluidity and rhetoricity of identity construction require a notion of citizenship education that can adapt to this dynamic process. Moreover, the practical aspects of being a citizen in its authentic, global, democratic sense are not sufficiently emphasized within current curricula. In this paper, we present an innovative citizenship education curriculum based on dialogic, argumentative and cultural literacy skills, which addresses this gap through proposing discursive practices of cultural identity construction at a collaborative level (small group or whole class) inspired by wordless texts (picture books and animated films) on core civic cultural values such as tolerance, empathy and inclusion. Through applying a design-based research methodology with teachers from three education levels and four European countries, we conclude that dialogic lesson plans aiming at the development of cultural literacy dispositions can act as an innovative and adaptive citizenship education curriculum in diverse contexts. ; publishersversion ; published

In this article, I investigate the literary representation of the religious convictions and political strategy of neo-Nazi ideologues who are influential in rightwing authoritarian movements in the USA today. The reason that I do this is because in contemporary fascism, the novel has replaced the political manifesto, the military manual and proselytizing testimony, since fiction can evade censorship and avoid prosecution. I read William Luther Pierce's Turner Diaries and Hunter together with his text on speculative metaphysics and religious belief, Cosmotheism. Then, I turn to Harold Covington's Northwestern Quintet with The Brigade, reading this with Christian Identity and his own conception of Nazi religious tolerance. Finally, I look at OT Gunnarsson's Hear the Cradle Song, reading this together with discussions of racism in Californian Odinism. I propose that what this literature shows is that the doctrinal differences between the three main strands of neo-Nazi religion—Cosmotheism, Christian Identity and Odinism—are less significant than their common ideological functions. These are twofold: (1) the sacralization of violence and (2) the sanctification of elites. The dystopian fictions of fascist literature present civil war scenarios whose white nationalist and genocidal outcome is the result of what are, strictly speaking, supremacist death cults.

Nowadays, probiotics have been proposed for substituting antibiotics in animal feed since the European Union banned the latter compounds in 2006 to avoid serious side effects on human health. Therefore, this work aimed to produce a probiotic product for use in animal feed by fed-batch fermentation of whey with a combination of kefir grains, AGK1, and the fermented whole milk used to activate these kefir grains. The probiotic culture obtained was characterized by high levels of biomass (8.03 g/L), total viability (3.6 × 10(8) CFU/mL) and antibacterial activity (28.26 Activity Units/mL). Some probiotic properties of the probiotic culture were investigated in vitro, including its survival at low pH values, under simulated gastrointestinal conditions, after freezing in skim milk at −20 °C, and in the commercial feed during storage at room temperature. The viable cells of lactic and acetic acid bacteria and yeasts exhibited higher tolerance to acidic pH and simulated gastrointestinal conditions when the cells were protected with skim milk and piglet feed, compared with washed cells. The results indicated the feasibility of producing a probiotic product at a low cost with a potential application in animal feed.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to assess the commonly accepted potential effects of Artemisinin-based combinaison therapy (ACT) on repolarization and QT. METHOD: We realized a retrospective study, evaluating epidemiologic, clinical, biological and electrocardiographic data for patients treated for falciparum malaria, between August 31(st) and November 3(rd), 2017 in the Pôle de santé unique on the Camp Kosseï of N'Djamena. RESULTS: One hundred and four patients were included (28,6 years old [0 - 75 years], 72% male). All had fever (38,4 °C [36,6 - 41,5 °C]), asthenia, and main symptoms were headache and arthromyalgia (58%). No significant difference was noted after treatment concerning biological data (especially kaliemia: 3.81 versus 3.91 mmol/l, p = 0.154). There was no significant increase of QTc (415.8 versus 421.4 ms, p = 0.89) with the two ACT treatment used and no adverse events. DISCUSSION: Population is essentially composed of Chadian men, often partly immunized, that can modify clinical presentation. French soldiers' medical follow up in military operations decreases contra-indications of ACT. CONCLUSIONS: These results are in favor of a good cardiac tolerance of ACT with piperaquine and it should be proposed not to realize systematic ECG for the French soldiers in external operation when treated with ACT.

Thus, to defeat the political crisis by political institutionalization among responsibility and tolerance is vital for the country to exercise democracy. This article investigates the hybrid portraits of identity among young Muslims who are members of the Young Interfaith Peacemaker Community (YIPC) in Yogyakarta. Several inquiries have articulated that Indonesian youth tend to be dragged into 'conservative turn' and extremism ideology. However, in this qualitative research we have found the different faces of young Muslims and, in fact, the behavior and religious expression of nowadays youth are not singular and that simple. By using an interpretive phenomenological approach—and through observation, interviews, and documentation particularly from informants—we formulate an argument that young Muslims in the Yogyakarta interfaith community represent a form of multi-identity amalgamation (hybrid). As part of a globally networked society in a local area, they choose to take a dissimilar path from conservative currents and extremist tendencies and then decide to narrate inclusive values, tolerance, and peace education. These snapshots depict a fusion of their thought or horizon (micro-individual) with the community atmosphere (meso-community) and the reality (macro-social politics) around them—which be called Horizontverschmelzung in Hans-Georg Gadamer's concept. This could be discovered from a sequence of socio-religious behaviour and expressions among youth who are active in the interfaith community in Yogyakarta.

This paper assesses risk management practices at South African universities by analyzing the extent of risk management disclosure recommended by King IV and the level of risk governance maturity. This study was motivated by #Feesmustfall disruptions, which pointed to the lack of effective risk management, preparedness for volatility and increased scrutiny by stakeholders. A qualitative content analysis using a risk disclosure checklist was conducted on 18 annual reports and analyzed using an exploratory research design. The results revealed that over 80% of the sampled South African universities have disclosed most of their risk management practices, showing an improved disclosure due to King IV's "apply and explain" philosophy as introduced in 2016. However, there were areas of improvement identified, such as: defining and approval of risk appetites and tolerance; development and implementation of business continuity plans; confirming the unpreparedness for volatility; annual revision of policies; and integration of risk management into the culture and daily activities of the university. This paper builds upon previous studies that highlighted a lack of detailed disclosures in South African organizations' annual reports. This study also provides interesting insights into the impact of social events on organizational practices and supports the notion that legislative accounting practices should echo stakeholders and societal expectations.

Political violence does not end with the last death. A common feature of mass murder has been the attempt to destroy any memory of victims, with the aim of erasing them from history. Perpetrators seek not only to eliminate a perceived threat but also to eradicate any possibility of alternate, competing social and national histories. In this timely and important book, Ernesto Verdeja develops a critical justification for political reconciliation. He asks the questions "What is the balance between punishment and forgiveness?" and "What are the stakes in reconciling?" Developing a normative theory of reconciliation that differs from prevailing approaches, Verdeja outlines a concept that emphasizes the importance of shared notions of moral respect and tolerance among adversaries in transitional societies. Drawing from reconciliation efforts around the world—and interviews with people involved in such endeavors—Verdeja debates how best to envision reconciliation while taking into account the very significant practical obstacles that confront such efforts. Unchopping a Tree addresses the core concept of respect at four different social levels—political, institutional, civil society, and interpersonal—to explain the promise and challenges of securing reconciliation and broader social regeneration.

Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing has the potential to become an appropriate technique to produce large complex-shaped metallic parts. However, a post-processing machining operation is necessary to reach the final geometry. In this work, Inconel 718 walls were manufactured in a monitored environment and their microstructure and mechanical properties were characterised. Then, slot milling operations were performed to investigate the influence of cutting speed and machining direction. The conclusions drawn from this article can be used as a guide for a correct definition of strategies and milling parameters. It was observed that at higher cutting speeds a better surface quality and lower torques are obtained. Moreover, the main novelty of this work is that is shows the influence of the anisotropy of WAAM-Inconel 718 on its machinability.
