From the Epic Poet to the Master of Prudence: Juan Rufo or the Fabric of Fame in Life and Death ; Del poeta épico al maestro del arte de prudencia: Juan Rufo o la fábrica de una fama en vida y muerte
The literary and social ambitions of Juan Rufo, a gifted and restless scion of a wealthy, plebeian Cordovan family of Jewish descent, were encouraged by his encounter, because of political hazards, with Don Juan de Austria, who took him into his service. Hence came the impulse of a vast and laborious poem, La Austríada (1584): we claim that the choice of the epic genre and the aesthetic solutions adopted by Rufo, as well as his strategy of legitimation as an epic poet, were constrained by his social profile in a specific political, ideological and literary conjuncture. To support this thesis, we rely on his second work, Las Seisceintas Apotegmas (1596), which contains personal confidences and statements extremely revealing of the author's world view. This second work did not compensate the frustration and desengaño motivated by the mediocre success of the first; and yet, it was oriented towards the future. We demonstrate it through an investigation, still partial, of his fame in the second half of the seventeenth century, moment in which arises, thanks to anthologists and commentators, a Rufo according to the taste, typical of these decades, for a moral literature based on wit, brevity and singularity.

"To look darkness. To subside": From Micropoetics to Micropolitics and Back Again (On Method) ; "Patrzeć ciemności. Ubyć": od mikropoetyki do mikropolityki i z powrotem (o metodzie)
This essay undertakes an attempt to complete the "micrological" perspective of the Silesian school led by Aleksander Nawarecki with political impulses absent from its sources, guided by the intellectual constellations of two thinkers hitherto neglected as micrologists: Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze. Voicing opposition to the discipline and scientism of the close reading method, the essay proposes to consider the scholar in the categories of the micronaut, and the process of reading as immersion in the text, following minor tensions and flows of meanings. It simultaneously attempts a philosophical reading of the long poem Nie by Konrad Góra as a study in the methodology of seeing, (un)committed blindness and political multiplicity. ; Szkic podejmuje próbę uzupełnienia "mikrologicznej" perspektywy śląskiej szkoły Aleksandra Nawareckiego o nieobecne w niej źródłowo impulsy polityczne i patronat dwóch pominiętych dotąd "mikrologów": Michela Foucaulta i Gilles'a Deleuze'a.

Ben far AND SAlVATION. A FEW THOUGHTS ; Ben far
The article presents a linguistic analysis of the phrase "ben far" in the context of Dante's "The Divine Comedy". The author argues that Dante's benefaction lies in political and civic activities. The role of social benefaction is shown to be the way to salvation. Brunetto's idea about the deficiency of verbal benefaction compared to civil blessings is refuted. The author instead suggests the concept of poetic benefaction that functions in "The Divine Comedy" as a Christian instruction.

Place of Enunciation and Poetic Procedures in "España, aparta de mí este caliz" ["Spain, take this cup away from me"] by César Vallejo ; Lugar de enunciación y procedimientos poéticos de "España, aparta de mí este cáliz" de César Vallejo
This article aims at examining the context or place of enunciation of the poem "España, aparta de mí este caliz"["Spain, take this cup away from me"](1939) by the Peruvian poet César Vallejo, as well as analyzing someof his poetic procedures, particularly the appropriation made by the author of the rhetoric of Christianity. The studyexplores this poet ́s identification with Spain, specifically with the Republican faction, during the Spanish CivilWar (1936-1939); an experience from which the writing of this poem emerged. We also analyze the universality ofthis poem, whose meaning transcends the geographical frontiers of Spain, and the historical context of the conflictduring which it was written, taking root in the will to harmonize Christianity and Marxism –movement to whichthe author was politically committed, both in Spain, and in his native Peru– through the ideal of redemption ofthe dispossessed. With this purpose, the present study describes the creative, subversive use made by Vallejo ofexpressions of biblical origin throughout this poem, such as the use of Catholic prayers that were and continue tobe part of the cultural background of many of his readers ; Este artículo pretende señalar el contexto o lugar de enunciación delpoema España, aparta de mí este cáliz (1939) del poeta peruano César Vallejo,así como describir algunos de sus procedimientos poéticos, particularmentela apropiación hecha por el autor de la retórica del cristianismo.

; In this piece of work, an analisis of Antonio Méndez Rubio's poetics is done, focusing on four of his works: El fin del mundo (1995), Un lugar que no existe (1998), Trasluz (2002) and Por más señas (2005). After a research of the literary and sociopolitical backrounds in which these works are placed, we propose the following things: In the first place, a description of the poetical language that comes from de use of a methodology of pragmatical nature, which allows us to analize the lyrical modalisation, and due to this, the spaces of indeterminacy that it has. Afterwards, we characterize the lyrical subject who is marked by the miss, starting with the link between this subject and the world, and ending with the implementation of Jean Baudrillard's theories about hiperreality and simulacra.

Writing Tamil Catholicism: Literature, Persuasion and Devotion in the Eighteenth Century
In Writing Tamil Catholicism: Literature, Persuasion and Devotion in the Eighteenth Century, Margherita Trento explores the process by which the Jesuit missionary Costanzo Giuseppe Beschi (1680-1747), in collaboration with a group of local lay elites identified by their profession as catechists, chose Tamil poetry as the social and political language of Catholicism in eighteenth-century South India. Trento analyzes a corpus of Tamil grammars and poems, chiefly Beschi's Tēmpāvaṇi, alongside archival documents to show how, by presenting themselves as poets and intellectuals, Catholic elites gained a persuasive voice as well as entrance into the learned society of the Tamil country and its networks of patronage. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 840879.
