In a brief survey of the general econ situation in Jordan the author outlines the evolution of its econ system from a sheep & wheat based economy to one increasingly based upon commercial activities. The problems faced by a southern tribe are examined. The daughters of this group faced a change from seminomadic agri'al occup's to a sedentary commercial life. The modifications in family learning, work, leisure, & religion brought about by this change are described. The programs designed to meet this new state of affairs are examined. It is concluded that there should be: further educ for illiterate girls, direct & full preparation for marriage, playing fields, & sessions on soc training in the villages. Such educ measures meet the needs of the young women in the new situation. J. E. Hughes.

Abstract
The aim of the article is to present selected relationships between social trust and the development of a territorial unit. Social trust affects the level of cooperation in society and decides about the competitiveness of a territorial unit [12, p. 7]. The main thesis of the article is the author's conviction that there is a significant correlation between social trust and the activity of citizens, the consequence of which is the development of territorial units. This relationship applies to different categories of units, the article mainly focuses on municipal units. The conclusions presented are a consequence of the analysis of information sources and surveys carried out in three cities: Cracow, Helsinki and Valletta. The socio-economic situation of Poland, Finland and Malta is varied, also due to historical and political conditions. Social trust in these cities depends on different factors. Everywhere, however, significantly affects the direction of urban development, accelerating and stabilising it. Trust is a component of social capital, which translates into the ability to build an innovative and modern economy. In countries where citizens trust each other, a sense of security increases which significantly affects well-being.

There many open questions concerning the concept of primary prevention in FM. Diagnostic or classification criteria are not universally accepted, and this leads to difficulties in establishing the onset and duration of the disease. In the case of FM, primary prevention may consist of the immediate care of acute pain or treatment for affective disturbances as we do not have any specific laboratory or instrumental tests to determine risk factors of the disease. The goal of secondary prevention is early detection of the disease when patients are largely asymptomatic and intervention improves outcome. Screening allows for identification of an unrecognized disease or risk factor, which, for potential FM patients, includes analysis of tender points, Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), pain location and intensity, and fatigue and sleep complaints. Tertiary prevention inhibits further deterioration or reduces complications after the disease has developed. In FM the aim of treatment is to decrease pain and increase function via multimodal therapeutic strategies, which, in most cases, includes pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Patients with FM are high consumers of health care services, and FM is associated with significant productivity-related costs. The degree of disability and the number of comorbidities are strongly associated with costs. An earlier diagnosis of FM can reduce referral costs and investigations, thus, leading to a net savings for the health care sector. However, every social assessment is closely related to the socio-economic level of the general population and to the legislation of the country in which the FM patient resides.

The Media Convergence Handbook sheds new light on the complexity of media convergence and the related business challenges. Approaching the topic from a managerial, technological as well as end-consumer perspective, it acts as a reference book and educational resource in the field. Media convergence at business level may imply transforming business models and using multiplatform content production and distribution tools. However, it is shown that the implementation of convergence strategies can only succeed when expectations and aspirations of every actor involved are taken into account.
