The world is currently experiencing a health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, all aspects of public activities are disrupted, so that all government programs that have been neatly arranged are delayed. All thoughts, energy and funding are focused on handling COVID-19. And the ones most affected by COVID-19 are in the economic sector. Workers in the private sector, in tourism, are often laid off, as well as being laid off, thus adding to the burden on the government both at central and regional levels to overcome this. To implement the handling of COVID-19 in the regions, West Nusa Tenggara Province, issued Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2020 concerning Contagious Disease Control, as a basis for acting for local government officials in West Nusa Tenggara to tackle infectious diseases. Referring to Article 5 paragraph (1) of the Minister of Health Regulation Number 82 of 2014 concerning Contagious Disease Control, the Regional Government and the community are responsible for organizing Contagious Disease Control and its consequences. As a follow-up handling, referring to the letter of the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Number 180/275 / KUM, dated 18 August 2020, regarding; Dissemination of the Raperda, which in essence assigns all officials (IPDN) to disseminate the Health Protocol, to the public, regarding that until now, there are no confirmed signs of sloping in the community. This is due to the lack of discipline in the community regarding the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19, therefore there is a need for socialization to the public.
; Political patrons, brokers and clients make up the basic typology of actors of the clientelism's literature. Brokers's role is to mediate between the other two actors to allow an exchange of political support by individual "favors". The individual nature of these favors has been vastly reported as one of the aspects that defined the clientelism. However, from a ethnographic study, I show the case of a broker known in his neighborhood by providing collective basic services. Is this the case of a black swan? And if not, what are the reasons that promote that type of provision? To answer these questions I add a historical overview on ways that collective basic services has been provided in slums of the Región Metropolitana de Buenos Aires (RMBA), Argentina. ; Fil: Besana, Patricio Bruno. ABSTRACT The phenomenon of the collapse of social capital, such as the tradition of mutual cooperation and self-sufficient or by the villagers in the district called Gemohing Witihama increasingly felt in the social life of the village, amid strong grip of modernization and globalization. Social capital as collective power of rural communities that have long been rooted in people's lives, is actually the ancestral cultural heritage in managing the important pillars of social cohesion and community development should be a castle guard of civilization. Therefore the main issue to be examined is how the tradition of gemohing highlighted from the perspective of social capital in support of rural development. This study is expected to more comprehensively describe the key role assumed by gemohing as social capital in supporting the process of rural development. The study results demonstrate that social capital has been the collective strength of the governance of rural development increasingly shifted due to the presence of new social institutions formed by the State and a number of policies that it has ignored the main role of gemohing. Despite this collective power that can still be presented again given the still dominant cultural traditions and kinship ties are still inherent in social life, especially in the face of socio-cultural events as well as cooperation for the benefit of rural development. Thus concluded that gemohing can still be used as the basis of social energy boosters that are beneficial for development and also an antidote to the negative effects of globalization. Hence a number of important aspects of gemohing as social capital such as trust, social networks and collective action remains a core strength togetherness strengthen and reinforce cooperation in order to garner a solid face various problems and challenges of rural development. That means gemohing must be preserved and treated as an integrating force for the development of society in all its aspects.
WEALTH AND INEQUALITIES Antonio David Cattani In this paper the main characteristics and meanings of a specific segment of the holders of high fortunes coming from extraction of wealth in the globalized economy are analyzed. Millionaires and billionaires are designated by the financial managers as High net worth individuals (HNWIs). They don't constitute a social class presupposing identity, cohesion and collective mobilization from homogeneous and articulate interests. But, as components of the internationalized dominant sectors they possess high economical and political power with significant impacts on social reality. HNWIs are in the center of the process of acutization of the social and economic inequalities in the last 20 years and they are characterized by three aspects: the) desvinculation of physical dimensions of the capital and absence of national roots; b) personification of fortunes; c) ostentatious standard of living contrasting in a marked way to the remaining of the population. The central argument of this paper is that analyzing the social structure, it is necessary to consider it as an whole, integrated and articulate, the extremes wealth and poverty not being self-explanatory and even less autonomous. Considering the importance of the scale in the wealth ownership, it is possible to understand how it her assures impunity, privileges and power for specific minorities, enlarging the inequalities and the production of the poverty. KEYWORDS: wealth, power, social classes, social and economic inequalities. Publicação Online do Caderno CRH: http://www.cadernocrh.ufba.br
All life forms on earth are complementary to each other; the existence and survival of one depend on the existence of another, and vice versa. However, no life forms are more dependent on others than human beings. Humans' very survival is conditioned by the existence of the natural environment and the living things within it. One aspect of this interaction is the central and inescapable role played by human culture in defining the human-nature relationship. This book emphasises that environmental conservation is a matter of moral and cultural ethics. It stresses the fact that existing environm
"For Hannah Arendt, friendship had political relevance and importance. The essence of friendship, she believed, consisted in discourse, and it is only through discourse, she argued, that the world is rendered humane. This book explores some of the key ideas in Hannah Arendt's work through a study of four lifelong friendships -- with Heinrich Blücher, Martin Heidegger, Karl Jaspers and Mary McCarthy. The book draws on correspondence from both sides, illuminating our understanding of the social contexts within which Arendt's thinking developed and was clarified. It offers a cultural history of ideas: shedding light on two core ideas in Arendt -- of 'plurality' and 'promise', and on how those particular ideas emerged through a particular set of relationships, at a significant moment in the history of the West. This book offers an original and accessible 'way in' to Arendt's work for students and scholars of politics, philosophy, intellectual history and literature"--Provided by publisher
Given increasing global migration and the importance of positive cross-cultural relations across national borders, this book offers an interdisciplinary and intercultural exploration of identity formation. It uniquely draws from theology, psychology, and sociology--engaging narrative and identity theories, migration and identity studies, and the theologies of identity and migration--and builds on them in an unprecedented study of international migrants to construct an initial theology of Christian identity in migration. New sociological research describes the social construction of religious, ethnic, and national identities among non-North American evangelical graduates who entered the United States to pursue advanced academic studies from 1983 to 2013. It provides an intercultural account of Christian identity formation in the context of migration, transnationalism, and globalization. It ultimately argues that an integral component of Christian identity-making involves the concept of migration, of movement, toward a transformation

"Aslam and Gunaratna bring together a broad analysis of the responses of states in Asia to the threats presented by the Covid-19 pandemic in its early phase. While the impact of the pandemic has undoubtedly been disastrous, it has also taught many lessons about social, political, economic, and security norms in modern civilization. The contributors to this book look at how these lessons have been learned - often the hard way - by a range of states including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, and Jordan, as well as by international organisations including ASEAN. They look at a range of issues, going beyond the most apparent healthcare concerns to also look at challenges such as the gig economy, terrorism, extremism, religious identity, and cybersecurity. Using these country-based case studies, this book establishes a framework for understanding these challenges and establishing best practice and scalable solutions for addressing them. A valuable resource for scholars and practitioners trying to understand how the world will and won't be changed by the impact of Covid-19, especially in the realms of security, society and economy"--
Health and illness in the Neoliberal Era in Europe discusses the impact of neoliberalism on public health and the social construction of health and illness in Europe, analysing case studies at a European and national level. The book focusses on three main topics: health inequity, self-responsibilisation and organisational reforms. Increasing inequity is one of the main outcomes of neoliberal policy in Europe and here the authors examine the impact of neoliberal policies on health inequality, providing a European comparative data analysis of healthy life expectancy and mental health issues in Spain. The book looks at self-responsibilisation, as part of neoliberal citizenship, through topics such as crowdsourcing medicine and citizen science. Finally, it analyses organizational reform in Europe using three case studies: Italian national health care reforms, mental health policy in Italy and maternal care in Russia. The book includes contributions from the Czech Republic, Italy, Russia and Spain and fosters the development of sociological debate in such countries within a European framework. It presents quantitative data analysis as well as ethnographic research and outlines a complex scenario affecting the everyday life of European citizens, their health and illness.

The concept of the business model has become very popular in the strategy and innovation literature's. Recent research has acknowledged its cognitive underpinnings, its status as a mental construct, and has highlighted how managers' cognitive and social sense-making patterns influence business model design and how shared logics enable innovation. Yet, the specific cognitive underpinnings of business models, though often mentioned, are rarely explicitly studied. Business Models and Cognition addresses this gap by focusing directly on intersections between business model studies and cognitive studies. Gathering an international, multidisciplinary team of business model and cognition scholars, this book not only identifies surprising connections between these two existing literature's, but also offers new reflections on future avenues of research for both in order to explore the cognitive foundations of business modelling. For its interdisciplinary scope, scholarly rigor, and novel insights, this fourth volume of the New Horizons in Managerial and Organizational Cognition is a must-read for scholars and students of business, strategy and cognition, and it is of keen interest to executives and managers eager to reflect critically on their own understanding of the "business model" as a concept.
