İşletmelerin etkinliğini artırarak daha iyi bir işleyişe sahip olmaları için liderlik yaklaşımlarını yerinde ve hedefe yönelik kullanmaları önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırma, kapsayıcı liderliğin çalışanların proaktif davranışlarına ve psikolojik açıdan güvenli hissetmelerine olan etkisine odaklanmaktadır. Bu maksatla kapsayıcı lider, proaktif davranış ve psikolojik güvenlik değişkenlerini içeren bir model önerilmiştir. Bu modelin test edilmesi için de İstanbul ve Ankara illerinde çeşitli sektörlerde faaliyet gösteren çalışanlardan anket aracılığıyla veriler toplanmıştır (N=381). Elde edilen veriler, SPSS- 27 ve AMOS-22 yazılımları kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda, kapsayıcı liderliğin hem proaktif davranışlar hem de psikolojik güvelik üzerinde ayrı ayrı anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü bir etkisinin olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Ayrıca literatürde daha önce ele alınmamış olan, psikolojik güvenliğin, kapsayıcı liderliğin proaktif davranışlara etkisindeki aracı rolü de test edilmiş olup, aracı (mediate) rolün olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Böylece önerilen model literatürde özgün bir konuma gelmektedir. Analizler sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, kapsayıcı liderliğin başta proaktif davranışlar olmak üzere etkilediği örgütsel davranış başlıklarını zenginleştirmektedir. Ayrıca bu bulguların hem akademik literatüre hem de işletme yöneticilerine uygulamalar esnasında katkı sağlayacağı değerlendirilmektedir.

Abstract
Leaving parliament is often a time of significant financial, employment and emotional difficulty for MPs. However, few studies have examined the support provided by parliaments to departing and former members. Consequently, parliaments lack access to best-practice case studies to improve the transitional experience for MPs. This article develops five benchmarks for supporting former MPs, covering transitional financial assistance; retirement income; career, financial, life transitions and redundancy counselling; mental health and medical services; and social and networking opportunities. These benchmarks are used to assess the support provided to former members by 22 selected 'professional parliaments'. Although most of these parliaments offer adequate retirement income, none currently provide sufficient transitional financial assistance for MPs who depart before pensionable age. In all cases, improvements are also required to mental health and other counselling services. Most parliaments provide adequate social and networking opportunities. Implementing and extending these measures will improve the transitional experience of former MPs and enhance democratic rotation by reducing impediments to high-quality candidates from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds from seeking political office, while easing the exit of MPs who are ready to leave.

This study examines how community-based advocates describe their observations of women in Alabama experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) during COVID-19 and the impacts on their roles as service providers. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten participants from six agencies covering 22 counties in Alabama, to investigate contributing factors of IPV during the initial phases of the coronavirus pandemic and to share their experiences in providing services to survivors during this historic time. Along with existing barriers, COVID-19 introduced new and exacerbating factors for women experiencing violence and for those attempting to provide services. Advocates observed that pandemic-influenced circumstances such as confinement, isolation, and economic instability exacerbated certain types of violence and that Black women, immigrant women, and women in rural areas faced heightened barriers. Advocates also revealed a relationship between these heightened barriers brought on by COVID-19 and their own experiences of isolation, grief, and a yearning for connection. These findings reveal the pertinent needs of survivors and advocates as we move through, forward, and beyond this global pandemic.

La evaluación del servicio al usuario en las entidades públicas se convierte en una de las herramientas fundamentales para la evaluación de la eficiencia y eficacia de estas instituciones, por lo que, la presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar la calidad del servicio brindado a los usuarios por parte del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal del Cantón Puerto López, entidad que carece de un indicador establecido de la calidad del servicio. La metodología utilizada es de tipo descriptiva, con base a la información cuantitativa obtenida de una encuesta de 22 preguntas efectuada a los usuarios de los servicios evaluados, esto mediante el modelo SERVPERF como herramienta de evaluación. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que los usuarios en relación con la satisfacción al cliente consideran que la institución brinda un buen servicio, tiene atención personalizada y la atención fue lo que esperaban. En este contexto, se concluye que de las dimensiones analizadas es la empatía la que mantiene una mayor relación con la satisfacción al cliente en el GAD de Puerto López.

African universities rely on teaching traditions and scientific theories based on Western epistemologies and ontologies. Interactions between European and African scholars too tend to focus on the deficits in African experiences, knowledge, research and teaching methodologies and the poor economic environments in which they operate that are characterized by inadequate infrastructure and budgets. This essay discusses an emerging opportunity in science diplomacy within African-European Union (EU) interactions in higher education and argues that a fundamental revision of the imbalances in African-European scholarly relationships is possible. The essay uses the case of the emerging Platform for African–European Studies, which involves 22 universities (including 14 in Africa and eight in Europe) and underscores the importance of science diplomacy, knowledge co-creation and co-production to correct hegemonic knowledge about Africa. It explores the origins of the programme, its attempt to follow a critical global and decolonized approach in addressing the revision of curricula both in Europe and in Africa and the co-design of research. It concludes by highlighting some of the obstacles to disrupting the status-quo.

The smartphone has become an integral part of adolescents' daily life. Despite the countless affordances of smartphones, concerns have been raised about their enormous potential to cause failures in self-regulation, such as distraction and task delay. The current study investigated whether two smartphone usage patterns, fragmented and sticky smartphone use, are associated with distraction and task delay. For three weeks, we logged the smartphone usage of 160 adolescents (733,359 observations) and assessed their distraction and task delay six times a day with experience sampling (12,723 observations). Using Dynamic Structural Equation Modeling, we found that, overall, adolescents felt more distracted when their smartphone use was more fragmented or sticky. Exploratory analyses indicated that 77% of adolescents experienced increased distraction (i.e., β > .05) when their smartphone use was more fragmented, and 55% when it was sticky. Overall, adolescents did not report more task delay as their smartphone use was more fragmented or sticky. Nonetheless, 22% experienced increased task delay when their smartphone use was more fragmented, and 42% when it was sticky. Together, our findings underline the dynamic nature of smartphone use and its differential impact on self-regulation outcomes.

This study aimed to analyze the affect, satisfaction with life and pro-environmental behavior of community garden users. Of the total of participants, 22 (55.5%) were aged over 60 years and 18 (44.5%) were in middle age. Data were obtained through a multi-method methodology. Were applied the Affective Maps Generator Instrument, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Positive and Negative Affect Scale and the Environmental Behavior Scale. The results assessed pleasantness, restoration and belonging perception in the community gardens' environment. High levels of satisfaction with life (M=28.38; SD=5.38) and positive affect (M=40.00; SD=5.51) were obtained. There was a high score in water and energy savings (M=4.14; SD=0.63) as well as in urban cleaning (M=4.62; SD=0.16), and an average score in recycling (M=3.23; SD=0.28) and a low score in activism and consumption (M=2.59; SD=0.14). It is concluded that interdisciplinary strategies should be encouraged to enhance community gardens' experiences, such as mobile social technologies, which make it possible to encourage emancipatory behaviors among their users.

AbstractRice cultivation on paddy soil is commonly associated with emissions of methane, a greenhouse gas, but rice varieties may differ in their actual level of emissions. This study analysed methane emissions associated with 22 distinct rice genotypes, using gas chromatography, and identified the cultivar Heijing 5 from northern China as a potential low-methane rice variety. To confirm this and to examine whether Heijing 5 can perform similarly at higher latitudes, Heijing 5 was cultivated in field trials in China (lat. 32° N) and Sweden (lat. 59° N) where (i) methane emissions were measured, (ii) methanogen abundance in the rhizosphere was determined using quantitative PCR, and (iii) the concentrations of nutrients in water and of heavy metals in rice grain and paddy soil were analysed. The results demonstrated that the low-methane rice cultivar Heijing 5 can successfully complete an entire growth period at high-latitude locations such as central Sweden. Massively parallel sequencing of mRNAs identified candidate genes involved in day length and cold acclimatisation. Cultivation of Heijing 5 in central Sweden was also associated with relatively low heavy metal accumulation in rice grains and lowered nutrient losses to neighbouring water bodies.

AbstractWe develop a profile of overvalued equity, and show that firms meeting this profile experience abnormal stock returns net of transaction costs of −22% to −25% over the 12 months following portfolio formation. We show our model is distinct from predictors proposed in prior work, and our results robust to alternative measurements of expected returns. We also show that overvaluation is not confined to small firms and that institutions do not trade as if they identify overvalued equity. The profitable predictability we document suggests a pricing anomaly relating to the 2.5% of the firms in the population that our model identifies as substantially overvalued. Although we believe markets are generally efficient within the bounds of transaction costs, our evidence suggests that violations of minimally rational use of publicly available information do occur. To the extent that anomalies disappear or attenuate once documented in the literature (Doukas et al., 2002 [European Financial Management, 2002, 8, 229]; Schwert, 2003 [Handbook of the Economics of Finance, 2003, 1, 939]), our results are of interest to financial economists and investors.

Este documento analiza los discursos que orbitan alrededor de la asignación del agua para el sector hidroeléctrico en Colombia en el marco de la justicia hídrica. Parte de un análisis crítico de los estudios de impacto ambiental de 22 hidroeléctricas que, por su capacidad de generación de energía, requirieron licencia ambiental de la Autoridad Nacional de Licencias Ambientales (en adelante ANLA), en contraste con la expresión social[1] y los conceptos de justicia hídrica empleados en la academia y en los contextos específicos en cada proyecto. Se caracterizaron los proyectos hidroeléctricos para construir las siguientes categorías de análisis: i) limitaciones al reconocimiento, ii) legitimación y procesos de participación en los proyectos y iii) priorización en la distribución del agua. Como resultado se evidenció que i) no se utilizan criterios de equidad, eficiencia o sostenibilidad en la asignación del agua y ii) el otorgamiento de licencias ambientales para proyectos hidroeléctricos no se realiza bajo principios de justicia hídrica.

This study aimed to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence in education from the perspective of the students of Al Ain University. The researcher used the descriptive approach due to its compatibility to the study objectives. The study sample consisted of (184) students from Al Ain University in Al Ain City, who were selected using the random stratified sampling method. The questionnaire was developed and distributed by using Google Drive software. The results showed that most students think that artificial intelligence can improve learning personal experiences, process a considerable amount of data and improve task management. However, there have been different opinions about the ability of artificial intelligence to control students' behavior and direct learning, improve the efficiency of educational system, provide notes and reviews, reduce dependency on teachers, and enhance social interaction. Furthermore, several students expressed their concerns about the possible missing of traditional educational jobs, the costs of implementing artificial intelligence systems, the errors of programming and error-processing, and missing the human relationships in the classroom.

A construção de um projeto de nação brasileira se deu na primeira metade do século XIX, em meio a um período de turbulências. Nesse período, foram criados os cursos de Direito em Olinda e São Paulo, além do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro. Após 22 anos de precariedade, o curso de Olinda foi transferido Recife, e foi quando, em 1870, Silvio Romero anunciou um conjunto de ideias cientificistas, inaugurando uma nova fase da historiografia brasileira. Ele propôs uma tríade racial como formadora do povo brasileiro, e para estudá-la recorreu ao folclore, tendo como objetivo compreender a contribuição cultural de cada raça para formação do povo brasileiro analisando homem e natureza. Essa sugestão aparece nas obras de Felisbelo Freire e Euclides da Cunha que tomamos como exemplo para investigar a repercussão do pensamento de Romero. Está pesquisa está pautada por uma sociologia do conhecimento de Mannheim, preocupada em investigar como as verdades são construídas em tempos de turbulência social. E, assim, a passagem do império à república é significativa para a dicotomia entre tradição e modernidade, sertão e litoral.

O aumento da temperatura e da concentração de dióxido de carbono pode causar impacto na germinação e no desenvolvimento inicial das plântulas da Caatinga. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar o impacto do aumento da temperatura e da concentração de CO2 na emergência e no desenvolvimento inicial de Anadenanthera colubrina, Myracrodruon urundeuva, Poincianella pyramidalis. As sementes foram semeadas em tubete (50 cm3) contendo substrato comercial para mudas florestais e mantidas em câmaras de crescimento sob duas concentrações de CO2 atmosférico (390 e 770ppm) e dois regimes de temperatura (18-24-30 °C e 22-28-34 °C). A porcentagem, tempo médio, velocidade média e índice de velocidade de emergência, o comprimento total e o peso fresco e seco total das plântulas foram avaliadas. O aumento da temperatura e da concentração de CO2 não influencia a emergência de plântulas de A. colubrina, P. pyramidalis. Por outro lado, o crescimento inicial de A. colubrina, P. pyramidalis e M. urundeuva foi favorecido pelo aumento da temperatura. Além disso, produção de biomassa de A. colubrina e M. urundeuva apresentou resposta positiva frete ao aumento da temperatura e da concentração de CO2.

IntroductionData unavailability poses multiple challenges in many health fields, especially within ethnic subgroups in Canada, who may be hesitant to share their health data with researchers. Since health information availability is controlled by the participant, it is important to understand the willingness to share health information by an ethnic population to increase data availability within ethnocultural communities.
MethodsWe employed a qualitative descriptive approach to better understand willingness to share health information by South Asian participants and operated through a lens that considered the cultural and sociodemographic aspect of ethnocultural communities. A total of 22 in-depth interviews were conducted between March and July 2020.
ResultsThe results of this study show that health researchers should aim to develop a mutually beneficial information-sharing partnership with communities, with an emphasis on the ethnocultural and socio-ecological aspects of health within populations.
ConclusionThe findings support the need for culturally sensitive and respectful engagement with the community, ethically sound research practices that make participants feel comfortable in sharing their information, and an easy sharing process to share health information feasibly.

Abstract
For two decades, a large body of security practitioners and scholars axiomatically expected "future war" to be ambiguous and hybrid, based on recent cases. The scale and overt form of the Russia–Ukraine war, which begun on February 22, 2022, demonstrates the limits of this orthodoxy. This article asks why informed opinion fell prey to such false expectations. It argues that as well as the pathologies of fashion in military-academic circles, there was an intellectual failure. Those who confidently expected war to remain in the shadows did not take seriously enough war's political nature, and the possibility that it will intensify as political stakes rise. Either they assumed apolitically that war's form was determined by the tools of globalization, or that the politics would be of the status quo, whereby the stability of the unipolar era would endure. Paying lip service to Carl von Clausewitz, in fact, they were unwittingly channeling Francis Fukuyama. To demonstrate this failure, I examine three representative texts of the genre and unpack their assumptions, by David Richards, Antoine Bousquet, and Sean McFate.
