The article studies the political role of the army in Spain and its influence on the sociopolitical life of the country in the first third of the 20th century. The preconditions for transition from armed forces to arbiter of the internal political life are analyzed. The reasons for and manifestations of militarization of the Spanish society, the roots of authoritative tendencies in the system of state governance are studied. Using concrete example, the direct influence of military authorities on governmental decisions and law-making process has been proved. It has been established that military putsches in Spain were a traditional reaction of armed forces to crisis phenomena in the political system of the state. Thus, the establishment of the military-monarch dictatorship of General M. Primo de Rivera was a logical result of the constitutional-monarchist regime crisis in Spain. ; Статья посвящена исследованию политической роли армии в Испании и её влияния на общественно-политическую жизнь страны в первой трети ХХ в. Анализируются предпосылки превращения вооружённых сил на арбитра внутриполитической жизни. Исследуются причины и проявления милитаризации испанского общества, истоки авторитарных тенденций в системе государственного управления. На конкретных примерах доказано непосредственное влияние военного руководства на правительственные решения и законотворческий процесс. Установлено, что военные путчи в Испании были традиционным ответом вооруженных сил на кризисные явления в политической системе государства. Следовательно, установление военно-монархической диктатуры генерала М. Примо де Риверы стало закономерным результатом кризиса конституционно-монархического режима в Испании. ; Стаття присвячена дослідженню ролі армії в Іспанії та її впливу на суспільно-політичне життя країни в першій третині ХХ ст. The religious minorities are underrepresented in governance at national, provincial and local political sphere in India. The inadequate representation of religious minorities in political sphere has perpetuated their minority status as socially marginalised, economically excluded and sub-ordinate social group in Indian society. Despite the fact, that neither the Constitution (73rd Amendment Act), 1992 nor the Tamil Nadu Panchayati Raj Act 1994 have provided reservation for representation of minority in rural self-governance, this paper examines the social factors that influence the election of religious minorities in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) through the Elite and Pluralistic theory of power structure. The quantitative and qualitative data collected in three districts of Tamil Nadu unfolds the influence of caste, class, religion and gender in the election of religious minorities to PRIs.

Questo articolo analizza le prospettive della Convenzione delle Nazioni Unite contro il crimine organizzato transnazionale dopo l'istituzione nel 2018 di un meccanismo di riesame preposto al suo monitoraggio. La tesi qui sostenuta è che il Review Mechanism, nonostante i suoi limiti strutturali, potrebbe potenzialmente contribuire a comprendere il funzionamento della Convenzione di Palermo sul piano pratico e rafforzare il ruolo della società civile nel contrasto del crimine organizzato transnazionale. ; This article examines the perspectives of the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime after the creation of its Review Mechanism in 2018. This essay seeks to demonstrate that despite its structural flaws this treaty monitoring body could potentially contribute to understand the functioning of the Palermo Convention in practice, and to strengthen the role of civil society in the fight against transnational organized crime.

The essay investigates the interrelationships between Political Correcteness, stand-up comedy, and minority groups, by concentrating on the performances of an Arab-American disabled comedian, the "Palestinian Muslim virgin with cerebral palsy" Maysoon Zayid. Focusing on PC as a set of linguistic practices whose effect is the sanitarization of public discourse (especially when minorities are concerned), and stand-up comedy as a set of speech acts aiming at both the affirmation and/or the transgression of identity boundaries, the essay investigates the relationship between PC and comedy, and the way they interact within the three "spaces of minority" Zayid embodies: ethnicity (Arab-Americaness in the wake of 9/11), gender (womanhood and its relation to both Arab and American cultures), and disability, under-represented in American culture and the media.

Nel libro bianco adottato il 2 febbraio 2017 inteso a delineare le priorità che il Regno Unito intende perseguire con il recesso dall'UE, si legge che: "Leaving the EU will mean that our laws will be made in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, and will be based on the specific interests and values of the UK" (2.2). "The CJEU is amongst the most powerful of supranational courts due to the principles of primacy and direct effect in EU law. We will bring an end to the jurisdiction of the CJEU in the UK" (2.3). La volontà di preservare o riacquisire la propria sovranità legislativa e giurisdizionale sono obbiettivi sostanzialmente identici a quelli perseguiti dalla Confederazione elvetica nei rapporti con l'UE tanto che lo stesso libro bianco nell'individuare i possibili meccanismi atti a risolvere le controversie del futuro accordo tra Regno Unito e UE, richiama nell'allegato A, il sistema utilizzato negli accordi bilaterali in vigore tra UE e Svizzera (A10-A13). La Svizzera, ricordiamo, non è membro dell'UE ma intrattiene con quest'ultima intese relazioni economiche, politiche e culturali. Considerando l'importanza di questi legami, la Confederazione ha sviluppato nel corso dei decenni delle strategie giuridiche intese da un lato, a garantire, perlomeno, in ambiti selezionati, un parallelismo tra i due ordinamenti giuridici e dall'altro lato, a salvaguardare la sovranità e l'elevato grado di democraticità del proprio sistema di governo. L'equilibrio tra questi obbiettivi di fronte alle varie fasi del processo d'integrazione comunitaria è stato garantito di volta in volta attraverso l'adeguamento autonomo del diritto svizzero al diritto UE e con la conclusione di accordi bilaterali in settori rilevanti. Tali strumenti, in particolare gli accordi, presentano delle caratteristiche di funzionamento del tutto peculiari che hanno saputo offrire un'adeguata risposta alle esigenze delle parti contraenti e garantito, almeno sino ad oggi, un buon andamento delle relazioni fra UE e Svizzera. Il presente scritto intende rilevare le principali caratteristiche giuridiche del c.d. modello svizzero e riflettere sulla possibilità che quest'ultimo possa costituire un precedente utile ad ispirare i meccanismi con i quali saranno regolate le future relazioni tra il Regno Unito e l'UE.
