Oil: Send it by pipe

Twenty-five years ago much of the Gulf's oil was exported to Mediterranean terminals overland. The advent of the supertankers and political interruptions to overland supply routes seemed to render most of the pipelines obsolete. The author describes how the Gulf war has changed the picture entirely, with Iraq leading the way in the race to build pipeline export networks. (DÜI-Asd)
