Lack of diversity regarding genetic and environmental backgrounds weakens the generalization and clinical applicability of research findings on psychotic disorders. Notably, Latin Americans have been generally neglected in genetic studies, comprising less than 2% of genome-wide association study samples. But Latin American populations represent a unique opportunity for research, given the exceptionally high ethnic admixture of this group. Increasing genetic diversity is essential to improve the fine mapping of known regions associated with psychotic disorders, discover novel genetic associations, and replicate studies. Additionally, Latin America is characterized by massive social, political, and economic inequalities, all known risk factors for mental health issues, including psychotic disorders. This article aims to 1) discuss the challenges and advantages of studying Latin America's particular genetic makeup and environmental context; 2) review previous studies conducted in the region; and 3) describe three Latin American research initiatives in progress: the Neuropsychiatric Genetics of Psychosis in Mexican Populations (NeuroMEX), the Paisa, and the Latin American Network for the Study of Early Psychosis (ANDES) studies.

The city of Aleppo has suffered massive destruction, mainly in the old city and the eastern and southern districts, which housed a low-income population before 2011 and remained under the control of opposition forces until late 2016. Different measures and plans have been adopted by the Syrian government and the local administration since 2017 to start rebuilding neighbourhoods. They tend to favour investments in the tourism, industrial and urban development sectors rather than meet the housing needs of the displaced population. Aleppo's reconstruction planning also shows a highly centralised approach with a noticeable involvement of the Minister of Local Administration. The appointment of reliable figures to the local administration and the mobilisation of other local actors are part of the central government's strategy to rebuild state institutions at the local level. An analysis of informal settlements and their reclassification as real-estate development areas underlines the increasing role of real-estate companies and businessmen in shaping the dominant reconstruction discourse and practices.

Prior research demonstrates that a number of cultural factors—including politics and religion—are significantly associated with anti-vaccine attitudes. This is consequential because herd immunity is compromised when large portions of a population resist vaccination. Using a nationally representative sample of American adults that contains a battery of questions exploring views about vaccines, the authors demonstrate how a pervasive ideology that rejects scientific authority and promotes allegiance to conservative political leaders—what we and others call Christian nationalism—is consistently one of the two strongest predictors of anti-vaccine attitudes, stronger than political or religious characteristics considered separately. Results suggest that as Americans evaluate decisions to vaccinate themselves or their children, those who strongly embrace Christian nationalism—close to a quarter of the population—will be much more likely to abstain, potentially prolonging the threat of certain illnesses. The authors conclude by discussing the immediate implications of these findings for a possible coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.

Increasing mobility to and from European Union (EU) countries has started to challenge the principles of territoriality and national citizenship through which European democracies traditionally conditioned access to social benefits. Existing typologies of immigrant social protection regimes do not seem to adequately capture (nor explain) the diverse repertoire of policy configurations through which European welfare regimes adapt to migration-driven societal dynamics. This introductory chapter provides a critical reflection on the link between migration and access to welfare in the EU. In doing so, it aims to propose a comprehensive analytical framework that allows for a systematic comparison of the inclusiveness of social protection systems towards mobile individuals. We argue that states' responsiveness towards the social protection needs of their immigrant and emigrant populations has to be examined through a combination of factors, including the characteristics of these populations, the migration history of these countries, as well as the main features of their welfare state. ; Peer reviewed

One of the factors that can create a successful economic development in each country is the absorption of labor. The high absorption of labor will reduce poverty and increase economic growth. Thus, the government of each country is no exception, Indonesia is also carrying out reforms related to labor issues. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence employment in East Java Province in 2010-2017. The variables used in this study are employment, wages, population and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The data used in this study is panel data. The analysis tool used is panel data regression analysis. The results in this study using the model fixed effect are the variables of labor, wages, population and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) affecting employment in East Java. The policy recommendations carried out are programs to improve the quality and productivity of the workforce, programs for expanding and placing workers, developing industrial relations and sharia work programs and labor inspection and labor protection programs.

The Uyghur population is mired in constant conflict with the authorities of the Chinese central government. This is due to the participation of part of the population –especially younger people- in local organizations associated with Islamic terrorism and often-violent activities that these groups perform against the State. Islam (such as laws, customs, and demonstrations) is the element that the PRC instrumentally employs in legitimating its violent and restrictive policies against the Uyghur people, in order to maintain its power over the territory and its natural resources. This is also done while publicly presenting the measures as "War on Terror" and "Modernization" of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. In the framework of decolonial studies, this research provides a detailed overview of the current religious colonialism of the PRC, and how religion and "War on Terror" became State tools of political repression. On the other hand, it aims to present Uyghurs' territorial religious manifestations as one re-existence instrument, in opposition to the epistemicides that Beijing is committing.

International migration has a consistently high profile within national and international politics with increased focus on measurement and quantification of migrant numbers, impact on services and contribution to local, regional and national economies. However, the absence of consistency within definitions, categorisations and measurement of international migration and migrant populations create challenges and barriers to both understanding the needs of migrant communities but also the provision of adequate services within specific geographical areas. This paper will present findings from a project designed to map the impact of migration on a settled community within a Local Authority (LA) in the North East of England. As the project encountered routine inconsistencies around definitions, categorisations and measurement of migration within the LA area, this paper demonstrates the complexity of trying to 'measure' migration on the ground and while consistency in measurement is key to accurate data, we conclude with an ethical question about the rationale for collecting data on migrant populations.

Poverty in Indonesia is a very complex and multidimensional problem relating to political, economic, social, and cultural aspects. Most of the families who depend on agricultural products are poor. Even though the role of agriculture in the country's economic development is still very important. Approximately 60% of the population still working in agriculture or still depending on agricultural products for their living. This study aimed to analyze the level of independence of farmers in marketing and processing agricultural products. The research method used includes qualitative and quantitative data types, data sources were primary and secondary data. The population observed was 77 people. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and statistical analysis with PLS (Partial Least Square) method. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that farmers of Subak Abian Tri Guna Karya, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency have a good independence level in terms of economy, intellectual, and emotional in processing and marketing their agricultural products.

This study aims to examine: the effect of Internal Auditors, External Auditors and Regional House of Representatives on Good Governance in Regencies / Cities in Region II of West Java Province. Based on its purpose, this research is a verification study, namely research that seeks to test the answer to a temporary problem (hypothesis) based on a particular theory. The research method used was an explanatory survey, namely research using populations to explain the relationship between variables in the population. This study is intended to look for facts and factual information collected from respondents using a questionnaire given to the Inspectorate as an Internal Auditor, the Supreme Audit Board (BPK) as an External Auditor and Members of the Regional People's Representative Council in Regencies / Cities in Region II of Java Province West. Based on the results of the study it was found that the Internal Auditor, External Auditor and Regional House of Representatives had a positive effect on Good governance, simultaneously and partially.

Remuneration governance is an integral part of Policy Reforms. Background by awareness at the same time the government's commitment to bring clean and good governance. But at the level of implementation, change and renewal are implemented in order to realize clean governance and the authority may not be able to be implemented properly (effectively) without the proper welfare of the personnel who carry it out. The problems discussed in this study is how much influence the Remuneration on Employee Performance In General Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Transportation. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using correlation analysis techniques and the coefficient of determination. The population in this study is 279 people and a sample of the entire population of 70 people. Data were collected by questionnaires. Results calculated product-moment correlation coefficient was 0.5918 and the calculation of the coefficient of determination equal to 34.06%. The remaining amount of 65.04% is influenced by other variables outside of research such as Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Competence.

La Covid-19 génère une crise sans précèdent qui n'est pas uniquement sanitaire, mais également économique, sociale, politique et potentiellement humanitaire. En mars 2020, l'OMS déclare l'état pandémique de la maladie et maintient l'application des mesures barrières. La question de recherche est d'établir le niveau de perception sociale des marchandes de fruits et légumes de l'application des mesures-barrières en Haïti. Une enquête a été réalisée sur un échantillon aléatoire de 50 marchandes de fruits et légumes, une catégorie vulnérable de la région métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince (RMPP). 98 % de la population étudiée sont des femmes; 92% d'entre elles viennent du milieu rural. Seulement 4% des enquêtés a confirmé avoir pratiqué la distanciation physique contre 96% qui a estimé n'être pas en mesure de la pratiquer, ni de placer un des leurs en quarantaine. Il semble pertinent de chercher à saisir, à l'avenir, la perception de la COVID-19 auprès de la population haïtienne sur la base d'une démarche comparative mettant en situation plusieurs couches sociales et plusieurs activités économiques.

Metridium senile is a circumboreally distributed sea anemone (Cnidaria: Anthozoa: Actiniaria) native to the northern hemisphere, and has been presumed as introduced to several locations in the southern hemisphere. Although the sea anemone fauna of the Falkland Islands is not well known, to date no historical records of Metridium senile exist. In 2019, we conducted biodiversity surveys to gather information about sea anemones present in the islands. During these 2019 surveys, we detected Al senile from three locations: Stanley (eastern Falklands), the Bird Island (south-west Falklands), and in the northern Jason Islands (north-west Falklands). The species was well established at each location, with evidence for asexual reproduction occurring in the western sites. We confirmed the identification by morphology and DNA analysis. Stanley populations are distinct in color variation from the southwestern and northwestern populations, which may indicate separate introduction waves or pathways and the potential for additional, undetected locations of Al senile. ; Shackleton Scholarship Fund Darwin Initiative through UK Government Funding DPLUS071 Falkland Islands Government

The population in this study is regencies / cities in the Papua Province during the last three years, namely the 2015-2017 budget year, the data obtained is the LHP data that has been audited by theBPK. the sample used in all of these studies as many as 87 samples of local government financial reports are all existing populations in the sample. The data analysis method used in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis with the SPSS 16 program. This data is processed from June to the beginning of the 2019 julli in Jayapura City, Papua Province. The results in this study indicate that the age of the Regional Government has a positive effect on the level of disclosure of regional financial statements (LKPD). and on the Local Government Size, the Number of OPD, and also the Dependency Rate have a positive and insignificant effect on the level of disclosure while the auditfindings themselves influence the level of disclosure of the LKPD.

Bureaucratic reform is a strategic phase to build the state apparatus to become more efficient and effective in carrying out the general tasks of government and national development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work skills and employee's job involvement through job satisfaction. This type of research is causal with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was 62 employees and the sample in this study was the entire population and utilized the saturated sample method. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to all respondents in this study. The results of the first sub-structural research indicate that work skills affect job satisfaction and job involvement influences job satisfaction. The results of the second sub-structural research indicate that work skills influence employee performance. Job involvement influences employee performance and job satisfaction affects employee performance. The path analysis shows that job satisfaction is not able to mediate between work skills, job involvement and employee performance.

The main focus of the existing research study was to examine the impact of recreational activities upon youth from social prospective healthy lifestyle. The study Population consist of 520 Teachers, 15890 Students and 14926Parents from Government Girls Colleges (GGC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Five districts Swabi, Peshawar, Kohat, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan (20% percent of 25 districts) were randomly selected from the population further the researcher using proportionate sampling technique for the data collection. Self- developed and administered questionnaire was used for the present study to draw finding and conclusion. Both descriptive frequency and percentage and inferential statistic was used for such as regression and ANOVA were used for the data analysis. It was concluded that the researcher concluded that a very positive stance was received regarding effectiveness of recreation in individual lives and particularly among the youngster. The respondents of all categories i.e. parents, students and teachers thought that recreation is very effective tool to promote and develop healthy lifestyle.
